Apple Configurator export profiles

Hello
I have install the new Apple Configurator 1.5 and i have a profile that i want export, but i can't find how can export a profiles. I think in the older version i can do that?
Is this not possible?
Or where can find a older version of the Apple Configurator?
regards
Roger

in Configurato, switch to the SUPERVISE tab, then click SETTINGS.
Select a profile.
Below the profile list you should see the standard IOS "Export" icon - looks like a square with an arrow pointing outwards. Click it.
That should do the trick!

  • HT201334 Apple configurator vs Profile Manager

I downloaded apple configurator and have it working. Then I realized profile manager in OSX Server does the same thing. What is the difference, can I leave it as is? Any benefit of just using profile manager?

    Apple configurator has its uses.
Apple configurator can be used as a "manual" standalone solution to manage you iDevices and AppleTVs.
Apple configurator can be used in blended approach with Profile Manager.
With Profile Manager you can manage iDevices , Macs , and I believe AppleTv over the AIR.
    - Apple Configure Stand Alone.
When using Apple Configurator by itself you can , lock down an iPad in a way you see fit.
    1. You can make an iDevice in "Supervise Mode" increasing restricting of your iDevice , Profile Manager cannot do this at the moment , this feature will be available in Mavericks.
    2. Any future configuration changes to your iDevices , must be physically plugged in everytime for those changes.
    3. You can distribute free and paid apps.
    4. You can update your IOS updates all at once. When IOS 7 comes out this fall you probably dont want to touch every iDevice and update 1 at a time. You can use Apple Configurator to download the latest IOS , and any IDevice that you plugin will receive the update, this means downloading th IOS update one time on the mac, and pushing it out to whoever needs it. Profile Manager can't do this.
    5. You can name several iDevices sequently. If you have a cart of 30 it will be easy to rename your iDevices. Profile Manager can't do this.
    6. Apple configurator allows you to "backup and restore" its not a true complete image but its close. Profile Manager does not do backups or restores.
    7. Apple Configurator can be used to erase an iDevice.
    8. I'm probably missing some more features.
    - Profile Manager Stand Alone
    1. You can manage Macs not just iDevices.
    2. You must enroll the device before you can manage it, this can be done by pushing out an email , via a website etc.
    3. Everything happens over the Air.
    4. When enrolling , users can use their Open Directory or Active Directory ( if your Apple server is bound to AD server ). You can also create a generic account for enrolling purposes.
    5. You can wipe devices over the air.
    6. You can make pass code resets for iDevices.
    7. You can manage users in groups , even nested groups. I manage staff and student iDevices. Our wireless system is seperated for staff and students each wireless has its own SSID. I created 2 upper level Profile Manager Groups , one called WiFi Student and one called WiFi Staff, all my student iDevice groups are nested under WiFi Student group and all my staff idevice groups are nested. This makes managing my wifi a breeze. I also include my mifi wireless info , in case i need a backup emergency wireless.
    8. Im sure theres other features.
    - Apple Configurator And Profile Manager Blended
    1. Push out initial wifi settings. I setup a simple wireless router to connect my devices ( there are types when I setup over 50 ipads , and our network runs out of IPs)
    2. You can use Apple Configurator to push out Profile Managers "enrollment profile" to many iDevices. You dont want to enroll a full iDevice cart one at a time via a web browser.
    Maverick and IOS 7
In the fall everything will change , it is amazing what we will be able to do. Over the Air Supervise Mode , Install Apps over the air with no user interaction, App codes become licenses , which are revokeable and reusable. Out of the box enrollment ... There may be no need for Apple Configurator come this fall. So many things are changing I recommend watching the new WWDC2013 Videos, specially the one on device management.
    Back to original topic.
I value both products , they have their specilties and when you blended , you can get things done efficiently.

  • Preparing an iOS device with Apple Configurator and Profiles

    Hi,
I am using Apple configurator 1.5 to prepare iPods with an updated iOS, backup and profile. Up until recently, I was able to install the the updates and the backup but the profile is not being send to the device. I have to stop the "prepare" setup and manually add the profile to each device.

I recommend posting in the iPhone or iPad for the Enterprise forums

  • Apple Configurator- Multiple Profiles on Multiple Devices

I'm using Apple Configurator 1.4.3. I was wondering if there is any way to install multiple profiles on to multiple devices at once.
Right now it only gives you the options of installing multiple profiles on one device OR one profile on multiple devices.

    Hey Rookeydooks,
Sounds like you have Apple Configurator set to automatically refresh when you connect iPads. To turn this off (in Apple Configurator 1.2.1), in the menu bar go to Apple Configurator -> Preferences. On the General tab, uncheck "Automatically refresh". This way, the iPad won't automatically revert back to the saved supervised backup.
Once you make your changes, you should then create a new Supervised Backup. After that, you can go back to Apple Configurator -> Preferences, and check "Automatically refresh".
    Hope this answers your question!

