APPLE DOCKING STATION NO LONGER WORKS WITH TOUCH 3G and 4G after ios 4.2.1 update.
I have both of these touches. I updated both 3g and 4g to ios 4.2.1 and poof...no docking station support other than charging, no audio and no remote function. My av/cable works with the tv, and the headphone jack still outputs audio, just no auido through the Apple dock and hte remote is dead. I purchased the dock from the apple store last year and it was working with both ipod 3g and 4g grrrrr...
Is Apple now in the bug trade business?, trade one for another....
Anyone else have this problem?

My iPod Touch 3G running 4.2.1 works fine with the Apple docking station.
Perhaps you have a loose cable somewhere and/or a dead battery in your controller?

After the IOS 6 update on my iPhone the Apple ID is not longer working with Face Time and Message. Each time I try to log in I receive the message that the password or the user is not right. It sounds like you restored from an old back-up. Did you back-up just before your software update? It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.

Bose docking station no longer works with software update

Has anyone figured out how to get their iPod to play music through their Bose docking station after the latest software update?

- Some users have reported similar problems after updating the iOS. I do not remember if it was for the Bose. You can look at the previous podiscussions on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This".
You can also use the communities search box in the upright and search for: bose.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Sometime a restore did it too. For some, nothing helped.

Apple USB modem no longer works with Mountain Lion

Now that I've upgraded my iMac to Mountain Lion my Apple USB modem no longer works. Does anyone know of a software fix or have I just lost my faxing ability with this item and have to buy something else?

That's a very sad situation as the Official statement link above (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3152) states that the modem cannot be used with any Windows. So Apple thinks that people investing in the ability to Fax and relying in Apple's good product only deserves to throw out their modems (because now it is useless on any platform)...

Sony docking station speaker not working with iPod touch

We bought a Sony docking station for the iPod touch (4th generation) we got our son for his birthday. The speaker on the docking station works when playing the radio, but not the iPod touch. We returned the docking station for another, and we are having the same problem. Which is why I am pretty sure the problem is the iPod touch and not the docking station. The docking station actually will charge the iPod, just not project sound out of the speaker with the iPod. It will, however, project sound out of the speaker when using the radio.
Is there anything simple I could be missing in settings? I can't figure this out. TIA!

Apple Start page no longer works with Safari 1.3.2?

I just set up an iBook G3 with Mac OS X 10.3.9, with all updates, and opened Safari, which is set to got to the Apple Start page initially:

Safari loads the page, but two areas are blank: the "Hot News Headlines" in the middle of the page, and the "iTunes Movie Trailers" on the left side. No content appears in these areas. If I click on the "All" next to "Hot News Headlines" a page of html-code text appears.
When I load this page in Firefox or Camino, these areas have the expected content: text in "Hot News Headlines" and a picture in "iTunes Movie Trailers".
I know Safari 1.3.2 is pretty old now, and cannot be upgraded to anything later, since it's integrated with 10.3.9; for this reason I recommend using a more current browser such as Camino or Firefox with this System. But I was just wondering: has anyone else seen this behavior? Is Apple's own web page now too much for Safari 1.x to handle?

Yes, Safari v1.3.2 is quite dated by today's standards. And yes, the Apple StartPage doesn't work for me either 100% on Safari v1.3.2.
Most Panther users have migrated to Camino. FireFox 2 is no longer updated for Panther either.
On Panther I use Opera and SeaMonkey.

Apple wireless keyboard no longer working with boot camp Windows 7

Hi,
I've had Boot Camp installed for about half a year now with no problems.
Yesterday my wireless keyboard stopped working with it, it also appears that bluetooth isn't in the device manager or in the control panel, it could no linger detect either my magic mouse or keyboard despite having fresh new batteries. They do however still work with my Mac OSX partition. It also lets me hold down alt to choose which OS to boot into on startup however when it gets to the log in screen for windows the keyboard stopped working.
I've tried unpairing them in OSX then trying it in Windows but like I said bluethooth doesnt even appear to be there and it wont detect them. I've also tried reinstalling the apple drivers twice, still doesn't work.
If it helps I have a early 2011 iMac 21.5inch and it's Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Why does my Iphone 4S and my sons Ipod touch (4g) no work with the Sony XDR-DS12iP after IOS upgrades?

According to Sony my apple devices are compatible - and they used to work.... Since IOS 5 Upgrades they no longer play music through the docking systems speakers. They charge, but they refuse to play. Why? What have you done Apple to mess these expensive devices up? My eldest son's Iphone 4 works ok.

