Apple Configurator 1.6 won't connect to iPad

Hi,
I am having trouble getting a connection over USB with Apple Configurator. When I connect the iPad, AC1.6 does recognise it and nothing happens -->AllDevices(0) is shown.
Tried new cable, iOS7 and iOS8 device. No luck.
Anyone having this issue and a solution?

Tell me about it. In the AppStore, Apple actually list this is a bug fix/feature "Apple Configurator 1.6 contains improvements and bug fixes including: 1) Devices are erased before restoring a backup."
I can see why some people may want this, but it throws a complete spanner in the works for us and I can't believe there's not an option for this in preferences. We have 10 iPads that were locked down and restored after each use. Turn around time of about five minutes or less. Now Configurator forces us to reinstall everything each time, we're looking at over an hour. It's crazy. It would actually be quicker to go through the iPads myself and reset everything. Ugh.
However, having deleted the iBooks app from Configurator, at least the devices are finishing without the error, so there's that, I guess.

Out of curiosity, do you have 2 step verification enabled? It was recently extended to include iMessage & FaceTime & I'm wondering if it might be causing some of the issues that some users are experiencing.

What do you mean " back up my photos or Apps"?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipad.
You can transfer itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

I am trying to configure some new unsupervised iPod touch 4th generation using Apple Configurator but it won't give me the option to install the app that appears on the Apps tab.

I have tested the to see whether it works in supervised mode and it does but in Prepare mode it won't let me tick the box.
Any ideas anyone?

a friend told me that he wants my os x cd for my macbook pro to upgrade his imac.
The discs that come with your Mac are "machine specfic" and cannot be used on another Mac.

Apple configurator won't connect to ipads

hello, i am trying to set up all my companys' ipads in supervised mode. i tested on a mac book pro (recent model, less then 6 months old) running 10.82 and the devices took fine. i have since reformatted them back to clean OS with iOS 6 and have purchased a new mac mini running 10.82. now, when i plug any ipad (a 2 or a 3) directly into the mini (no usb hub), using the original apple cable i get an "unrecognized device" error. what gives? it worked fine on the MBP, but not on a brand new mini? i have even tried brand new ipads out of the box and then brand new ipads with just the iOS 6 update. nothing is working. also, i am using the latest version of Apple configurator (downloaded it fresh today). thanks in advance for any help.

If you have issues streaming music from your computer through your Apple TV from iTunes, you will want to make sure the Home Sharing is set up correctly. Use the steps in this article -

Apple Configurator 1.6 won't load iBooks

Had tons of trouble last year, installing iOS7 on 25 supervised iPads. The problems continue with the iOS8 update. I updated AC to version 1.6 through the app store and went to plug in to my iPad cart today. I should note that all my iPads are iPad 2. I was under the impression that they would be left out of the update. Regardless, AC installs and updates everything except for iBooks. I get an error when trying to push the app to my iPads. Anyone else?

Apple Configurator prepared iPhone won't sync in iTunes

Hi everybody,
may anybody help me understanding what I did wrong? My goal ist to prepare several new out-of the-box iPhones with basic stuff such as profiles with WLAN settings, Mail settings and so on, even load some basic free Apps (Facebook WhatsApp, Find My iPhone etc.) onto the phones, and after that give the user the possibility to use his or her own iTunes to sync songs and Apple-ID-related Apps with his or her new iPhone.
I prepared the iPhones with Apple Configurator without turning "Supervision" on - just prepared them to activate, install free Apps and configure the "first boot wizard" for not asking for backup etc. Then I installed profiles with basic settings for calendar, mail, contacts, alan, a few certificates and so on. All went fine until this point:
When the user plugs the iPhone to her Mac, iTunes do not ask to sync the phone but treats it like a NEW iPhone and asks if it should configure the iPhone as a new one or if a backup of an older iPhone should be installed.
What have I missed?

Zagg keyboard won't connect to iPad ever since upgrade to iOS 7.1.2

Ever since I updated my iPad 3 to iOS 7.1.2, my Zagg keyboard won't connect to my iPad. I get the code but whenever i type it in I get no reaction. And after a few seconds I get "make sure your device is on and in range." Can someone please tell me a fix for this I've reset network settings, deleted the keyboard from the known list of devices and full charged my keyboard. Nothing's helping.

I have a Zagg KB and it works well.
First reset the iPad by holding the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears (15-20 seconds).
Be sure (stating the obvious) Bluetooth is turned on. Turn the Zagg KB on...it should start to hunt for the wireless network. Press the connect button on the Zagg KB - the red light should begin to blink. On the iPad (settings>Bluetooth) click on the Zagg.

I'm really only using my Apple TV to watch Netflix and purchas the occasional movie. Couldn't I save the $99 and just connect my iPad to my TV and do the same? Thanks!

Yes, assuming you TV has the inputs to handle it. You would need and HDMI cable and an HDMI adapter. However, as the owner of an AppleTV, I can tell you it is much more convenient to use it.

My itunes won't connect to ipad it receives an invalid response from device

I am trying to download an app that I had to download to my windows 7 operating system computer. I downloaded itunes as well but when I connect my ipad to the computer itunes says it can't connect to my ipad because of an invalid response from device. Can anyone help?

ITunes won't connect to iPad after clicking "Don't Remind Me" to 4.3.1

I told iTunes not to remind me about the 4.3.1 upgrade and now my iPad won't connect to iTunes at all. Every time I plug it into my Macbook, iTunes just hangs.
I've hard re-booted my iPad, iTunes and my Macbook but none of these things seem to have helped.
Any suggestions most appreciated!

The iPad is operating VERY slowly now. So it obviously has problems.
However I suspect my iTunes is also having issues, as I've tried restoring THREE of my old iphones and none of them work. iTunes fails every time.

HT4557 I am not enjoying the Apple TV as we can not connect our ipad or computer - even using the instructions above.......

On the remote app on my iPad and iPhone it says connecting to apple tv and it never connects. This just started happening yesterday. How do I fix it. I restarted everything.
