  • Baught & Registered Apple Care with Computer.  Now they say I am not.

I Baught & Registered Apple Care with my Computer November Last Year. Now they say I am not registered and need the receipt. I am in Bolivia and do not have it with me, calling costs 3-5$ per minute! Any advice on resoliving this issue with them? Also, limiting phone use would be great, Thanks in Advance.

How did you originally register Apple Care, by phone or online? You can double check Apple's Warranty Info website or check with the Bolivia User Group on how to proceed without paying for a phone call.

  • Apple Care with the 5th Generation Nano

I know this isn't the right place, but I couldn't find the right category.
When you buy an iPod from a store such as Bestbuy, does it come with the default apple care (ie 90 days of tech support and 1 year of mail in) or do you have to get the store's warranty?
    Please help.

We're all users like you here so give. Us a break. All new iPods come with 90 days phone support and one year warranty whether you buy it at Best Buy, Target or the Apple Store. You can buy AppleCare to extend your phone support and warranty to two years. Best Buy also has their own extended warranty.

  • Can I get apple care with a contract phone?

Hi I have a mobile business contract with EE and just wondered if I could take out applecare on the phone instead of using the mobile providers insurance??
Does anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Call Apple care and ask ,personally I cannot see why not you have limited time toi purchase AppleCare +( in UK )
be aware Apple care does not cover loss ,theft etc it is a warranty extension not an insurance for all risks
and in reality most iPhones are on "contract " of one sort or another

  • Terms that void apple care with RAM upgrade

    Hi,
I want to upgrade the RAM of my macbook to at least 1gb. I have heard some conditions that may void the apple care that I bought. So, I heard that you would have to leave at least one of the original RAM cards in there for the warranty to still be considered good? Is that true? And if that is try is it bad to mix a 1gb RAM card with a 256mb or is there a difference, or is it better to just get 2 512mb? thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
The RAM of a MacBook is considered a "user installable part" by Apple. You will not void your warranty by replacing the RAM. However, if you damage something in the course of changing the RAM, the repair will not be covered by the warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan. Here is Apple's article about this:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25097
Apple will even give you instructions on how to change the RAM:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303721
Because of the graphics sub-system installed in your MacBook, there is a benefit to using matched pairs of RAM. How much this will impact your user experience will depend on how you use the computer. Personally, I would recommend you keep the RAM in pairs, but others here have had no noticeable problems with unmatched capacities of RAM.

  • Apple Care with iMac query

When I get an iMac, I'm planning on taking out the Apple Care cover.
    I live in the UK.
When I have needed service on my iPad (3rd gen) which has Apple Care cover, I'm given three options, one is take to an Apple Store, two is Apple will send me out a pre paid package to place the iPad in for to then return to Apple for repair or three the Express Replacement Service.
I use the Express Replacement Service, which means I get a replacement iPad sent out to me and receive it with 2 working days.
Now I was wondering, are the three above service options still provided with Apple Care cover on the iMac?
And also what are the service options with Apple Care cover with the iMac?
I don't want to take the Apple Care cover out on the iMac if its reliant on me taking the iMac into an Apple Store for service, has the nearest Apple Store to me is a 180 mile round trip.
    Thanks in advance

Apple does not offer advance replacement on any Mac. Unlike iPods and iOS devices where Apple just replaces the failed device, Apple repairs a customer's Mac, so advance replacement is not an option.
    Regards.
Thanks very much for the help its much appreciated.
So my repair options would be:
1: Take into an Apple Store (which wouldnt be possible in my case has its a 180 mile round trip to my nearest Apple Store)
2: The Direct Mail in service. Which I assume is where Apple sends me out a pre paid box for me to place my iMac in, which would then get returned to Apple for repair or if repair was not possible, replacment. Is this correct?
    Thanks again.

  • The apple care rep hung up on me. How can I send an email to Apple Care with a description of my problem

The apple care rep hung up the phone on me. How can I contact Apple care by email with a description of the problem that I have. Everything seems to try to push me back into their frequently asked questions list.

The problem is that the data Apple has for my old Apple ID is contaminated in several ways. First the password I have used for years no longer works. Second, the email address they have in the system to send me a link to change the password is contaminated with an extra.com on the end so that the link never gets to me. Lastly, when I go to answer security questions online they ask for my birthday and when I give it to me, they tell me that is not the date in the system. When an applecare rep (not the one who hung up on me) asked me security questions on the phone all of my answers were correct....but it was when he sent me along to some higher level know it all, the guy started lecturing me about writing things down wrong, and when I chose to disagree, he disconnected. I have some pretty costly apps that I want to update now that I have IOS7 and I casnnot without the password.

  • I ordered my macbook pro online along with the apple care but apple says that the apple care with not physically be delivered. does this mean that my mac is already registered and covered? What do i need to do?

I ordered my macbook pro online along with the apple care but apple says that the care will not be phyically sent.  What does this mean?  Is there something I need to do?

Since you're ordering both the computer & AppleCare directly from Apple, Apple Care will automatically be registerd. Thus, nothing for you to do other than enjoy your computer.

