Apple color monitor color problem

look at a picture of my monitor, what can do?

Looks like a graphics card issue. Either it doesn't have enough RAM, or is unsupported.
Besides, that monitor interface inside Color is completely inaccurate. It's only for reference. Color is designed to work with an IO device and send a signal out to a broadcast monitor or HDTV. If you graded by judging what you saw on that monitor (if it was working) you'd be way off...it'd look very different when you exported a master file.
The IO devices that work with iMacs are AJA and Decklink Thunderbolt models...only if your iMac has Thunderbolt.  The only firewire devices are no longer made (and they were crazy expensive)

  • I have lost my Keyframe bars in Apple Color

Classic Apple Color problem.  I have lost my keyframing bar.  Apparently, it has slipped too far under the little yellow line at the bottom of the app.  I can't pull it up with the other bars (or the tiny grey rectangle on those bars).  I know it's down there and working because the keyframing is still active on the image and there is a little arrow pointing downwards above this yellow line, but - impossible to pull it back up.  Anyone know how to reset this?
Further, I have tried switching to Hours, Minutes and Seconds.  Still no go.  What gives?

Four different forums, including Apples's and no one knows the answer?
I have 250 edits on a timeline.  A project I have been working on for the last month and I can't pull up my keyframe bars.  This is crazy.

  • Pavilion gv laptop colors on monitor color problem

I'm having color problems on my laptop. While the colors on my screen aren't terrible, most of the color/textures appear washed out and muted in comparison to other laptops I own. I've tried adjusting the brightness and calibrating the colors but it didn't fix the problem. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Thank you for your help.

    Hey @crawford810 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the colours on your notebook look muted.
Could you please tell me which notebook model you have and the installed operating system? For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? To see which version of Windows you are using click here: Which Windows operating system am I running?
For an issue like this you will want to test an external monitor to see if the issue is coming from the display, the GPU, or from Windows.
You will want to make sure your GPU and BIOS are up to date. You can download the most recent drivers and BIOS at the HP - Drivers & Downloads website.
I look forward to your reply!

  • A color problem in Apple's publishing App

I was wondering if you could help me with this problem,I really need some help, and here it is:
There is a Color problem in Mac publishing applications like Pages and Keynote, including iBooks Author, which really confuse me a lot。
When you use a certain color space(sRGB IEC61966-2.1 in this case)to create some colors with Apps like Illustrator CS6,Indesign CS6 & Photoshop CS6 etc. ,they look totally fine。BUT when you use iBooks Author (V2.0)to create the very same color with the very same color space, colors still look fine in the color panel, and here comes the problem:they look totally lousy in the actual document!!In fact, they look much lighter and faded。(See Image 1&2)
    Above:Image 1
    Above:Image 2
And this is also terrible with photos you import。(See Image 3)
    Above:Image 3
Please tell me what I can do to solve this problem。I know maybe this is some sort of “basic” and “general” knowledge, but I really need your help。And I can't thank you enough if you can provide some effective solutions。

As far as I can see,  the colour pallet and how colours are seen in any app on YOUR machine will depend on the computers System Preferences>Displays>Colour - choose your preferred setting.
I suggest first that you ensure that your colour profile settings are the same ( as your computer)  in whatever Adobe application or in fact any outside image processor you use.
Creating or using a colour profile in Adobe and having a different profile on your system - will tend  to  give different colour hues.
A point also to remember is whatever you set up and is  transferred to your product... when seen on an iPad may well be totally different again due to peculiarities and contrast / brighness setting of the iPad user.

  • Color problem with ProPhoto RGB color space

    Hi, everyone,
I have wery special problem I think. I use MacBook pro 15" with retina display, adobe Photoshop CC and when I export RAW (from Nikon D7000) from Lightroom 5 to Photoshop with settings: 16 bit TIF, color space: ProPhoto RGB I have a problem with displaying the correct colors. As you can see in this picture:
My problem are some "green" artefacts in absolutely black and white picture. I tried myself to solve this problem and found the following facts: when I convert picture into Adobe RGB or sRGB color space is everything OK - without green artefacts.
But here is one important fact: I have calibrated monitor by datacolor spyder4elite and problem with ProPhoto RGB incorrect color displaying is only when the color calibration configuration is loaded. When I change my display calibration to standard apple color LCD profile than is everything OK.
But using uncalibrated monitor and also Adobe RGB color space are no right solutions for me.
My question is why I have problem with displaying ProPhoto RGB color space in photoshop under calibrated monitor profile and can anybody help me please?
    Thanks for answers.

That's a classic example of the basic problem with 16 bit color. There is no solution that I know of.

  • How can I connect HDTV to iMac to use with Apple Color?

