Apple care would cost if I could even get it after it was repaired.

Ok so I'm getting a pre owned Apple TV from store and I was just wondering how much it would cost to get fixed. Also, how much the Apple care would cost if I could even get it after it was repaired

The ATV is $99 brand new.
Apple TV model
Out-of-Warranty Service
Apple TV 2nd and 3rd Generation
$59
Apple TV 1st Generation
$169
I cannot imagine it being worth the hassle of purchasing AppleCare for such an inexpensive device.  AppleCare+ would not be applicable.  If you really want AppleCare for the ATV, it is $29 and must be purchased while the device is still under warranty.

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
    Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.
Policy is policy. Get over it.

  • I have apple care for my iPhone 5. My screen smashed. I was wondering how much it will cost me for them to fix it or replace it. Or is it covered under applecare

AppleCare Protection Plan does not cover physical damage and you will have to pay for an out of warranty replacement.
AppleCare+ also does not cover physical damage but does give you 2 incidents to use for a situation such as this which provides a further discount to a normal out of warranty replacement fee.

  • If I cracked my screen on my iPhone within the 90 day Apple Care, would i be able to replace the phone?

So I recentely replaced my iPhone 4S because the screen cracked and I was told that I have 90 days of Apple Care. Due to unforseen events my phone scren cracked again and I am still within the 90 days,  would I still be able to replace the phone? Also what would it cost?

Accidental damage is not covered under the iPhone warranty.  If you purchased an AppleCare+ extended warranty for your iPhone, then you could use one of the $49 replacement "incidents" included in that package to replace/repair your iPhone.  Other than that, you are looking at an "Out of Warranty" repair.  I would have to check since I never owned an iPhone 4S, but it is probably $199 or maybe $149.
I would suggest making an appointment at an Apple Genius Bar.  They will be able to tell you what it would cost to repair, and you will have the option to decline the repair if you feel it is too high.

  • Apple Care and 1st generation MBP-Should you get it?

So, how many of you have got Apple Care?
I have a 1st generation MBP (I got one a few weeks after they came out).
Mine still has the whine, but I’m able to silence it with the mirror widget which I’ve been using for nearly a year. (I realize this can now be fixed, but I can’t send my computer off for repair for any length of time).
$349.00 for Apple Care is a lot of money—heck, these days you can buy a brand new PC laptop for this kind of money (albeit a bad one, but whatever).
I’m a little worried of having problems because my MBP is a first generation and it has had the problems we all have heard about on this forum (heat, whine, bad battery, warped lid, etc).
My thinking is, if I DON’T get Apple Care and I need to get my MBP fixed, and it costs MORE than $349, wouldn’t it just be worth it to get a new computer if it needs THAT kind of work? AND, who here thinks that there could possibly be a repair that would warrant $349?
How many of you people with 1st generation MBPs have had problems and actually utilized Apple Care? I know a lot of us are getting close to the ONE YEAR mark and need to make a decision if we’re going to thrown down $349 or not.
Just looking for good insight, knowledge, statistics and/or opinions on the subject to help make the best decision.
    Thanks.

I went for the Apple Care contract on my original PB17" that I got in 2003 and was glad I did. I bought the contract, oh, about 8 months into the first year's warranty.
I never had super major problems with it, but everything little thing that happened made it worthwhile.
    For example:
    (1) I started hearing "clicks" coming from my hard drive about 18 months into ownership. Apple replaced the HD with no questions asked.
    (2) I had some problems with the power adapter after about 2 1/2 years. Apple sent me a new one.
I don't know if it came to $300 worth of stuff or not, but it probably did in total. And it was reassuring.
I have a question about those extended credit card warranties though, since somebody mentioned it.
I bought my new MBP with a credit card that offers "one extra year on any product that is warrantied for three years or less".
I assume that means that I get two years now instead of 1 on my standard warranty.
But does that also mean I would get FOUR years instead of 3 if I go for the Apple Care warranty?
And how do those usually work? Like if I have to replace the LCD I shell out, what? A thousand dollars and the credit car company pays me back?

