Apple claims Netflix needs to Update
I just completed my Apple Tech call this morning: it took 65min to eventually hear Apple blame Netflix as cause of problem and nothing could be done on Apple's end -- no foreseeable OS update to resolve the issue -- and actually suggests that Netflix update their platform to meet Yosemite OS.
Netflix, of course, blames Apple. Netflix's solution is to download Chrome or Firefox (bypass Safari) for Yosemite OS Users. Apple Tech confers with this solution and suggests download of Chrome for immediate success.
Also, in my opinion, Apple Customer Service has diminished their reputation. They didn't deal with the issue straight on, but, instead, chose to run the Customer thru bogus ineffective "solutions" and act like this is the first they've heard of the issue; hard to believe.
The best solution Apple Tech could advise is very simple and honest: inform the Customer straight away that it's now known that Safari on Yosemite OS is not compatible with Netflix at this time, so for immediate satisfaction, download Chrome or Firefox browser.
I am having the same problem. I am surprised though that people are blaming Apple for what is a Netflix problem. Several months ago I discontinued Netflix service because of poor playback quality. Often I couldn't even get Standard Definition playback much less HD. I had no such problems with Amazon Prime, Youtube of even nfl.com. I called Netflix support. They blamed my ISP, my router, Apple and for all I know the man in the moon. Just this morning I accepted their offer for another one month free trial. I read they now support HTML5 playback on Safari/Yosemite and wanted to see how it worked. For about an hour and a half playback was fine. Then suddenly I get this error no matter what I try to play back. I called Netflix support and predictably they blame it all on Apple. As a workaround I tried using Firefox with Silverlight playback and guess what ? I still can't get HD playback !

I always run a Time Machine backup before updating anything and recommend you run a backup as well. Paid apps should migrate over without any problem. If you have problems with VPP codes not transfering over properly, you can talk to your Apple SE or contact VPP for Education support and they can help you. While I haven't experienced any problems with updating, its never a guarantee that others will have the same experience.

An app I never purchased and therefore do not have on my computer claims it needs an update.
I downloaded the new Mavericks OS when it first became available on the Mac App Store. Ever since then, I get a daily reminder from my app store saying that Angry Birds has an update. I have never purchased this game from the Mac App Store so naturally I was confused. I hit "update," typed in my Apple ID information and then an error pops up saying that this game has not been purchased on this Apple ID, which is correct. My problem is that I do not know how to remove this game/update off of my update list. It's incredibly annoying to be reminded every day about an update that isn't real. I just want to delete it from my update list but I do not know how.
Thanks for the help!You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds," or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test. -

I updated my Apple ID, but need to update my icloud ID?
How doe I update my ICloud account ID? I had to change internet providers, and was able to change my main Apple ID, but not my ICloud ID.
To change the iClou ID on your phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from your phone, not from iCloud), then sign back in with your changed ID.

I conneced the Apple TV and it worked fine at first. It has worked well for some time. We are using them in our school this year, as well as converting to all apple products. I have been able to pull up my computer screen through Apple TV onto our projectors. However, tonight when I started apple TV, the mirroring icon came up, and everything seemed fine. Then a message came up that the Apple TV Box needed an update. I clicked on the button to run it now, and it seemed fine. The mirroring worked for about 5 minutes after the update, then I got a screen that had a picture of the Apple TV Box and a USB cord directed toward a picture of the iTunes icon. The light on the frontof the component flashed, and I couldn't go to the menu at all. I wouldn't do anything. I no longer cold see the Airplay/mirroring icon on my computer either. I tried to shut everything off and reboot the computer and the Apple TV box. However, none of this worked.

I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?) touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

I had changed my Desktop image earlier but when the "Installing 1 item" window came up it changed back to the back ground that you first see on your desktop after installation.
Leopard installs updates a bit differently. If it's simply an application that does not change system files, it installs them like before, without having to restart. If the update is to the system, then you must immediately "restart," It then goes to that stars and purple screen to perform the installation. Before, it would do the installation while you still had control of the Mac and would prompt you to restart when it finished the installation. This change probably make things more secure and reliable, because you aren't allowed to do other things on the Mac while system updates are being installed.

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:

I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.

Hey Edgar, how exactly did you do the updates? Are you running iTunes 11.2.2? And you iPod 5 is still running iOS 6.1.2 as your tag shows? or are you running iOS 7.1.1? More info would be helpful. My iPhone 5s on ios 8.1.2 is stuck at Apple logo or recovery mode.. To fix this issue, i need to update it to ios 8.2 through itunes.. I want to ask that my data i.e. Photos and other personal data would be removed after updating it or not..?
if yes then how can i save my data or get out of recovery mode.. Is there any safe mode or something like that on which i could access my data..
P.S. I have not taken any backup of my iPhone on itunes..
Please help me sort out this issue..Recovery mode doesn't mean that all your data is already lost. You only lose your data if you restore it.
When you plug the phone is into iTunes hold down the home button. iTunes may then give you the option JUST to update the software first. This should not get rid of any data.
However, if iTunes is only giving you the option to RESTORE and update, then you will lose your data I'm afraid.