  • IPad/Apple Configurator/changing profiles on existing backups

Is there a way to back up an iPad that has an exisiting Apple Configurator profile applied, and then apply a different profile and restore the data without applying the original profile?  Everything I have tried seems to apply the original profile when restoring the backup.  If this is not possible, how can I apply a new profile to an iPad without the user losing all of his data??

Thanks Chris.  I have an Apple Configurator profile applied to a users iPad that blocks the App Store.  I need to place a new profile on the iPad that allows access to the App Store.  However, when I check in the device it creates a backup and the original profile is saved in the backup.  When I try to apply the new profile it is deployed to the device successfully but when I restore the backup for the user the original profile overrights the new profile.  Both profiles are present after the backup is restored.  I need to be able to place a new profile on a device AND restore data from a backup without that backup applying the original profile.

  • Provisioning Profiles and Apple Configurator

I try to install a provisioning profile (a .mobileprovision file) using Apple Configurator and I find no way of importing it into Configurator.
Apples PDF "Deploying iPhone and iPad - Apple Configurator" says I can use provisionong profiles with Configurator.
    What am I doing wrong?

With this I can import configuration profiles (*.mobileconfig), but not the provisioning profile (*.mobileprovision).
The profile I am using is probably fine, as it is working in iTunes. It is used to enable enterprise Apps.

  • I have an Apple Configurator install that wont recognize an iPad when I attach it via USB.  I cant prepare it or refresh it.  It was supervised.  I get an error message that says "policy does not have correct profile data".  Please help!!!

I have an Apple Configurator install that wont recognize an iPad when I attach it via USB.  I cant prepare it or refresh it.  It was supervised.  I get an error message that says "policy does not have correct profile data".   At some point there was a mismatch between the profile on the iPad and the MAC server.  The profile on the MAC server has been deleted and the iPad has been erased and reset to default.  I need to be able to get Configurator to recognize this device to prepare it for deployment and issue Apps to it.   Please help!!

Run the application 'Terminal.app' which you will find in '/Applications/Utilities' on your Macintosh.
Type this into it: defaults delete com.apple.configurator PreprationSavedPolicyDefaultsKey
    Hit the return key.
If you get no error message, it worked, and you can quit the app.

  • HT202577 Is the apple configurator available for Windows in order to push profiles to apple TVs?

We currently have a windows environment at work and use 802.1x authentication and have some 1st generation apple TVs. We would like to get them on our wireless but are having issues. I would like to push profiles to these apple TVs to see if I can get them on but I am not going to buy a Mac to do it.
Is the apple configurator available for Windows or even ubuntu?

    Hello,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Apple Configurator requires both Mac OS X, and the most up to date version of iTunes, and can only be installed from the Mac App Store.

  • Apple Configurator: The configuration for your iPad could not be downloaded from organisation . Invalid Profile.

    Good afternoon,
I am really struggling with a deployment of 10 iPad Minis.
The iPads are brand new and I have downloaded and installed Apple Configurator onto our Apple Air laptop.
I have configured Apple Configurator in the following way:
    Under Prepared:
    Settings
Name is ticked with 'Number sequentially starting at 1'.
Supervision is ticked to on, Allow devices to connect to other Macs is also ticked.
Update iOS is set to "When update is available". Erase before installing is ticked.
Restore is set to "Don't restore backup".
No profiles are listed in the profiles section.
    Apps
I have copied in some appropriate apps.
    Setup
Skip: Restore, Passcode, Siri, Touch ID, Apple Pay, App Analytics all ticked.
I have not configured Device Enrollment.
In "Configure Settings..." Device Enrollment is not configured.
After preparing my iPads, they all connect and prepare correctly. When I select any iPad and unlock it, the following happens:
    Hello, slide to setup
    Select language, UK selected
Select Your Country or Region, UK selected
Choose a Wi-Fi Network, correct network selected and authenticated
    Location Services: Enabled
Configuration, "<organisation> can automatically configure your iPad". Apply Configuration or Skip Configuration. Apply selected.
Configuration, "The configuration for your iPad could not be downloaded from <organisation>. Invalid Profile.
Apple Configurator is showing no errors, have tried Supervise>Reset, makes no difference.
Have skipped configuration and erased iPad before trying again, same problem.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

  • HELP! Apple Configurator - 'Unable to sign profile'

Anyone out there able to help, please??
Had Apple Configurator up and running fine. Stupidly decided to do a bit of tweeking and now it won't let me do anything. I unsupervised all my iPads so that I could wipe them for a new group.
I'm now trying to supervise them again and install exactly the same profile and restore a backup. This has worked fine before.
I am now getting a message saying 'Unable to sign profile' and it will not do anything.
Any help, suggestions or anything would be really appreciated. I'm supposed to be using the iPads with a very excited group of 7 and 8 year olds in about three hours. I really don't want to let them down:(

I was just having this issue too.  I tried plugging just one in and then messing with its settings and I think the problem was that the wifi was turned off.

  • Transferring an Apple Configurator Profile

Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to transfer a Apple Configurator Profile from one iPad to another. For example, I have a wifi configuration file on one ipad, and need to get it to the other. Is there any way to transfer it without connecting it to the original apple configurator computer where the profile was made/put on the original device? Is it possible to use iTunes, iFunBox or my computers file explorer?
I am sorry if this is the wrong category. Moderator please put it in the right one if it is not. This is the most relevant category I could find.
    Thank You
    ~Zach

Bump, I really need an answer.