  • Apple care-with or without system purchase???

so i am heavily considering switching to the Mac this summer-I am still figuring out the details but there are two things that I need to ask
    1. Does anyone know of the approximate time frame for 10.5 and should I wait untill then to buy or should i buy it this summmer and then just get the upgrade?
    2. Apple Care- If i dont purcahse it when i buy the system can i still buy apple care 3 months later or am i better off just getting it when i buy it?
    thanks

    ...the Applecare Protection Plan....
covers your unit from 3 years from date of purchase. You get 90 days of complimentary phone support (from phone line tech agents), if you call on your 91st day (for example) there is a $49 charge...good for 1 issue ...for a period of 5 days...it does not matter software or hardware...but I will say this..if it is determined that it is a hardware issue, your computer goes in for repair...if the repair technician determines it is hardware then you will be refunded the $49 charge. This applies after you 90 complimentary period & before your 1 year hardware warranty expires. You need to purchase Applecare within the original 1 yr hardware warranty...try & make sure you register your Applecare right away when you purchase it...let's say you forget and it's after your 1 year warranty, you'll get phone support once & you'll need to fax all necessary info into Apple to get them to set up your Applecare.

  • On hold for 38 minutes on apple care with no help!!

I bought my iphone 5 S from India on Nov 17 2012. For last 4 weeks it is shutting down unexpectedly . Now the battery is swelling up and breaking the case.
I now live in Johannesburg and took this to apple store in Centurion Mall, Sandton City and The Palace. No one was ready to support as phone was not bought in South Africa. (In fact staff in Sandton City was extremely rude, if i face any similar staff , I would rather throw apple in dustbin once and for ever. ) I even went to Vodacom care shop . No one was able to help me.
Finally I called +1-800-694-7466 in US , I was on call for 38 minutes with 2 different ladies and talk time was only 4-5 min  (I think they dont get it that it is an international call) .  They kept on inssting that this can be fixed in India . What I need help is :
    1) How to contact apple in email so that they understand my issue.
    2) What will it take to have APPLE honor its warranty.
    3) What are the options,
BTW, I called again and after 5 minutes was able to connect and again drop. Furrustating !!!!

Apologies but this is the lamest resolution!
You are asking me to go back to India for getting service for a device
    1. In warranty and not performing - likely manufacturing defect
    2. Sells same product in several countries including where I am .
Are we talking about product of a local grocery store or a global company ?
Worst of all , there are no directions , I have visited stores , spent time on website , called contact centre and now am posting this. If there is a mailing address than I can mail this in.
Company has to provide an alternate, if this means paying some money to South Africa store to either fix or send it to India store, even that will be OK .
I am hoping that someone from Apple will look at this post and will help me. I will continue to post this to all social media posts and pages related to Apple ( and executives) till some one gets embarrassed enough to resolve a genuine issue and not give me an advise ..... Go back to India ( which by the way sounds racist comment also)

  • Free Apple Care with Xserve purchase?

I see that the Xserve Transition Guide promises "The AppleCare Premium Service and Support program for Xserve is available as an option at time of order to extend complimentary technical support and hardware service coverage to three years from the Xserve date of purchase."
Complimentary means no charge, so I guess Apple is offering free 3-year coverage to those who buy into their dying platform, right?

The Complimentary AppleCare last for 90 days after purchase... If you want to be covered after that, you must PAY!

  • Apple Care anyone?

What do you guys think about buying the Apple Care with a new Mac Pro?
I already ordered mine w/o, but I am now considering calling to add it to my order. I am on a tight budget, is it worth it?

    Personally I'm going to wait
and see. One of the nice things about these
Discussions is that you get an idea as to what the
common issues are with a particular model so you can
decide on that when the time comes.
If I do go ahead with AppleCare it'll be purchased at
around the 10 month mark or so (making it around
mid-year 2007). The "bonus" to buying it early are as
    follows…
    1) Auto registration if you buy it with your Mac so
you don't have to be bothered with the hassle of
    doing it later.
    2) Free phone support beyond the 90 days.
    3) AppleCare CD which includes TechTool Pro.
All of which doesn't bother me. I prefer to buy later
as it allows me to spread my costs and gives me
plenty of time to shop around for a good deal.
    Ned,
I had to go online to register. Did you buy online or at an Apple Store? I bought from the Apple Store, morter and brick.

  • Can I purchase an Apple Care extended warranty for an iPad Air if I purchase it at Best Buy?

CAn I buy an Apple Care extended warranty for an iPad Air if I purchase it at Best Buy?

For me? Buying from best buy was my only option since the closest apple store is over an hour away. (and technically in another state)
Also, when I bought my iPod the warranty that Best Buy offered was far more comprehensive than Apple Care with accidental damage protection for up to 3 years.
And, when my iPad's charging port messed up, I took it into Best Buy and they swapped me out for a new one while at an Apple store I likely would have gotten a refurb.
When I swapped out my iPod 4 for my iPod 5 I took it into best buy, got $70 towards the purchase of the new device by trading in the old one.
Best Buy isn't perfect and not every store is a good one, but they are a good alternative or other option to explore for those buying devices.
I think my biggest beef when buying my iPad and later iPod at Best Buy is when I bought my iPad I bought the screen protector and they wanted to charge me to apply it...and it kinda rankled for me to be plunking down over $600 dollars to have them want to charge me $15 for a screen protector install.
