Apple customer care?

Is Apple Customer Care worth the money? (My only concern in my early purchase of the iPad mini 2 is the performance and reliability of its new Retina display over time.)

How could anybody possibly know how the new iPad mini retina display will hold up over time?
I have the iPad 3 which is the first iPad with the retina display. It will be two years old in March. I bought it two weeks after launch. I have never had a single problem with the hardware or with anything that I didn't cause on my own.
I bought the Apple Care+ for my iPad. Like all insurance plans, I hope that I never have to use it. Then I can cry about wishing I hadn't spent the money on it. Until such time that the warranty runs out, I will be glad that I purchased it.
But that is just the way that I feel about it. Only you can decide if the plan is right for you.

    Below mentioned (in Blue Font) is the mail I sent to Apple through its website on 15th of December 2011. Till now I have not even recieved the acknoledgement of my complaint.
    iPhone 4S is currently the best and the most expensive phone commercially available in India (With the exception of iPhone 4S  32 & 64 GB Models), and backed with a company like Apple, I expected better services.

    Mr Dhanuka called the Apple Customer care to request a speedy delivery and the status of my order on the apple's website was Shipping on 7th December via 2 to 3 days guaranteed shipping.
    It is with great disappointment i am informing you that neither the phone was delivered within 2 to 3 days of shipping, nor did I get the product I ordered for my sister. In stead of a White iPhone, we received a Black one, which totally messed up the whole White theme of her birthday.
    I am a loyal apple customer since 2006 and own 2 iPhones (first generation), one Mac book Pro, Ipad 2 etc. But this was a first apple experience for my sister who owns a Samsung Smart phone, and now mocks my love for apple products.
    I dont know how much this mail will affect you guys, but this incident had affected my loyalty towards Apple.
    I hope u guys have a way to make things better.

  • Apple customer care illegal took more money off of my credit card??????????

    After hours and days on the phone to my service provider Orange UK (my iphone4 is three months old) they accepted there was a fault with the phone and put me directly through to Apple I was quite bewildered what was going on.
    Orange told me Apple will now send you a new phone!
    Now talking to Apple.
    They told me I would have to travel to my local shop 45 miles away or have the phone picked up for repair and would not supply a replacement phone. The phone would be away for possibly 10 days or more for repair when I explained this was was not good enough as I need a phone for work.
    They turned round and said that they could offer me a service, the phone would be picked up and replaced with a recon iPhone4 within the next three working days (no defined time or day could be given just in those 3 days) and a deposit of £480 payable immediately over the phone, this would be reimbursed several days later when they were happy that my phone was not smashed or water damage when they received it.
    I didn't have any choice, I have to go for this option.
    I did a card transaction over the phone and was told that it would be for £280 they actually took £499 as I checked with the bank a few hours later this is classed as illegal transaction fraud, theft or any illegal act.
    I'm writing this four hours after making this payment to Apple
    This is how Orange really deals with iPhones?
    Is this really how Apple customer care operates?
    Can anyone help me with this palaver?

    Hi Thanks I've spoken to the bigwigs! Good customer liaison the chap I spoke to in the end after getting patched back from the States.
    Apparently I was told the wrong cost as everyone sayed and because my credit card is actually a debit card the money is removed from my account and yes it will be reimbursed fully once they're satisfied with my return phone.
    Strangely enough UPS just turned up as I was writing this with the exchange phone.
    Apparently the Apple chap told me yesterday this will be the replacement phone I keep, my old one will be refurbished and put back into the system.
    Thank you for the great replies it was really reassuring and helped calm the situation.

  • How cooperative is Apple Customer Care?

    I received my week 37 Macy Gray iPod Touch in the mail from apple.com on the 20th and I've been looking at it trying to figure out exactly what makes it seem off. I thought for a while I was just seeing things out of anxiety from dropping $400 for a piece of non-quality controlled gadgetry as I'm not having severe negative black issues. Instead, I have disgustingly acute vieweing angle.
    It turns out that if I get the iPod positioned where I can see the screen the best and close one eye, I see the perfect beautiful black I expect from an Apple product. When I close the other I get a purple ugly mess. I personally don't think this thing is meant to be looked at with one eye only, so I want to return it to Apple for an exchange as I absolutely love the feature set and UI. Has anyone had any experience in exchanging online orders? What should I expect when I ring up Apple Customer Care this week?