    Hey guys,
I use Color application a lot and the colors don't look the same outside of Color app once they come back to FCP the project is on a dvd...
Is it possible to use an LCD HDTV with the iMac for Apple Color to see the colors would actually look on a TV?
If yes, please let me know...
If not, then is there a workaround?
    Thanks in Advance

Ben...no one mentioned the MXO2. Talking about the original Matrox MXO...connects via DVI. And it has Component and SDI outputs. Works with professional broadcast monitors. On that note, the MXO2 also has those connections.
And a GOOD HDTV will work for many non-broadcast workflows. Not everyone does broadcast work, so they don't all need broadcast monitors.
But, I'm sorry to say that the original MXO doesn't work with the latest batch of iMacs, nor the generation before this. It is old hardware designed for older machines. An iMac just won't work for this purpose. Sorry.

  • PLEASE HELP! Apple Color crashes on timeline import!

I'm at a complete loss right now; no idea what I should do.
Running OS X 10.6.3, Final Cut Pro 7, and Color 1.5
On one specific FCP project, I attempt to send a sequence to Color in order to be graded. Color opens and begins importing the project. Once Color finishes importing the XML data and the "Saving Project" bar gets to 100%, Color closes and tells me that it has quit unexpectedly. This happens before any of the images/scopes appear on screen.
Color will load other projects just fine. I have tried copying sequences, duplicating project files, batch re-capturing the original media, etc within FCP but with the same result.

My stock answer to a mystery crash when COLOR is otherwise operating normally with other sequences, is that there is something unique (a poison pill) in that sequence.
With the app crashing at the point it does, it seems to suggest a confusion or ambiguity within the EDL/XML process. It could be any number of issues with the way the sequence is constructed; its content, filter load, third-party plugins, unsupported media/codecs, nested sequences, and so on.
The traditional troubleshooting procedure is to start cutting up the sequence and sending portions to try to isolate a problem area. Cut it in half and send the halves separately. If you get a launch, great... try the other one and see if it crashes... or vice versa, then subdivide the crashed half again... and so on.
    Report your findings, please.

  • No preview or scopes information in Apple Color

This is the second time I've had this issue in around 3 months. I had initially solved the issue but had to do a full clean install of OSX and also my Final Cut Studio package. It's occured again for no apparent reason and to be honest I don't want to waste another few days doing a clean install of both my operating system and editing package again.
The issue is, my project in FCP 7 is ready for grading and when I click 'Send To > Apple Color', it brings the project over into Color and every clip can be scrubbed through on the timeline. However there are no previews showing up of the clips in the preview window, as well as no colour information/data showing up in the scopes. It's as if there is not video within my project even though there is a good 9 or 10 minutes of footage that needs to be graded!
I want to sort this problem as soon as possible due to this being a project that is of utmost value!
I've attached an image of the issue to this post. Thanks in advance.

Ladies and gents I'd just like to let you know I've solved this issue! It was a bit of a eureka moment but it seemed to do the trick. I'll explain below.
Basically I have a short section of the film that was shot on Super 8mm film. The Telecine I had meant the footage came back as a perfect 4:3 square, but I wanted a more traditional smooth/feathered/curved/rounded frame over the footage, so I'd created a PNG file with a black border and transparent centre to overlay on top.
For no apparent reason I decided to delete this image file and try sending the project to Color. Low and behold it's worked no problem and I can now finally see my video in the video preview section, as well as the colour data and information in the scopes.
A massive thank you to everyone who commented on this thread! Thanks for your time.

  • Lightroom 4 color problem

I imported tiff images into Lightroom 4 that were scanned by DigMyPics.com.  The color  of the images look good on the Windows 7 photo viewer.  It looks horrible in Lightroom 4.  My monitor is callibrated, the import develope setting is set to "none" , the box is unchecked "apply auto tone adjustments".   I think that the windows viewer is showing the accurate color of the scan and LR is not.  I don't think DigMyPics would send this awful color.  What could the issue be?

Yes, that certainly looks like a problem with the Lightroom rendering. Skin tones and red in general is clearly off, while Windows Photo Viewer looks good.
I'm almost certain this is a problem with the monitor profile. As troubleshooting, try to set sRGB as monitor profile (or Adobe RGB if your monitor is wide gamut), and see if the difference persists. But try to recalibrate first.
    What calibrator and what monitor?

