Apple configurator 'Save operation could not be completed"

I keep getting this message.  Any changes that I try to make are always reverted whenever I close Apple configurator.  Don't know what to do.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I haven't seen this specific message, but maybe its due to the inability for Apple Configurator to write a file to a specific directory. Check the permissions on your home folder. Make sure the owner is you and permissions are set to 700. Next thing I would do is run a permissions repair with Disk Utility.
If those steps don't work, I'd do some research to see what directories Apple Configurator writes to outside of your home folder and make sure you have read/write access to them.
Hope this helps!
~Joe

it says save operation could not be completed when I make a new project... what happened?

This is happening to me as well. No solutions from anyone. When it happens, it does not matter which drive I try to save to ... it won't create a new event or project ANYWHERE. I usually have to reboot.

  • Save operation could not be completed in final cut

I am trying to create a new event in fcpx , and I 1tb left on my ex drive. But keep getting " save operation could not be completed... Any idea what to do to fix

You can't repair permissions on a disk drive that doesn't have an OS on it. I did do a "repair drive" on each and they came back reporting no problems. As I said, when this happens (and I got it again this morning), I am not able to save a project or event to ANY DRIVE, and I tried them all. Rebooting always fixes it.

  • Your Save operation could not be completed

    Hi,
I started Photoshop Express Online on my Windows 7 computer using Firefox. I uploaded some pictures. All was fine.
When I edit a picture however (which itself is working fine, too) I only get the error message shown in the title. This is happening when I try to save any picture, edited or non edited. A download of the original picture onto my desktop using Adobe Photoshop Express Organizer works fine.
    What to do?

    Hello Mark,
    thanks, it is working now.
    Best regards

  • Save for Web & Devices, The operation could not be completed

I keep getting this error when I Save for Web & Devices: The operation could not be completed.
I have saved for the web before for many more complex, larger images without a hitch.
I am using a psd format with an image that I designed. It is no more complex than others I have done. It is small, just a horizontal navbar about the size of the one on Apple's website.
I tried exporting it, flattening it, slicing it removing the slices.
I think it is a problem with the application itself.
I have tried repairing my permissions, restarting, and holding Cmd, Opt, Control, Shift during PS startup to reset the settings. Any insight would be appreciated.

…and yet you don't even tell us what version it is—let alone pertinent details of your machine, OS, etc..

  • "The operation could not be completed" when doing Save for web

    Hi
I have just installed Photoshop CS5.1 on my new iMac with Mac OS 10.7 (Lion). Everytime I try to do a 'Save for web' I get this error message "The operation could not be completed". After that Photoshop also hangs. I've tried many solutions offered in forums and the like, but nothing helps. I am getting quite desperate...Anybody?

    I found out the following:
    When I write in Terminal:
    sudo chmod -R u+w ~/Library/Preferences
    sudo chmod -R u+rw ~/Library/Application\ Support
The error message disappears, until I do a restart of the computer. Then the error is back.
My suspiscion is that the error came up after moving files from my old computer to my new one.
It happened even before I installed Lion...
So now I'm thinking of doing a complete new install on Lion, not an upgrade and then install Photoshop again. But I am not really looking forward to this :-(

  • I cannot "save" my newly reduced size video after using the "TRIM" feature...I get "The Operation could not be completed". Why?

I would start with my original AVI file, then hit duplicate to get a duplicate file to work on....I then would use the "TRIM" feature to shorten the video. Then when I hit "close", and it prompted me to name the newly reduced file, and saved it appropriately. So I did this procedure with two of my AVI format videos and it worked flawlessly.
But I have tried to do this same procedure with a half a dozen more AVI videos and it will not allow me to name the modified file after I have "trimmed it" and save it...when I enter the name for the modified file and hit "close", I get the message "The operation could not be completed".  Why isn't it allowing me to save the files??

  • Quicktime Operation could not be completed when trying to save

I have recently been watching webinars online and have been using Quicktime to record these so I can go back when I have more time to study them and learn from them.  I have run into an issue when I go to save my most recent file.  I get the error message "The operation could not be completed".  I have plenty of disk space on my computer along with an external hard drive.  I ran into this problem once before when I was saving directly to the external hard drive and I switched to saving on my desktop and then moving to the external.  This solution is not working any longer.  The recording is 6 hours long and I would really hate to lose it.  Any help on how I can get this file to save would be greatly appreciated.

So I had this as well.
I went to the file tab and went to export. From there I picked 720p and it worked. It may be different for you depending on the resolution of the video. hopefully it works for you too!

