"apple-+" does not increase font size in preview pane in mail.app 4.2

i have letterbox http://harnly.net/2009/software/letterbox/letterbox-beta-4-for-snow-leopard/ installed on my machine. before the SL upgrade, i could hit cmd-+ and increase the font size of the message i am viewing. that was super convenient!
i can't do it any more. any ideas anybody on how to bring that back? btw, if i open a separate window for the message, i can use cmd-+ to increase font size. but no more can i use it in the preview window.

the obvious suspect would be letterbox. it's beta (=bugs) and I've also heard report that it's incompatible with 10.6.2. you can try uninstalling it and see if that fixes the issue.

  • Importing classes does not increases SWF size

    Hi, there!
    I was doing tests, and realized that the some classes of AS3
    does not increases the size of the SWFs. In AS2 UIComponent class,
    for sample, the SWF increases 4 kbytes importing this class
    (UIComponent).
    So, I ask you: which classes does increase files size?
    Thank you in advance.
    CaioToOn!

    Hi, Andrei!
    I've already tested instancing then. And the SWF file became
    636 BYTES, not even 1 Kb. I believe that this size (636 bytes) are
    only about the bytes of the characters of the Class. Look the code
    below:
    package
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.filters.BevelFilter;
    import flash.filters.BlurFilter;
    import flash.filters.ColorMatrixFilter;
    import flash.filters.DropShadowFilter;
    import flash.display.Loader;
    import flash.filters.GlowFilter;
    import flash.text.TextField;
    public class Main extends MovieClip
    private var e:BlurFilter;
    private var e1:DropShadowFilter;
    private var e2:TextField;
    private var e3:GlowFilter;
    private var e4:BevelFilter;
    private var e5:ColorMatrixFilter;
    private var load:Loader;
    public function Main()
    load = new Loader();
    e = new BlurFilter();
    e1 = new DropShadowFilter();
    e3 = new GlowFilter();
    e4 = new BevelFilter();
    e5 = new ColorMatrixFilter();
    te.filters = [e, e1, e3, e4, e5];
    e2 = new TextField();
    e2.text = "CaioToOn!";
    addChild(e2);
    It really don't increases the file size. Only because of the
    extra characters.

  • How to change font size for my replies in "mail" app?

    for the record, I tried adjusting the font size in my replies in "mail" app via general > accessibility > larger text to the largest size - yet when I clicked on reply in the mail app, the font remained small, very small. please help!

    If there are really only a few sites that you have problems with, just go to the site, and click the Command key along with the plus key.    This will temporarily increase the size of the type.
    Command and the minus(-)  key makes type smaller.  These commands will work on a per site basis.

    Our first Mac user in the office - Macbook Air - purchased last week.

    How can we adjust the preview pane font size - make is larger.
    We can adjust the font size for new messages and the inbox list of emails is large. But the preview pane font is still small. Cannot figure out how to permanently make it larger. We understand that we can open the message and zoom on each one. but looking for a permanent solution.

  • Tried all suggestions still can not increase font SIZE. Help

    Need SIZE INCREASED on all sites. too small for my eyes.

    You can "zoom" all sites using this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. After setting your Global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
    (''In case you are not familiar with the zoom feature: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Page%20Zoom#os=win&browser=fx5 Page Zoom | How to | Firefox Help]'')
    After installing NoSquint, click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab. Please see the attached screen shot for reference.
    (If you don't have the Add-on Bar displayed, you can right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.)
    You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but I wouldn't go much higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
    If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.

  • Controlling Font Size in Preview

    Is there a way to increase font size in Preview before printing? The default is too small for me, and I don't see where to control font size.
    Thanks.

    Yes, you'd have to load them, (HTMLs), into another APP, say Text Edit even, select all, then set the Font and/or size before saving as a PDF.
    Once it's a PDF, it preserves the Font, size and everything else.
    Another Option would be to load the PDFs into a PDF editor, say Acrobat Pro, and change the size there.

  • Can you get wireless hard drives for the new ipad as apple again havent increased the size

    someone has mentioned that you can get wireless hard dives for the ipad.....this would be beneficial as yet again apple have not increased the size of the maximum hard drive of their new "soon to be released" ipad.....thanks Lee

    The wireless "drives", which are more truly media streamers rather than true file storage, continue to be an optiono for the new iPad just as it was for the previous versions. Confirm compatibility with iOS 5.1 before purchasing, just in case the product might need an update for the new version of iOS.

