Apple denies replacement due to apparant water damage, wetness indicator is white, iphone 5 has been searching for a network for 5 days and its never got wet
So my iphone is about 5 months old, over the last week it has been searching for a network signal. Yesterday i blew inside the sim tray to as i thought there was something stuckin there (stupid i know) but today apple denied replacement due to water damage. theres no water damage and the wet indicator is white. any advice on what i can do?? as i know it hasnt been submerged in water or exposed to water the phone was broken before i blew in it...the phne works fine its just not picking up a network
Take it back to the Apple store and ask for an explanation as to why they believe there is water damage. They should be able to show a water sensor that has been affected.
If still unhappy with the explanation, ask for a manager.
IF that does not get a satisfactory resolution, contact Apple customer care.

Since you dropped and damaged your phone, you've voided your warranty. As such, you can bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange, which will cost 199.00 USD. Or, since it's now out of warranty anyway, you can Google an iPhone repair shop in your area and see if it will cost less than that for repair.

Quit Mail if it's running. From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Mail, Contacts & Calendars
Select your iCloud account in the list on the left and click the "-" button below to delete it from the list. Then click the "+" button and add the account. -

Take it to an authorized service center or Apple Store in the country where the phone originated. Apple does not sell iPhones in Pakistan, nor will they ship them to Pakistan.

Can I replace the speaker after water damage?
A couple days ago I spilled tea on my keyboard. I kept the computer in a bag of rice for 2 days and everything is working fine .. except for the sound. With or without speakers, when I press the sound button there is a small circle with a dash in it at the bottom of the window that pops up.

You'd need to determine the extent of the damage inside the machine caused by the liquid. If you bring the machine into an Apple Retail Store then it'll be a flat fee service and it won't be cheap. Some service centers will offer to try and fix the damaged speaker but if the logic board around the corner is the problem this will drive the price up significantly.
Without knowing exactly what's wrong inside it's impossible to give a definitive price. It could be $200+, it could be $900+. Because there's such an unknown the range is so broad. -

You need to do more research before you make purchases like this. You've wasted your money. The ONLY officially unlocked iPhone model sold in the US is the GSM model, and that model is only sold by Apple. That's the model iPhone you should have purchased.

The unlocking of the GSM portion is just for International travel in order to use local sims. You still have to pay Sprint for the use of their international GSM partner’s network on a “pay as you go basis”. -

I clicked on "My device" then "switch my device" and followed just a few simple steps, with the final being switchin the SIM card, like you suggested. I think Verizon has to know what I was doing. HELP!!!!It is likely that the device has unrepairable harm done to it having it washed in the washing machine. However, one thing that could be tried would be to have the device placed in a glad bag full of un-cooked rice and leave it there for 72 hours to see if this will absorb residual moisture showing up on the display glass. It could be assumed that if there is that much moisture showing it's unlikely attempting to draw out moisture will be sucessful.

And then put in rice for 3 days and plugged it into my computer but it keeps flashing the Apple logo and a no charge sign. It also is not connecting to my computer and it does not say "Amelia's iPhone" in iTunes

Yes, that kind of tallies with my experience ... after 3 days of useless iPhone 3G (BTW, killing 3G on the phone and relying on acquiring AT&T 2G didn't help, it still locked onto T-Mobile with the result that it was draining battery and rebooting frequently!), I ended up visiting the local Apple Store.
Although the visit was not to resolve the iPhone problem, whilst there I happened to cycle the phone and due to the store having a local AT&T cell, the strength of the local signal meant that I finally re-acquired a AT&T 3G signal ... once locked on again the phone was fine for the next day.
Nett outcome of this is that I would prefer to lay most of the blame for this debacle on the poor state of 3G support both by AT&T (and US carriers in general), maybe exacerbated in my case by two related events (the local DNC in Denver, which saturated local AT&T cells including 3G and a proliferation of v2.0.0 and v2.0.1 firmwares on iPhones in town, which dragged cell coverage into the weeds).
It would be nice for future sanity if AT&T and T-Mobile could at least resolve the ability to acquire/release the iPhone gracefully, otherwise I'll be very sceptical of travelling back to the US with only my iPhone, as a self-employeed consultant I can't afford to be out of touch for three days again! -

If you forgot your passcode, restore the phone on the last computer it was synced with. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode and restore as a new device. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.