  • File Save for Web = Error: The operation could not be completed.

Installed photoshop CS6 trial Version 13.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate running in hyper-v virtual machine.  Created a small image and clicked File Save for Web.  This produced the error dialog "Error: The operation could not be completed."
I tried the following trouble shooting steps:
    1. deleted the preferences
    2. created a new user
    3. re-installed both the operating system and photoshop
    4. looked for permission issues
    5. monitored procmon.exe to look for unusual errors
I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but it simply does not work.

    ELEMENTS 12 AND ELEMENTS 13
Upgraded to 13 Thinking might resolve the issue.
Was working fine up until we had "Tech" come in the office and "up grade some stuff"
then all of a sudden i started getting this message, something happened but i don't have a clue what.

  • Save for Web - The operation could not be completed. Access is denied.

Hello everyone! I was hoping it wouldn't have to come to this, but unfortunately, I really need help with my Adobe Photoshop. I run on Windows 32x and my program is Photoshop CS6 (Portable and its 64 bit), which I've had for about a year. Yesterday, I made a GIF and I tried to save it but along came the message saying "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied."
I reset my preferences (more than once!), restarted my laptop and cleared up a bunch of memory on my hard drive. The mode is set to 8 Bits/Channel and RGB Color. I really have tried to look at every thread I could, but alas I could not find anything. I would really appreciate some help. Here is my system info!
Any advice would really go a long way to helping me, and I am desperate. Thanks.

Make sure that you have read write access to the foldler that you're trying to save your file to.  Save for web doesn't save in the same location as where the file resides. It remembers that last location used, and you may not have access to that.

Supply pertinent information for quicker answers
The more information you supply about your situation, the better equipped other community members will be to answer. Consider including the following in your question:
    Adobe product and version number
    Operating system and version number
The full text of any error message(s)
What you were doing when the problem occurred
    Screenshots of the problem
    Computer hardware, such as CPU; GPU; amount of RAM;
Windows reliability history Photoshop crash reports etc....
virtualbox on a linux host. does the virtual PC provide any useful information? There an error in your environment you need to find out what the error is.

  • PS CS5 Save for Web and Devices reports "The operation could not be completed"  ?

I teach in a lab of 27 computers, 110 students and part of the curriculum is teaching students to "Save for Web and Devices" this year for some strange reason none of my students can access "Save for Web and Devices"  they get the error message "The operation could not be completed-A write permissions error has occured."
It has stumped our district top network support guru.
We are running PS CS5 12.0.4
He tried this posted fix but it did not work
    http://involution.com/2010/06/13/adobe-photoshop-cs5-write-perimissions-error-on-snow-leop ard/
It worked once last Friday but today it failed, I'm getting very nervous about being able to prepare my students for the ACA exam without this function.
In a discussion forum they suggested "zipping and deleting" the save for web preferences, I tried that.  Shut down Photoshop reopened it and that did not work.
I am at a loss.  Seems like a bug.
    Any ideas.
We are using iMacs running  Mac OS X  10.5.8

The error message may not simply address the location to where the students will save a single file. The error likely applies to the temporary location where the various optimized versions might be automatically saved as you preview the image as JPG/PNG/GIF. I would wager that you would not see this error when you are logged into one of the students' computers as an admin.

  • "The operation could not be completed" using iMovie 10.0.6

I'm using the new iMovie 10.0.6 with OS X Yosemite 10.10.
This is the first time I access to iMovie after upgrade to Yosemite.
When I try to begin a new movie and after select a theme the following message is shown:
"The operation could not be completed.
No other information is available about the problem"
The technical information obtained from the console is:
"13/11/14 11:46:50,195 iMovie[702]: -[NSAlert alertWithError:] called with nil NSError. A generic error message will be displayed, but the user deserves better."
So, I can't use iMovie as I expected...
Is anybody have this problem ?
    Thanks

I had the exact same problem, working with apple support I had to uninstall iMovie and all the files connected with it and then download iMovie again.  The problem is you iMovie is not creating the library file it needs to save your work.
Apple support was great at walking me through which files had to be deleted.
    good luck

  • When I try to access GameCenter on my Mac it says "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server." How can I fix this?

When I try to access GameCenter on my Mac it says "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server." How can I fix this?

This usually caused by a customised hosts file.
These need to be the only entries in your /etc/hosts file:-
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1       localhost
    255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
    ::1             localhost
    fe80::1%lo0     localhost
Remove anything below these entries, then try and reconnect with GC. Once GC starts properly you can put the extra entries back in your hosts file, GC should start normally afterwards.
