Apple Configurator 1.3 Update Crashes Constantly
Just installed 1.3 but boy do I wish I hadn't! Can no longer open Configurator. Crashes on launch without fail. Many others have the same problem after reading some reviews in the App Store.
Anyone know how to fix this, or even if it is fixable? I launch with no iPad's connected.
I found someone who posted Apple Configurator 1.2.1 on another forum, in case you want to roll back until 1.3.1 comes out...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ldzpp9ajy7y82k/Apple%20Configurator%201.2.1.zip
You'll have to delete ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator (probably back it up first) or else the downgraded app won't open, but unfortunately you'll probably lose your supervised devices.
Hope this helps!

New to this process and we are setting up bays for IPads in an education environment. I'm able to load a profile (unsupervised) onto an IPad but as soon as I choose supervise and prepare the IPad the Apple Configurator crashes with the error message below. I'm not sure how to proceed from this - running OSX 10.7.5 and configurator 1.3.1. The Mac book pro was bought to supervise the IPads and not used for anything else. Have reinstalled configurator without any luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I thought it was the updates to the iTunes store and the release of iOS 7. However, today, it is still happening. I was partway through setting up iPads for a 1:1 initiative. The first 11 worked fine, then the strangeness started. Most of it seemed to relate to the iTunes store, but the worst part is exactly as you describe, and I have the same setup. MacBook Pro specifically to manage the iPads. Configurator crashes whenever a device is hooked up to "supervise" even if it is fresh out of the box. The details on the crash also show the "Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'ACUUnpackFirmwareOperation cannot fail the operation and without setting an error'"
Oh, did I mention I have to have the iPads set up next week?

Apple Configurator will not update
Apple Configurator was downloaded by different user and now i am unable to update. I'm thinking i should delete the app and reinstall on my mac book pro but, I dont want to lose the image files that already exist.. Can anyone give me some advise?
Deleting the app won't cause its files to be deleted. Back up all data before making any changes.

Apple configurator prompt to update iTunes when it's already the latest version
Hi there! We were trying out the Apple Configurator to help us in mass deploying our iPads for education purpose. However, when we tried to sign in with the Apple id it keeps prompting us to update our iTunes to the latest version. But problem is our iTunes was the latest version. Because of this we are not able to import any .ipa apps into it. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks!
Our iMac is running on Mac OS X 10.10 Yosmite
iTunes is currently version 12.0.1.26
Our apps are all freeware. No license.
Our iPads were mostly iPad 2 and iPad w/ Retina DisplayFrom what you have posted, it would appear that you can Upgrade to Snow Leopard for USD $29
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
See Here to Check that your Mac meets All the System Requirements...
Snow Leopard Specs:

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
OS: OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1
Apple Configurator
Version 1.7.1 (550)
Since upgrading both the OS and Apple Configurator I can no longer select the option to not update the iOS when I prepare a device. It is currently selected as When update is available. Also the option appears to be grayed out. Any thoughts?Google maps is now available in the app store and the carrier update that your refering to was for cell data usage while on wifi. It is perfectly fine to do the update. No issues that i had from that update.