My iphone 4s & Ipad are also having the same issue for my phone I did find this solution that seemed to work - only for my phone though:
go to: settings>general>accessibility turn on "assistive touch"
tap on the the new icon that appears on the screen (top left side -the black square w/a white circle inside)
go to "device"
I found my device was muted so I tapped it to unmute - I have had to do this a few times, but it does seem to resolve the immediate issue. Try it - but apple needs to come up with a solution SOON

Airport no longer works with WPA, WPA2 or WEP after 10.4.8 update.

A little disappointing.
After updating to 10.4.8 (I first did Software Update, then read here that the downloaded is safer, so I downloaded, repaired permissions, rebooted, installed 10.4.8 again from the download, rebooted, repaired permissions once more)
Now when I try to use the Airport on my MacBook Pro 17" I cannot connect to my wireless router (DLINK-524) with any security turned on (WPA, WPA2 or WEP). The signal strenght flashes on full (I'm close to the router) and off and I do not connect.
Any clue how to fix this?

I just did that - I tried a rollback with an "archive and install", and then stopped at 10.4.7. My problems persist... I'm actually quite amazed! Qurious if a clean install would solve the issue, but not curous enough to try. The way i see it, a re-install (even doing an "archive thingy") should include resetting all drivers. Well, either I am wrong and they are saved along with user settings - or else your explanation seems the only viable one; that there was a firmware upgrade included in this install. I admit - I did NOT read any readme. On the other hand, I tried my first install using the normal update.

Anyway, after deleting all system prefs, deleting and reconnecting networks, repairing disk permissions and key rings, deleting keyrings etc. etc. - doing it all over again in different orders etc., I tried "arhive and install" back to 10.4.7. When that doesn't solve it, I give up. I have now opened my network - disabled crypt, and settle for simple connection control on MAC adresses. That works.
I would REALLY appreciate a fix, ladies and gentlemen on Apple. I mean really as in I am gonna egg your house if you don't give me...

The menu opens up and the category highlights, but that is where the action stops.
It doesn't complete the action and link.
It has worked well for years on desk tops and laptops.
This is a serious issue for me as iPads and mobile devices are so popular and used a lot in this tourist town.

Using windows XP. After replacing a bad keyboard apple special keys no longer work with Boot Camp 3.2

My Original keyboard (MB110LL/A) was damaged. I recieved a new keyboard (MB110LL/B) from the Apple Store online. Now none of the special Apple keys, volume up, volume down, eject, etc. work anymore. I have Boot Camp 3.3 installed on Windows XP. Boot Camp 3.3 requires Windows 7. I cannot get a replacement (MB110LL/A) keyboard anywhere.

Adding to the above: I also tried plugging in an Microsoft USB keyboard at the point when Windows freezes at the Windows log-in screen. The keyboard is not recognized and the only way I can leave this screen is to power-off the computer.

IPhone 5s no longer works with my JVC car stereo after upgrading

I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 last Wednesday (the 17th). When I drive, I synch my phone to my car stereo system (a JVC unit -- I can't recall the model number but it was installed just a year ago). After the upgrade, it worked fine. But on Sunday morning the phone experienced a hard crash and I had to reboot it by pressing the home and sleep buttons together. The phone came back without any further incident.
When I tried to make a call later that night I found that instead of my phone being active on my phone it tried to play music instead. I couldn't figure out how to stop this, so I turned off Blue Tooth. And now, when I try using the phone the Blue Tooth seems to synch up, but the phone cannot dial out -- I get a "called failed" message on the car stereo screen. If I look at the phone, I see that the phone has been activated, but it isn't dialing out. And then the phone will make bogus calls to an unrecognized number, or to a non-number. It will do this every 30 seconds or so. If I dial the phone manually, the Blue Tooth seems to work and I can talk to people hands free as usual. But when the call ends (and I don't always have a "call end" button showing on the JVC screen) the phone will again attempt to dial a bogus phone number.
The only thing that has changed is I upgraded my iPhone to ios8. Are there known issues around Blue Tooth connectivity? I also reset my phone to factory specs and reinstalled ios8 from my PC via the Lightning cable. This didn't change anything (I did that on Sunday evening). The Apple trouble shooting pages are of no help with this (I've already looked at them). I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me -- I think I've tried everything I know to do.

I upgraded to ios 8.0.2 and it still won't work. The phone will synch to the JVC blue tooth, but will not dial out. The phone is activated and it has the screen that indicates it is dialing but it isn't. And then the blue connection drops and won't reconnect.

I can no longer work with MS Powerpoint and especially Excel since I updated to Mavericks.

If I right click to add a row Excel crashes.

Zoom H4 no longer works with logic pro and 10.5.6 update. HOw to Fix.#@##ED

i have a zoom H4 that i am using as an interface at the moment. all was fine untill i updated my computer to 10.5.6 around christmass.
in my last post a few days ago someone said to update the H4 but it has the current drivers already (2.20)
The zoom is now only working as an out.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