  • Apple configurator and ios 6.1 cannot install config profile

I'm using the Apple Configurator v1.2.1 to install my enterprise app into iPad 2's. First of all, I am unable to upgrade from iOS 6.0.1 to 6.1.2. It either fails or gets stuck and I have to "stop". My work around is to upgrade via the device (which is actually pretty fast). My big problem is that I am also installing provisioning and configuration profiles, which include files for the app. Every things seems to go ok, the app and all the data installs properly, so does the profisioning profile, until the end where the configurator tells me to "tap device to install profile" but the profile prompt never appears on the iPad. The iPad goes into setup as if it's a new iPad and the config profile nevers gets installed. I do get a warning saying it can't install the profile. I'm forced to update the configuration manually. I'm updating about a dozen each time, so it's starting to get tedious as well as error-prone. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Use whatever method you wish to update iOS
    Go though,the setup as needed
Then try apple Configurator to install your profiles
From memory updating iOS with apple Configurator
Causes the setup to run like a new device the same if you used iTunes to update
As the complete OS is installed
However it will only download iOS once, providing all your devices are the same
Updating iOS on the device still has a setup but it's only for iCloud
And you'd have to download the (smaller) update each time
I would think it is the iOS update and setup that's causing your profiles etc
to fail there maybe to much going on at the same time

  • How to remove Apple Configurator Profile - iPad

On my iPad a supervision profile has been installed using Apple Configurator. Is there a way to remove this profile without restoring.
When I tried syncing my iPad to my computer a message came up, notifying my that my 'iPad is supervised with another computer and cannot be used with this computer.'
I belive this has occurred because of this supervison profile and I can't seem to remove this profile.
I don't have access to both the Apple Configurator application that was used to create it and the computer that it is supervised with.
I have tried recovery mode and a few other basic ways that could remove this.
I need a way to remove this profile without removing all my data or accessing the Apple Configurator itself.
    Max.

Unfortunately, if you don't have access to the computer that the iPad was supervised with you won't be able to unsupervise it without resetting the device (and thus losing all of the apps and data).
The idea behind Supervising is that control lies with the person managing the devices (teacher, I.T. staff, etc), not the end user. In Supervision mode, the person managing the devices is "king" and has control of installing apps, configuration profiles, etc. When an iPad is initially Supervised, it is wiped clean of previous data, apps, and settings. This prevents a personal device from being supervised by another person without their knowledge. Once Supervised, it is no longer a "personal" device…it is managed. The same sort of thing happens when you unsupervise a supervised device…it deletes everything so that the manager is no longer "king" and the user regains all control by starting with a clean iPad without data, apps, or controlled settings.
You may want to try and manually back up as much as you can to services like Dropbox before resetting the device.
I know this is not the answer you want to hear, but I hope it helps understand why it is what it is. Good luck.

  • Apple Configurator: Enable to install profile code=14

So I am trying to manage a iPhone 3Gs using OSX Server  and Apple Configurator.
    For OSX server:
    I am running:
    - Open Directory
    - DNS with the zone local and the mini.local (which is my OSX server machine)
    - Websites
    - Profile Manager
I created a self signed certificate for the OSX Server profile manager, checked the 'Sign Configuration files' where I use this self signed certificate.
In Profile manager (https://mini.local/profilemanager/) I created a Enrollment Profile which I downloaded and I downloaded the trust certificate.
In Apple configurator I created a WiFi profile which only contains information about my WiFi connection.
Using Apple Configurator I configure the iPhone 3Gs (Supervision is on) and I upload the three profiles:
    - Wifi
    - Trust
    - Enrollment
Everything works, accept for the enrollment profile.
I tried several stuff, including setting the ipaddress for the DNS of the mini into the iphone.
Unfortunately I keep getting this error in my logs:

Self fixed.  Found an unauthorized app had modified the HOST file to prevent check in with Apple.

  • Apple Configurator error app's identifier is missing when creating a deployment profile.

    Hello,
I have a Bretford Powersync cart and I have a Macbook Pro with Apple Configurator on it.
I don't have any iPads yet connected they will come in next week, there will 30 of them.
I'm creating a profile and payload in Configurator on the Macbook right now and when I add Apps to be part of the package that gets sent to the iPads, it's giving me the error "App's Identifier is Missing".  I'm just highlighting a cell structure app that is free that I downloaded and trying to add it.
I heard you have to add the .ipa file, but I can't find an .ipa file anywhere.  When I search for .ipa it just shows me the same Cell Structure App icon and I end up getting the same error.
Just trying to get around this error message.
    Thanks,
    Matt

It won't let me edit my post, so I'm typing this reply to add...
I tried taking the version number out of the title. It looked like there were two spaces in the title "Grammar Games  by Tap to Learn". So I even made sure that matched. I still can't import my codes. Any other things to try would be really appreciated.
