Apple care what do i do

hi guys i got my mac book pro some months ago i also bought apple care for it i tried to register it but to no succes, now i spoke to a mac pesrson and told me they where having some problems and to register later,AND HE SAID THAT I DON`T HAVE TO BECASUSE WHEN I BOUGHT IT IS ALL READY REGISTER FOR ME. THERE FOR I SOULD NOT WORRY. is this true??
what sould i do.
I.Monrroy

if it's purchased online it should be registered, but
sometimes ends up not being. as far as purchasing it
at an apple store, it usually doesn't get enrolled.
salespeople often don't really know anything about
applecare enrollment. they should but they don't.
they're just salespeople, and they will say
anything in order to sell!
That's not true. At least not in the Apple Store I go to (Palo Alto). I purchased Applecare there a few years ago. The genius guy basically spelled out the pros and the cons of Applecare. I originally went there because of a broken key on the keyboard and feared I may need Applecare to do this. The genius replaced it on the spot for free and said I don't need applecare for that.
"You can come in any time you need more keys, cuz I have tons of old keyboards," he said, holding up a bunch of them.
Because of the shockingly good service and honesty, I went ahead and bought Applecare. The genius called a sales guy over and he took care of everything, including enrollment, and even gave me the URL on Apple's site where I can check how many days I have left on the Applecare. Finally he gave me the Applecare box and went over the basics.
Between the genius and the sales guy, they left no stones unturned. It's the textbook definition of perfect customer support. Both of them knew about the ins and outs of the Applecare service, and they were both equally honest.
The sales people at that particular apple store are not just idiots who want to push sales. They're extremely friendly and very knowledged. They never pushed anything in the 20 or so times I went there.

  • Apple Care - what a great thing

    Hello to the mac family,
I realize that this forum is mainly for problem solving but this is important to me and may help others.
Recently we had a problem on my son's G-4 I-Book. It was a strange problem with one web site used by my son for his college mail.
I remembered that I had purchased a 3 year "Apple Care" protection and called them.
I am so impressed with their help. We tried so many things and they never got discouraged. It took 3 calls continuing our case but the problem is fixed and my son's computer is all updated etc.
The last Tech..."Matt I think was his name" was like a Pit Bull.
He was determined to fix the problem and make us happy. He never got discouraged when things didn't work. He just had the attitude...OK let's try this next. They were all great. This to many would have been a minor problem and could have been fixed by using FireFox, but my son likes Safari.
I just wanted to post and let people know....the "Apple Care" is a great protection and peace of mind. I don't usually buy protecion plans on peripherals and nome appliances but I amd glad I got it for the computer.....mGb.......Jim

Although this post was more of a comment, I felt it was important to express my happiness in the fact that the reps were great and the problem is fixed 100%.
I posted so that others may consider purchasing "Apple Care" in the future. Computers are expensive I realize but the peace of mind of AC was ell worth it.
I marked this as answered so that it can be removed or filed away...Jim. S.

  • Ok so I so my IPod Touch has the same problem as the one before. The headphone jack. The i hear prefectly on the right but not the left. This my second time. What do I do to fix it? I do have the Apple Care!

I tried all my head phones and its the left side. This happened to me before, and I got a new one. I need help what I do? How do I fix this problem. If they do give me a new one do I have to buy the Apple Care again. Can they fix it. Wht am I doing wrong? Am i Putting the headphone in my ipod wrong. What is it? Ughh!!! This is annoying!!!!!

Well if the same problem happens to all your ipods, it makes me suspect that there is something wrong with your headphones, as it would be a strange coincidence that all the ipods have the same problem.
Unless the ipods have the same problem with different headphones!

  • Netflixs no longer streams instantly on firefox even with silver app updates.  Netflix said to call Apple Care that it is an Apple problem.  What to do since I am not going to pay Apple for the solution

Recently Netflixs stopped instantly streaming their videos on Firefox even after installing silver----- update.  When I called Netflix, they said it was the Firefox browser and not them and told me to call apple care.  I do not have apple care coverage and want to know if I can solve this proble or is it Apple that is refusing to comply by making the browser incompatible with netflix software.  I can get Netflix on my Roku.

Hope the following helps.  The secret seems to be to NOT download Silverlight from Netflix site.
MacBook Pro  / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better.  Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG.   However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success.  So here's what I did:
    1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
    2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
    3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
    4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
    5. Go back to the Get  Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
    6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
    7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
    8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

  • My Iphone4 Home button sometimes work nicely and sometimes it stop working. India Apple care says they cant give me even paid support because i bought phone from Australia. i don't know what to do. i m disappointed with the product and service support

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
    Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.
Policy is policy. Get over it.