HT202436 Apple Configurator not installing updated app versions
Hello all,
I have noticed that when i complete a batch of Ipads using Apple Configurator that apps installed on ipads are marked to be updated.
Before commencing using Configurator I have no apps which require updating in iTunes so I am wondering do i need to "purge" older versions of apps and import updated versions.
Configurator version 1.7.1
Itunes version 12.1
Mac OS 10.10.2
(Imac 2.66 early 2009)
thanks in advance,
JonFollowing advice - i have removed and reimported updated applications to Apple Configurator this worked without a hitch - i was able to import the latest versions of 10 applications but..
Upon refreshing one device I was not able to install Garageband even though the codes and application previously loaded about 5 minutes before. I then stopped the update because it had failed. After a period of time process stops cleanly. Message in configurator is "insufficient license codes" to install the Garageband.
Ok getting used to this game (not fun) but it fills in my day! Click on the application in Apple Configurator and import redemption codes (again). After a period of time (long) the message "Finished importing Redemption codes" appears but does not disappear - ie complete. Apple Configurator is now frozen.
I Force Quit Apple Configurator, all changes (work) is lost and possible the configurator database is now corrupt. I also now have the bonus of trying to fix another problem to fix.
Whilst the advice above is good & i am not critical of those who replied and would like to thank them. I am nearing the end of the line now with Apple Configurator -
Apple RAID Card Firmware Update crashes
Early 2008 Mac Pro 2.8GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
I'm trying to install Apple's RAID Card Firmware update on my 2008 Mac Pro (which yes, has a RAID card) and every time the update utility launches it immediately crashes because it couldn't load the CoreRAID framework:
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreRAID.framework/Versions/A/CoreRAID
Referenced from: /Applications/Utilities/Apple RAID Card Firmware Update.app/Contents/MacOS/Apple RAID Card Firmware Update
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreRAID.framework/Versions/A/CoreRAID: mach-o, but wrong architecture
I've tried reinstalling the CoreRAID framework directly from the Mavericks install image with no luck. The same thing was happening with 10.8 and I was hoping 10.9 would fix it.
I did a lot of Googling and someone in a somewhat related issue suggested running "lipo -info" on the library. If that's helpful to anyone here's the output:
lipo -info CoreRAID
Non-fat file: CoreRAID is architecture: x86_64
but from that it looks like it should have no problem being run on my Intel Mac Pro.
Any help would be appreciated, it's annoying that Software Update keeps informing me that I have a pending update, and every time I log into my server I get a crash alert from theWell, I went ahead and opened a support ticket on this.
Tech on the phone was not immediately able to come up with a solution, and has escalated it to engineering.
I am willing to bet that the RAID Card firmware update doesn't "know" about MP11.005D.B00 -- and will only install with MP11.005C.B08.
The question is this: What is the difference between MP11.005D.B00 and MP11.005C.B08 -- and does this impact the Hardware RAID in any way? -
Apple Configurator - Updating to iOS 6.1.2 removed saved user data
We are currently managing several classroom sets of iPads using Apple Configurator. When updating to iOS 6.1.2 on the Supervise tab, about two-thirds of one classroom (about 20 iPads) and another 4 out of 6 in a special education classroom lost all previously saved data (application data, documents, pictures, etc.) during the update. We have another classroom that updated approximately 30 iPads following the same exact steps using the same configurator computer and none were erased so we're having a hard time figuring out the issue.
When I was watching the configurator run through the status updates during the iOS update (e.g. downloading iOS, decompressing iOS, installing iOS) there was another step on the iPads that lost data which was "supervising device." All of the iPads were already supervised so I don't know why this step occurred or what caused it to happen. With the grouping of 6 iPads, the 4 that were erased immediately started decompressing and installing iOS while the 2 that saved user data went to the downloading iOS stage first. I wasn't monitoring the grouping of 30 as closely, but I did notice the "supervising device" stage on the iPads that lost all user data.I think for the teachers you are going to have to tell them to copy their data off the device.
Suggest dropbox or other cloud storage. Could set up a WebDave server.
A simple and popular way to copy files.
http://wiki.dropbox.com
Could set up sync-ing so they would come back in he fall. I'd be cautios and do everythig simple.
For syncing pc or mac folders to iPad applications.
"Using SugarSync, you simply designate folders that you want to “sync” to the cloud and it keeps everything in sync anytime you make changes. This is the way cloud storage should be done and especially if you are using your iPad for buisness or for school."
The only potential downside is that so many apps for the iPhone/iPad come with Dropbox sync built in which makes it extremely convenient.

Doug says:
"This can be done with Dropbox as well using one of the many Dropbox addons…"

Do we get to have our "Apple Configurator" updated for new features on iOS6?
I was wondering, if we get to have "Apple Configurator" would be updated for new features added on iOS6 devices.

