Apple compass app

Since updating new version ios7 for iphone 5,im so confusing how this happen that the apple compass app is not shown on home screen and i can see this only in settings but no way u can open or can this transfer from settings to home screen, does anybody out there have same problems,i have read some reviews said some have issues like mine is missing apple compass app so wierd...any suggestions how to  get this app.....thanks

First of all, an idle threat is one that a person has no intention of carrying out. In the past 16 months that I have had this phone I have become less and less satisfied and found that it is like much of today's technology....over rated and under performing. The one thing that I have never been accused of is not wanting, or not giving help but when a company makes itself unavailable to resolve issues and leaves it to forums run by users helping users, it speaks more about the company than anything else they could do. As I said, I do not make idle threats and I did not threaten you in any way. Guess I'll call this topic done with as it is not and was not the intent to get a war started

  • Does the iPod touch come with a compass app?

I do not have the Apple Compass app - is it only available for certain models?

Only iOS devices with a cellular radio/GPS have a digital compass and thus only those device have the Compass app. No iPods have a cellular radio/GPS since then do not have a digital compass and thus none have the Compass app.

  • My accelerometer fail in compass app and some games

Pls help me I don't know how make the accelerometer works in minion rush, in compass app I can't calibrate the compass

    Hi..
You can report the issue to Apple here.

  • Can I remove the compass app?

The golfing powers that be have determined we can no longer use our Golf GPS apps in competition because Apple have a pre-installed compass on the phone. Hopefully if the golfers generate enough fuss about this then Apple will release a software update that allows its removal. Its not rocket science Apple... but it is already causing a major talking point.

Removing the compass app would not stop the compass working in Golf GPS apps. The compass is a hardware feature with software to view its output. The phone needs to know which way it is pointing to provide an accurate GPS view.

  • Why is the "compass" app located in "newsstand" folder?

    Hi....
Just wondering why the compass app is located in the newsstand folder on my iphone 4S?
Initially the compass app was on the main screen, but after I backed it up from my old ipod touch, it then appeared in the newsstand folder.
I've tried moving it on the iphone, also via my Mac when it's connected, but it won't let me move it.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Ah,
It seems I'm not alone here then.

  • No Compass App in Utilities Folder

Isn't the Compass App supposed to be in the Utilities folder? I only see Clock, Calculator and Voice Memos in the folder.
I have IOS version 6.1.3 on my iPod Touch 4.

The iPod does not have a compass app.

  • Compass app on the ipad

I might be blind , ignorant , stupid or all three but ... After upgrading my ipad 3 to ios7 I can't find the much celebrated compass. I've always had one so I have no idea whether it's a native app or not. If it's it native will it exist after the upgrade?
I'm assuming it's not native. But everything says the compass app is built into ios7.
Really I just want to play with the spirit level.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I wish apple would stop making grandiose announcements about features that sound all encompassing but really aren't. For us poor people who are merely users not tech heads it's very frustrating. How about a little note that says it's not available on the ipad. Instead everything says it's a feature of ios7 - no fine print saying but not on the ipad version of ios7. Without either the fine print or inside knowledge it's intuitive to assume that I will find a nice spirit level there once I've upgraded.
    Thanks again

  • Compass App Placement

The Compass app on my new iPhone 5 is found in the Newstand app. It does not show up as a standalone app in the menu on the Home screen, or any screen. Is this normal, or did I do something to remove it as a standalone app? Can it be moved so as to be a standalone app? Thanks in advance.

First, turn your phone off, then back on...is the compass app out of the Newsstand app? If not, reset your phone: Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • Compass App: Where is it?

Compass was one of the most useful apps on my 9860. BlackBerry native Compass is not available on Z3, neither can I download from BlackBerry World. Is it because of hardware requirements? Is there any working Compass app for Z3? Those in BlackBerry World are no good. Anyone?

Check all of your home pages and folders. You cannot delete the native iOS apps. If you cannot find it looking, check search and see if you can locate it. If it shows up in search, it should also show what folder it is in. If you still cannot find it that way, then try a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and release. If that doesn't bring it back, last step is to go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • Why isn't the compass app for iOS 7 on my iPod touch 5?

Updated my iPod touch to iOS 7.03, but I don't see the compass app? It says it's built in on the apple website.

Can you find it in the app store? I found others of the 'built in' apps for download. Such as iMovie, Remote, AirPort utility etc.
'Built in' may be the wrong term for them to use.