  • IPhone 5 lock button not working at all. If I'm in the one year warranty still but don't have apple care will I have to pay to get it fixed or will it be covered

I have a iPhone 5 and about a month ago my lock button stopped working. It takes me about ten tries to power it back on or to lock it. If I'm still in my one year warranty will I have to pay to get it fixed? I didn't purchase apple care though so I'm wondering if it's going to cost me to get it fixed or if it's still covered because of the one year warranty? Thank you!

If it's due to a manufacturing defect, the warranty will cover it. If it's due to accidental damage, it'll cost to get it fixed unless it happened during an authorized repair.

  • I have an iphone 4s it cracked and i bought apple care for it but i want to get another phone

i bought an iphone 4s about 2 years ago, i bought apple care for it. it is deeply cracked and also cracked on the inside. can i change it for an iphone 6? how much would i have to pay? the same thing happened before, i went to the apple store and payed $50 for a new one. but i would like to now update it to a newer phone. thank you

Sell the refurbished phone that you got in exchange for your broken device and use the proceeds to buy an iPhone 6. Another alternative is Apple has a recycle program, and you can turn it in for some minor credit and use that towards the iPhone 6.

  • It keeps saying that I need to reboot my system from an earlier version but when I reboot my system, there is no change and I to completely remove firefox so I could even get back online, How am I supposed to use your program when it does this?!

when I upgraded to 4.0 the program states "You must reboot your system to an earlier version" and it locks you out of the internet unless you have another server proxy

Since then, apple computer has had inconsistent online experiences. Sometimes it is not possible to get online while front PC has not problem. This is annoying for the apple user. And the problem started only after updating Firefox. Please help! Thnx.

  • Is there a way to find out my Apple Care serial?

Firstly, I'm new here so if this is in the wrong section then I apologise now
I recieved my MacBook Pro 13" in September '10 for my 18th Birthday off my Dad. My Dad says he remembers buying Apple Care for my MacBook but because I was an Apple N00b back then I didnt realise that I had to register it online with the code from the box, and my Dad is not sure where the Apple Care box is or if he even has it anymore!! Is there anyway to check if he did buy Apple Care without having to turn the house upside down and find the receipt? And if so is there anyway to locate that serial?
I have logged onto both my Apple account and my Dad's and neither of us of have the Mac registered.
If I went into an Apple Store with my Mac would they be able to tell me?
Any help or advice on this would be great, so thanks in advance!
    Kieran.

  • Broken ipod and apple care question

    Hi
I bought my 2nd gen nano 7 months ago and it is now broken. I've done everything I could beside opening it. I wanted to know if i bought apple care now and then send them my ipod right after if that would be problem?
btw the problem is that my songs gets played at 1/4 of the speed (makes the songs intrusting but...)
    thanx
    vince

I don't think the OP dropped his in the bathtub.
Hopefully you haven't tried to turn it on, connect it to the computer or anything like that.
If you are good with electronic devices you can take the iPod apart and set it in a cool, dry place and leave it there for several days. For pictures on how to take it apart go to http://www.ifixit.com.
If you aren't good at taking things apart, just set it aside or buy some silica gel packets (like the ones that come in boxes with things you buy, but you need new ones) and put them, and the iPod, in a sealed plastic bag and let it sit for a couple of days.
After it dries, connect it to power (a wall charger is preferable) for at least 30 minutes then Reset it (hold down the menu and center buttons for at least 6 seconds). If it starts up connect it to your computer, Restore it in iTunes, and then fully charge it.

  • How to contact Apple Care since the recall?

Just my luck that I need Apple Care today of all days. You can't get through via telephone all you get is the message to call back. Need to see if I can get a new key board as the current is about half blank. Can't even get through on the support page trying to check my Apple Care status. With the battery recall every Apple website or telephone is jammed. Is there any way to contact Apple Care other than the telephone? Or do we just have to wait until next week when things calm down?
At this point I can't even find out when my Apple Care expires and I know it's getting close to the end of the 3 years.
    Thanks for any help.
    Michael

You could pop-in to the Apple retail store:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/countryclubplaza/
The Mac Genius there can get a replacement keyboard for you. In addition, you can put your serial number in the field under "About Your Support Coverage" on the main Apple.com/Support Web page. This will tell you how much longer you have on your AppleCare Protection Plan. It seems to be working right now for me.