Apple Configurator crashes when adding apps
I have a situtation where Apple Configurator 1.1.1 crashes every time that I attempt to add apps. The crash occurs right after entering the Apple ID and password. This is occuring on a 2011 MacBook Pro. I have tried
1. Different user accounts
2. Different Apple IDs
3. OSX Lion
4. OSX Lion Server
5. OSX Mountain Lion
6. Revert back to version 1.1.0
I get the same result every time. The program does work fine on both an iMac running Lion Server and a Mac Mini running Mountain Lion. I don't know what else to try to make this work. We really need to have it running on the laptop because it needs to accompany an iPad cart. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.christopher274 wrote:
Is there anything interesting the Console.app at the time of the crash? Have you sent the crash log to Apple?
There was nothing that indicated a problem to me. I ended up calling AppleCare Enterprise (it's free for the Apple Configurator program), and after going through quite a large number of different steps, it was suggested that I do a clean stall and restore. I did that and the problem was gone. This computer was set up by out IT group by imaging, and there must be something in the configurayion that they used that was wrong for this computer. -
I updated Apple Configurator to 1.3 and my database isn't migrating.
I updated Apple configurator to 1.3 from 1.2.1 and the database isnt migrating, it crashes during the process. When i use time machine to go back to before the update it starts trying to migrate again it doesnt revert it to 1.2.1 . When i try and revert back a few months the database does migrate but that was when we had personal profiles assigned to the devices but that was causing problems because a single corrupte user file can cause configurator to crash regularly and barely run. When i try and operate within the migrated 1.3 it beachballs/freezes as soon as you click anywhere within the app. Ideally i would want a away where i could revert to 1.2.1.

There have been a lot of crashing issues with 1.3. There are a few discussions going on here in the communities that may help you:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/22503007?ac_cid=tw123456#22503007
https://discussions.apple.com/message/22456350#22456350
Also, it looks like there are issues with Lion and AC v1.3: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4613
I plan to stick with v1.2.1 until some of these issues get cleared up.
Good luck and hope this helps!!

Photos crashing constantly with update 10.10.3 (14D131)
photos crashing constantly with update 10.10.3 (14D131), can you help?
Thank youPhotoshop Elements is not an Apple product, please visit an Adobe Elements forum. It is possible your version of Elements needs to be updated, check what version is installed. If you do not know, locate the app in your Apps folder, select it and type Command + I and look for the version number. Then you can research to see if that is up-to-date.
Try this first, if it's up-to-date and still will not store please post back and we can provide some other things to check. -
iPad 1 Safari Crashes Constantly and getting worse day by day. Has Apple come up with a solution? Now I am hearing its also happening on the newer models. My company is about to buy a lot of tablets and I will not recommend Apple anything until they fix the problem. Granted 30 or 40 iPads is not a huge impact but i promise once the outside world hears about this BS things will change. There are plenty of other tablets out there that do not have this problem. At the very least we should have the option of rolling back to a stable IOS...
I have already tried all the things mentioned above as well as other things such as other browsers etc. Its is obviously a problem with the hardware. I also borrowed a brand new 4th gen iPad and it does the same thing. Even after upgrading it to 6.01. An occasional crash is one thing and can easily be waved off but this is clearly systemic and the problem appears to be related to graphical images and videos. Both iPads are the 64gb versions, the only difference other than model is the iPad 1 has ATT cellular. The new version is clean i.e no other APPs loaded other than what came with it. I have 7 more coming but im seriously considering sending them back in favor of an Android tablet or the MS Surface.

I manage 60 ipads for a school using Apple Configurator. Need to update my devices to iOS7 and Apple Configurator to 1.4.3...Is it best to use Mountain Lion or Mavericks, as I also need to update from Lion 10.7 for the new Apple Configurator and iOS7 to work properly.
I always run a Time Machine backup before updating anything and recommend you run a backup as well. Paid apps should migrate over without any problem. If you have problems with VPP codes not transfering over properly, you can talk to your Apple SE or contact VPP for Education support and they can help you. While I haven't experienced any problems with updating, its never a guarantee that others will have the same experience.
Good luck!

Apple Configurator Could not refresh the ios update catalog
I tried to open up apple configurator today and it's giving me an arror saying "Could not refresh the iOS update catalog. The store's response could not be parsed." I have no idea how to even start troubleshooting this. any tips?
This is an annoying problem. I have phones and pads that I have to release for the Corporate world. I thought macs/apple were supposed to be perfect .
Any Fixes or responses to this as a potential iTunes problem.
Is this an iTunes to server conn problem or would this be a problem with the software to iTunes programming?