  • Reset textarea height while increasing font size

    Hi all,
    I am using text area. While increasing font size it is not resizing.
    canvasText = new TextArea();
    _canvasText.height = _canvasText.textHeight + _canvasText.getLineMetrics(0).height;
    i am using this code to calculate height of text area.
    Its working while i input the text. but while increasing font size it maintains old value. Again when i input text it calculates new one.
    Please any one can suggest me solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    -CK

    textArea doesn't measure its content.  You can subclass and add code that does.

  • When i delete files memory does not increase

    When I delete files from the memory the size of available memory does not increase. Why?

    Try restarting the computer, then select the disk's Desktop icon. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and check how much free space is shown. If it still hasn't changed at all then try the following:
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Although the suggestion to delete old Time Machine snapshots, if any, that will only free up space but will not fix the problem you have described. If you are deleting files but the free space on the drive fails to update, that means there is a directory problem on the drive that needs to be fixed.

  • Tables in iBooks not honoring font-size: css attributes

    Within my validated flowing layout epub, I would like to have a table that is rendered 80% of the base font and the superscripted text within the table render some size smaller than the rest of the text within a particular cell.
    However, iBooks on iPhone 5 renders not only the table but the 'span' text at the same size as the rest of the surrounding text.  iBooks appears to ignore font-size: styling in tables completely (it does honor font-weight: though).
    Is this normal/intentional behavior for iBooks?
    table {
         width: 60%;
         font-size: 0.8em;
         margin-left:auto;
         margin-right:auto;
         border-collapse: collapse;
    .super_script {
         font-size: 80%;
         vertical-align: super;
    <table id="table_1a-27">
         <caption class="table_caption">Table 1A-27</caption>
              <tr>
                   <td>Some text<span class="super_script">Note 1</span></td>
              </tr>
              <tr>
                   <td>
                        <ol>
                             <li>Beginning of sentence<span class="super_script">Note 2</span> than the rest of the sentence.</li>
                             <li>Some  stuff here</li>
                        </ol>
                   </td>
               </tr>
    </table>

    Ok so I puzzled thru my issues with getting iBooks to render superscripts and honor the CSS
    font-size:
    attribute.
    After playing around with verious versions of my stylesheet and different setting within iBooks for iPhone, it appears that iBooks does honor the font-size: attribute to a point.  If you set the text very small within iBooks using the 'AA' function, the app will only allow the content to become so small and then starts to disregard to proportional setting of superscripted text.
    It appears as you scale back out the font-size: attribute settings are applied when the resulting size is at or above the minimum font size for the device.
    The confusing part is when making the app text display size smaller the superscripted items stop being scaled while the normal text keeps getting smaller to the point of being the same size (or nearly so) as the superscripted content.
    Hope this assists someone else in the future.
    Btw is there a dev reference (Apple or otherwise) site for iBooks?  I'm have an iTunesConnect membership but the resources there are limited and vague at best (with the notable exception of Book Proofer).

  • Please help! How to increase font size in RemoteApp?

    I have weak-sighted user.
    There is some RemoteApp running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standatd x64.
    I need to increase scale of fonts to 125% and use 120 dpi fonts for this user.
    But  increasing scale of fonts disabled on RDP Session.
    Option to use 120 dpi font doesn't exist.
    On Windows Server 2003 I can locally increase scale and dpi and this apply for RDP sessions of all users.
    If I locally increase font scale on Windows 2008 R2 this doesn't apply on RDP Session.
    I tried to use desktop customisation to increase fonts of Windows Title, Menu and etc for this user. But I can't increase system fonts on dialogs.
    Please help me to increase font size for my RemoteApp.

    This is an old thread, but the problem persists on W.Server R2
    Interestingly, as Microsoft removed this functionality to solve this problem, wich in my case, with thin client's connected to the server, the problem is aggravated.
    It seems that there is not the slightest intention to solve this problem by Microsoft, since it is understood that each end-user settings, is completely independent of the configuration that should be the default Server or System Confg.