  • IOS 7.1 Compass app level issue

    Hi,
Ehh.... did iOS 7.1 just break the Compass app level display? I can see that the black & white level bar is pretty much updating as supposed to when rotating/tilting the phone, whereas the degrees don't update properly at all. Likewise the phone pretends to be properly leveled whereas the level bar clearly shows this isn't the case. This issue happends with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s - all updated to iOS 7.1.
Is this a known issue or something specific for my THREE mobiles?
    Examples
    Best regards,
    Petri

I'm not sure what you have done but the compass and level are working fine on my iPhone 5 using iOS 7.1.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Apple Enterprise App Store & DPS

We are a fairly small ad agency with a large corporate client that has an Apple Enterprise App Store they use to distribute iPad apps to their employees. The marketing rep we work with has asked us to create a brochure along with an iPad app using the same content as the brochure. Our first thought was that this would be a great way for us to dive in and learn the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite and use the Single Edition version for our client app. But, despite our best efforts, we haven't been able to get a definitive answer as to whether or not the DPS Single Edition product can create an app that can be distributed with an Apple Enterprise App Store. An IT guy from our client said they need an .ipa file along with a plist file and the app has to be signed with a certificate that allows distribution of apps without the App Store. No idea what all that means but I need to find out if we can do all of that with DPS Single Edition. Thoughts anyone?

Look, I'm not trying to get frustrated, but no matter how you ask the question, the answer is the same. There is no such thing as an enterprise "store." What there is, is the enterprise developer's program, which allows you create an distribution .ipa file, that you can host somewhere (behnind a username and password security portal) for users to download outside of the store.
Here is the Adobe help article explaining how it's done, but again, it can't be done with Single Edition. The license doesn't allow for it. The best you can do with Single Edition is distribute it to 100 iPads by side loading it after provisioning the iPads via the Apple Developer portal. http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/creating-enterprise-signed-viewer-app .html
And sorry for getting frustrated, but I answered your question twice and I really do this every day as part of my career. Your question is one that comes up a lot as it would seem like private distribution would be simple, but because of the licensing restrictions, the enterprise license is the only license that will allow the creatation of an enterprise iOS developer signed application.

  • I can't connect to my iTunes library on my Macbook Pro using the Apple Remote app on my iPhone 4S. Why?

    Hi all,
I've been looking through the forums for help with this problem. There are a couple of threads with similar problems, but no solved threads and the discussion doesn't seem to go anywhere... As far as I can tell, it's been causing a lot of annoyance for many users, including myself, but it looks like the community's in the dark about why it's happening!
I'm trying to connect to my iTunes library using the Apple Remote app on my new iPhone 4S. As you may know, there are two ways to do this:
Connect via Home Sharing by setting up Home Sharing on both iTunes and the iPhone, or
Connecting directly to iTunes using a four digit passcode.
I've tried both methods, and neither work!
Here's what happens for each method:
From the Remote app start screen, I tap the "Turn on Home Sharing" button. I enter my Apple ID details (which are definitely correct), and get a confirmation message on my phone saying "Home Sharing is on using [my email address]. To control iTunes: Choose Turn On Home Sharing from the Advanced menu in iTunes on your computer." I then go to iTunes, turn on Home Sharing, enter my Apple ID again and get a confirmation message saying "Home Sharing is now on", etc. However, there's no connection formed between my iPhone and my Macbook Pro - the Remote app just shows a message saying "Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes on your computer or on Apple TV using the account [my email address].
From the Remote app start screen, I tap "Add an iTunes Library", and the four digit passcode is shown on my phone. I select the new "Quintin's iPhone" item that appears in the iTunes sidebar under "Devices", and enter the passcode on the screen that appears. Once I've entered it, I get a confirmation message saying "Your Remote is now able to control iTunes" with an "Okay" button. Clicking the "Okay" button makes the screen and the sidebar item disappear completely. On my phone, a message that says "Looking for ..." is shown on the screen with a spinning loading wheel, but nothing happens. After a minute or two, it stops and simply says "Could not find".
After trying both methods, I went through all of the troubleshooting steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1741 . Absolutely no effect.
I should mention that I was experiencing similar problems on my old iPhone 3Gs with an older version of iTunes. I thought it might have been some kind of hardware fault and expected it to clear up once I got the new phone, but the problem is still there. It's a new phone, a new computer, a newer version an iTunes... even a different network I'm trying to connect to it on. Bizarre!
I've even tried using the Mobile Air Mouse remote application instead. However again, the Mobile Air Mouse app on my phone can't pick up the Mobile Air Mouse server on my Mac.
I'm kind of at the end of my rope here. Anyone?

I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2.  My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone).  I  was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.