  • Photoshop - Motion - DVDSP Color Problem

This message is crossposted in the Motion Forum because I'm not sure where the solution is to be found...
I'm putting together a dvd and I wanted to create transition animations to go between the menus. I've run into a bit of a color problem, however. To explain:
I created my main menu as a layered photoshop document (8-bit RGB, NTSC colorspace). I brought that menu into Motion, preserving all layers. I animated those layers in motion so that at the end of the animation they were another menu on the dvd, then I exported the last frame of the animation, brought it back into photoshop, and made everything line up so that it precisely matched the final frame of the animation, then saved that PSD as a new layered document. Finally, in DVD Studio Pro, I brought in the two Menu PSDs and the animated transition.
The problem I'm running into is that the color on the transition animation is washed out and somewhat desaturated compared to the menu PSDs. Rather than the seamless transition from layered menu PSD to animation and back to layered menu PSD, you can see this altered color "pop" on the animation.
Here's what I've checked and tried:
-I've exported the motion project as every codec that made any kind of sense (Animation NTSC, Apple Pro Video NTSC, etc).
-I've brought the Motion project directly into DVD Studio Pro, rather than exporting it.
-Using the color inspector in both Photoshop and Motion, I can see that all RGB values match exactly as they should.
-When I exported a frame of the animation and brought it back into Photoshop to create the second layered menu, the color matched exactly. In fact, I did the alignment using the "difference" layer mode, and there was no color shift at all.
    So... any ideas?
Also: I'm going from these layered menus to a video track (first frame matches the layered menu) to another layered menu (matching the final frame of the video track)... that is the most sensible way to have animated transitions between menus, right?
Thanks in advance for any insights.
    -W

Well, I found a solution... DVDSP didn't like the image in NTSC, but it seems to work with Generic RGB, provided I redo all of the animation from scratch using the same Generic RGB PSDs. A bit of a pain, but I suppose that's why I did this test after completing only one of the many animations the project will demand.
    Thanks everyone for the insights.

  • Apple Color Picker Erase Swatch function no longer works.

It was always possible to erase one of the swatches in the ubiquitous Apple Color Picker by dragging a white square over the swatch square you wanted to erase. Now that function doesn't work anymore. Very odd. You can add new colors as always, you just can't erase them. In any application where I use the Color Picker this function no longer works. For example Pixelmator, Rapidweaver, etc.
    Any ideas?

Sorry, I read too much into it. I guess I couldn't imagine it was just scrolling. I was thinking you were talking about going from page to page with a swipe gesture.
Given that, their software is either broken or something is interfering. Any other programs have a problem with two-finger scrolling?

  • Apple Color changes the brightness of the original image

    Hi,
I'm just new to the software and have a problem.
I open dpx files in apple color and send the sequence to final cut pro, everything is ok but the sequence is always brighter than the original one, so when I try to combine the two images (the original video and the sequence that comes from apple color) they don't match brightness-wise...
Apple Color automatically changes some values of the dpx files, but I don't know how to prevent it.
I'd appriciate if you could help

  • How can i import my color editing from apple color to fcp x

    Hello mates,
I edited my project in FCPX 10.0.8 than i export XML file and open it with DaVinci Resolve to export it again for Apple Color. So far so good no problem. I edit my color in that program but when i said send to final cut pro it was opening with the old projects. I mean i can't see my color editing in that project. I can't figure out how can i import that file in fcp x. I tried to export an XML from color, but i couldn't open it with Davinci nor FCPX.
So i will be very glad if you help me..

FCPX does not read Color XML exports. You would need to export the finished footage in Color and reimport that into X. Resolve is free and offers a far more integrated workflow with X than Color ever will (as it's long been discontinued).

  • PLEASE HELP!!! APPLE COLOR PROFILES

I am currently editing DVCAM and DVCPRO NTSC and HD content using Final Cut Pro 5. For the most part, I am monitoring the color correction process using three monitors: an Apple LCD monitor, a Sony CRT computer monitor, and a FireWire-output to a DVCAM deck, which is then sending S-Video to an upconverting Sony 1080i CRT Television.
The Sony 1080i CRT Television has been carefully calibrated to look like a best-case "consumer" monitor using the THX Optimizer DVD as well as some other off-the-shelf DVD calibration tools. It HAS NOT been ISF-Certified, but that's ok in my opinion, since I produce DVDs that are viewed primarily on consumer TVs without ANY calibration (sad, but true).
My question is this: between my CRT TV, CRT Monitor, and LCD Monitor, my colors are totally inconsistent. I have noticed that in the Apple System Preferences, I can select from a variety of color profiles for the computer displays, including various versions of RGB, NTSC (1953) and SMPTE-C. Does anyone know which of these profiles, if any, I should assign to my various monitors? I've especially noticed the difference between the LCD and the CRT displays, and I'm wondering if there is some way to compensate for this.
Thanks very much in advance for your professional advice!

Not the answer you want, but, the easiest and best solution is to simply ignore the colour on all but your television monitor.