    hi i called the customer care to repair my iphone 5c and the advisor told me there are no Apple store in Belgium you have to go to paris, i have to pay 300euros to travel to paris !!! i bought a battery on eBay and i replaced the mine but the problem was not the battery but the logic board.
    i called i second time Apple customer care and the advisor told me you can take your iphone to Easy-m (repair center agreed by Apple inc.). i left my iphone to this shop and now he will not repair it for me because i opened this one.
    the first advisor told me there are no apple store in brussel and you have to travel to paris ... it's not my fault if the advisor was not good trained ... i bought my iphone and he still on warranty to 27 December i will this iphone 5c repaired

    Apple will not touch any iPhone that has been opened by anybody other than certified technicians, especially when they install an unknown battery from an unknown source.  You have sacrificed any support and warranty from Apple:

  • Apple customer care is great overall my thoughts

    my imac had it's first real problem about 2 weeks ago.
    I took it my local apple dealer to have him look at and it turned out my hard drive was bad.
    the weird thing was it would install tiger but not leopard as it turns out though leopard found some problems with the drive and could not be installed.
    The cool thing is that he told me to go buy a bigger drive to put in it which I wanted to upgrade my HD anyway so I went out and bought me a 320GB HD with 16MB cache on it
    It cost me 75$ for him not only to install it but he went ahead and cleaned it out and also cleaned my Superdrive for me.
    Apple support is great and not to pricey either cheaper then what I thought.
    anyone else had any good experiences with apple support let me know.

    My experiences with Apple support and customer service have also been very positive.
    Unfortunately we are not really supposed to use these forums for this type of discussion. The forum hosts want to keep the discussion here more in the direction of solving technical issues.

    There is nothing in that other thread that clarifies what you did about Error 3014
    Here is the description of that error:
    Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
    Install the latest version of iTunes.
    Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
    Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
    Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
    If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • How to Approach to Senior People Against Apple Service Centre in Delhi & Apple Customer Care Bangalore ?

    I Had Iphone 5S and Display Issue is there.
    Device is under warranty and opened by service centre without issuing a Job Card.
    Apple Service Centre is out of Stock for Replacement and refer to other Service Centre.
    After reaffixing my Device the Glass is Loose and Because of That next day while visiting other service centre My Device got Black Spot.
    They Deny the replacement and Now it is almost 1 Month 7 Days.
    No one is going to understand the real cause and deny the replacement due to pressure damage.

    I tried Apple Care Centre and Speak to Many Senior Executive they closed my case and no written reply. By phone they mentioned the case is rejected due to Pressure Damage on the Display.
    I Also Contact the Service Centre Manager he is saying the same.
    Store Manager Goes through my problem he understand the case but denying to do that replacement.
    Actual fault is done by there staff. I visited the Service Centre due to some Pinkish Color reflecting on Screen on 15 July they open my Device without issuing the Job Card in two minutes when my turns come they said the device can be replaced due to fault in Display but they refer me to another Service Centre Because they are out of Stock for 1 Week to 10 Days due to some account part in there centre.
    They return my device but cannot reaffix my Glass properly I intimate them they said don't worry it will be replace tomorrow at other service centre. I approach next day and while waiting for my turn a black spot appears due to loose glass.
    Other Service Centre Deny due to Black Spot & Refer me back to the same service centre. They told me to submit my device and they mention the situation of 16 July and don't mention the situation of 15 July.
    I explained and send emails to ACC but no one explain the problem to Apple US they are considering the problem from 16 July onwards but the real fault is done by the employes of Service Centre and Closed my Case after just replying that it is due to pressure damage.
    The actual mail is very long which i send it and how should I approach to Senior people they said there is no option after talking to senior executive in ACC INDIA
    Please Help and Suggest.

    This is from Mumbai, India....Requirement of multiple HDMI port in TV is must, the same was not informed while selling the product to me....
    Struggling for last 10 days to get convertor or splitter for using both cable tv and apple tv same time...now whenever I wanted to use Apple tv I have to manually switch the cable as my Tv has only one HDMI PORT.  This will really defeat the concept of Apple Tv product.
    When enquired with the seller, it is informed to me that, this is the first time they are getting such issues...
    Specifically when the products are marketed here, I expected apple would have considered or visualised the user issues in advance..
    Accessories like converter, splitter, switcher etc if being launched along with Apple Tv product....it would have helped the customer like me...
    Ireespective of my issue...I love apple product...i use iphone 5 and Ipad also...

    if your tv had 7 hdmi ports and you were using all 7 then you would have the same issue
    hdmi splitters often have issues following the hdcp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-bandwidth_Digital_Content_Protection
    which is why so many don't work
