Apple didn't even try to fix my ipod

Our iPod displayed the unhappy ipod symbol and didn't appear to charge anymore. The local genius bar told my husband that our iPod needed a new battery and to mail it in. We mailed it in.
A week later we received two conflicting messages from Apple: 1) an email saying that they couldn't find a problem with our ipod, it works fine, and that they had mailed it back, and 2) a form letter with a check box indicating that we had spilled something in the ipod, and it couldn't be fixed.
Both are clearly wrong. We never spilled anything in the ipod and it obviously doesn't work. Did they even open the package?

Really, no one here could possibly answer that question. However, I do know that most similar bits of consumer electronics have a Liquid Damage Indicator in them. It's often a piece of specially treated paper that changes color when exposed to moisture (starts out white, becomes pink, then red). Given that they opened your package and your iPod, that's how they would have determined liquid/moisture exposure.

Sounds like your battery is failing. If you have AppleCare, make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, you can still take to Apple Store for free quick battery diagnostic testing.

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.

For the last 2 1/2 weeks Droid Incredible 2 has been doing the same thing....uninstalled countless apps, then even a factory resest. Plugged it in last night at 40% power, it was charging. Woke up this morning and once again completed dead. Apparently, this is happening to a great number of Incredible 2 owners. Hope Verizon makes it right.

Strangely enough even though I had gotten the " Install failed....Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer....The install could not copy the necessary support files" I had left it on the screen and left the room for awhile. I walked back into my computer room a few minutes ago and the window on the screen stated that the SL OS 10.6.4 had successfully installed. I am now very carefully checking things out to make sure the fonts are where they should be. With the exception of some updating it appears all may be well.
PS. Below is a note I was writing to Kurt (also assisting me) to try and detail what had happened. Added it in case it could be of any value to you

Thank you for response. following is series of events to my best recollection.
I would typically not have been this stupid/ignorant but was doing this in a hurry with someone asking me questions...wasn't paying attn. to what I was doing
• downloaded new fonts
• opened downloaded fonts, clicked font icons to open and install them.
• typed "fonts" in spotlight (with the intention of moving new fonts into font folder)The Spotlight results window revealed 5 or 6 font folders. I ignorantly started to try a clean up by installing all fonts into a single folder (not thinking about system fonts)
Sometimes when you are moving a folder the window you moved it from will jump around..well this occurred and I mistakenly released the folder on the desk top. This caused a copy to be made. After some investigation I realized it was a copy of the required system fonts that were still located in the original "spotlight results" window.
• I attempted to delete the copy..when I did an administrator password box appeared I entered the password and the result was both system font folders were deleted (the original & the desk top copy I erroneously made)
• Now windows open but are blank with sometimes faded mini sized icons. If I click one of the mini icons i get a new blank window. I am unable to give any instruction, have total blank menus, dialog boxes, etc.

Once you have a proven, working Charger... Charge the Device for a couple of hours. Then try to turn it on.
If no joy...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

Hi, no eMacs had G3s, only G4s. Is it maybe an iMac G3?

ONLY Apple could answer this.
If they determine that the ipod is defective, then warranty will cover it.
If they determine that it is damaged, then the warranty will not cover it.

I recently just downloaded the 'Waze' app as a backup for my Garmin. I've read a few reviews that seem to rant and rave about how good the GPS app is. It is community driven and maps are constantly being updated by users. Plus it has a few other fun stuff in it (something similar to Gasbuddy where you can owe prices on the map). But like the person above me said, there is lots of useful free GPS apps in the App Store.
Oh and I may be wrong but I remember reading an article about Google being slower about updating its maps system--ie no turn by turn voice, which many people have had complaints about.

Have current Firefox on 3 computers. Get no response on all three even though different server involved. Firefox won't stay up long enough to try your fixes.

Why is the backup encrypted when i didn't even check the box in itunes

I downloaded the latest version of itunes, sync my iphone and then upgrade the software to ios 5.
But when i try to restore my backups after the upgrade. It prompted for a password.
My backup file states complete and encrypted when i didn't check the box for encryption.
Any idea what is the default password for it?
Has anyone encounter this situation before and any solutions available?
I need to access a lot of important contacts in the backup

I see other people have these grainy flash photographs if you try to take a picture in darkness the picture comes out very dark and grainy I thought the software would ultimately fix this but it's been going on for over a year I usually take my photographs in daylight but I need this to be fixed

The flash on a smartphone camera is tiny. It only lights up a very small area right in front of the camera. It won't light up the whole scene.
Have you seen the size of the flash on a professional camera? Even they can't light a whole scene in the dark.
Fact is, a smartphone camera is not capable of taking good photos in the dark, even with the flash.
You'll need to buy and learn how to use a professional, dedicated SLR camera to be able to take good photos in the dark. It is not easy.