  • What is the difference  between apple care protection plan and apple care

What is the difference between apple care protection plan and apple care +

    apple care protection plan
That is the extended warranty (total of 3 years including the standard warranty for the first year) for any Mac computer.
    apple care +
That is the extended warranty (total of 2 years including the standard warranty for the first year) for any iDevice (iPad, iPhone, etc).
For either, the standard warranty is usually referred to as hardware warranty (not Applecare); see an example for the warranty for an iMac:
    http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/embedded-mac-warranty-us.html
whereas the extended Applecare is referred to as that:

  • What and for how long additional OR separate benefits I receive after buying Apple Care?

I bought a MBA 13" in India (home) last month.
I wanted to know about Apple Care / Extended warranty that is available for sth like ~15K (INR).
Can you please give me a detail as in what do I get with this for my Mac and for how long?
Can I buy this before the day my current/default warranty expires or shall I have to buy this within some stipulated period from the day of purchase of my Mac?
What is already available for my Mac as of now and for how long? Shall anything be added to warranty or care that is available with my Mac as of now? Shall be added right from the day I buy it or it will happen so after my current warranty/care gets used up i.e. after completion or 1 year or for whatever period MBAs comes with care/warranty. So, these extended warranty simply increases the number of years on my protection plan or gives additional cookies?
If I buy an iPhone5 then shall I have to purchase separate apple care for that? Or is it available for all my Apple products? Or if not then are there such plans that I can buy to cover all or many of my apple products and are cheaper as a combined purchase?
Within that period if let's say my Keypad fails screen goes kaput then Apple will either fix it/replace it or it will ask for extra money if it needs replacement? Or will ask for extra money even if it was not accidental damage (my fault)? I read sth about accidental damage with AppleCare purchase - it adds to the first year also or only during the next two years (or next 3 years - not sure how long it holds).
Shall I have to buy it offline or i can buy it online too? What if I buy from another country (online/offline) if it's available for cheap over there?
I see some deals on such packages on eBay - mostly on USA eBay, and have read posts people buying it but they were mostly from USA/EU. Can I buy one of those? Shall they be valid for my product(s)?
By the way, does Apple provide an email support with those plans because I couldn't find one email address for Apple support.

  • What will happen when my Apple Care expire? Can I get another one?

I just go my MBP 17" 6 months ago and I already had some quiet serious issue with that machine (motherboard replacement). I have also Apple Care. I wish to keep this machine as long as it is possible (5 years or so) and my question is can I buy another 2 or 3 years of Apple Care when the current one will expire? I don't want to be left alone, without any coverage and paying hefty prices for reparations. What are your suggestions guys?
    Thanks for any answers.

AppleCare is a one-time extension of your warranty.  You cannot extend your warranty beyond your initial AppleCare term through Apple.  You may be able to find third party vendors to provide extended coverage.

  • What exactly is Apple Care

When i buy it and add it to my iPhone, and a button doesnt work and i sent it in. How much will it cost AND What will they do? Do i get a new iphone. For example i get a new iPhone 4 Since thats what i have?  Or will they just fix it. Im sorry if this isnt making any since.

If you have Apple Care, you send in your device and it's broke?
    They fix it.
Apple Care is $99, one time fee.
You may receive a new device, they may fix it. Whichever is cheaper for Apple.
Lastly, you receive two incidents of accidental damage (phone drowned, screen broke... etc) for free.
    Beat that carrier insurance.

  • What does Apple Care cover?

I'm going to be making the switch to Apple and getting a Macbook and I'm curious as to what exactly Apple Care covers. If something happens and it accidentally breaks, will it still be covered even if it was my fault?

Essentially, AppleCare is just an extension to your standard warranty.
    Your standard warranty comes with:
    1) 90 days of phone support (for setup questions, trouble-shooting, OS X issues, Apple software questions, etc.).
    2) Hardware repairs for manufacturer defects, component failure, etc. (not user caused, and no cosmetic repairs).
AppleCare simply extends both of these warranties to 3 years maximum coverage (counted from the date of the computer's original sale).
For more information on AppleCare, you can read here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/products/proplan.html
    Hope this helps.

  • What is necessary to bring when buying apple care to a Mac Pro

I'm buying an Mac Pro and I will like to know if I put apple care a few months later what will I need to bring ? And will apple care cover ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You don't need to bring anything. Just get AppleCare for the MacBook Pro (note that there's AppleCare for the 13-inch MacBook Pro and another one for the 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pro).
AppleCare covers all non-accidental damages caused to your Mac and extends the warranty for 3 years. It also extends the free telephone support. See > http://www.apple.com/support/products/mac.html
