Apple Does NOT support Safari???

I was JUST told by Constant Contact that Apple no longer is supporting the Safari browser!! I copied the transcript from CC incase I am not believed. As far as I was aware, it was still being supported. Can anyone please tell me if this is happening or not, so I can address this problem with the CC people.

Oh, right so Apple release a brand new version of Safari with Leopard, port it to Windows for iPhone development, develop a separate version for the iPhone itself and then decide not to support it!
You sir are being told porkies!

  • Apple Care registration page does not support Safari 3 for Leopard

I bought the apple care for my imac and was surprised to find Apple does not support their own browser for the online registration. I had to use firefox instead
    Visit
    http://www.apple.com/uk/support/register/
on your leopard mac and click continue.
    I then got.
For the best experience, please use a supported web browser.
    Mac:
    - Safari 2.x
    - Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 or later
    - Firefox 1.0 or later.
    Windows:
    - Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
    - Firefox 1.0 or later.

When you see this path:   /Library   That is your root Library.
    Open a Finder window.
Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left then open the LIbrary folder then the Application Support folder, then InputManagers folder, the Receipts folder.
For this path:  ~/Library/Application Support  (your Home library)
The Tilde character ~ represents your Home folder.
From that same Finder window select your Home folder in the Sidebar. It has a small house icon. Open the Library folder then the Application Support folder.
Move all the Conduit/CT associated files you posted above to the Trash.
    Try Safari.
I've yet to find the launchAgents.plist file in any Safari crash report in years. I don't think that's a problem.
Another way to find files on your hard drive is to go to your Finder.
From the menu bar at the top of your screen click Go / Go to Folder.
Example. Type in:  /Library/ApplicationSupport   click Go
Or type in:  ~/Library/Application Support   click Go

  • Ate a website that does not support Safari. What are my optional browsers?

I need to navigate a website that does not support Safari. What other browser are available to me if I am running OS X.4?

You may not need another browser. In Safari Preferences > Advanced, click the box "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
A new menu with that name will now be available. Choose the "user agent" that placates the website. That will at least load the page, but if you find it doesn't render properly you can always use Firefox.

  • As apple does not support Adobe flash how do I watch youtube other  videos and play games?

As apple does not support Adobe flash how do I watch youtube other  videos and play games?

There is a YouTube built-in app for watching those videos. If you can't find the app (it can't be deleted), then check that it's not hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > YouTube.
For videos on other sites then you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

  • I would like to sign-up for an  e-card web site.  However, I am not able to hear the music on the web-site.  It says that Apple does not support MIDI music.  Why is it Apple does not support MIDI music and what can I do about it?

I recently had wanted to sign-up for an e-card web-site.  However, when I clicked on the web-page, I am NOT ABLE TO HEAR ANY MUSIC.  The message shown is that Apple does not support MIDI music.
What other software can I download in order for me to listen to the music on this web-page?

Please don't tell my wife this, she's been working with MIDI on her Mac(s) since the turn of the century...
The statement from that web site is completely incorrect. What they probably meant was that their software doesn't support Mac. IMHO this is a sign of either ignorance or lack of concern on the part of the site creators. Back in the dark ages a lot of PC apps didn't support Mac but not these days.
Get into your Mac Help window and search MIDI. There's plenty of info there on how your Mac supports MIDI.

  • Why Apple does not support from Iran? And why not open a store in Iran?

Why Apple does not support from Iran? And why not open a store in Iran?

You think this is an injustice?
I think that injustice relates to rights that are not honored or respected, and I think we can agree that in no circumstance, human, civil, political or legal, is having or owning an Apple ID, or any other consumer item, a right.
Why should this happen? ...Iraq ... Afghanistan....
I believe that Apple, and most American companies, would love to have access to every market in the world, and Iran certainly (or at least, potentially) represents a larger market for Apple products than many countries in which they do business. So, given the choice, they'd be there.

  • HT201184 AT&T does not support Safari how do I pay my bills

AT&T does not support Safari how do I pay my bills?

That is very much a personal choice. Opera? Firefox? Chrome? In this case it may be a matter of what works for the ATT site. Although I have not seen another post regarding Safari not working with AT&T site.

  • In trying to open a adobe website (lightroom) a message to download flash player came up. But aperantely apple does not support It. Any suggestions?

How to overcome the fact that apple Ipad does not support flash player. Is there a way around this?

Please use the forum search feature to avoid repeating the same question which has been answered many, many times.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin may work on some Flash sites.

  • Many downloads require adobe flash player, apple does not support.  What options do I have?

Does Apple have an alternative program to run to support Adobe Flash Player?  There are many times I want to download or view something but I can't because Apple does not accept Adobe.

Apple does accept Adobe Flash (I have it on my Mac), but it does not exist for iOS devices.
Read this for the story: Thoughts on Flash
There are a few apps on the AppStore that allow you to view some Flash video content, although the results are variable.

  • Federal Financial Aid Form for college students does not support Safari 4.0

Can you believe the federal governments web site for on-line college financial aid does not support the latest Safari Browser!! They want you to download 3.1 or go to a different machine. If anybody has any suggestions let me know. Here is the link
    http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm

I just checked that link and although it told me that I was not using a certified browser, Safari was identified as one of the browsers (with a link to the browser download page). So, I clicked on Next and the form loaded.
It may be that the complexities of coding such secure pages (the US Visa applications have similar discrepancies) fail to identify accurately the browser you were using, OR (I see you are using 10.4) you do not have the latest browser (it needs 3.1 or 4.04). As Hawaiian Starman suggests, go for Firefox (if you are not going to update.

  • Apple does not support TV Out

I called Apple just now because I can not get the TV out feature to work to play a slideshow on my TV. The Apple representative informed me that this was an iPod application and that is not supported by Apple. I have the Apple AV cord, I tried three TVs, the problem has to be the iPod. Does everyone realize when they buy an iPod that application support is not provided? When I asked to speak to the supervisor, I was informed that they do not come to the phone. I will NEVER BUY APPLE AGAIN.

I don't know who you talked with at apple, but they
must have been misinformed. Apple does have a
support number just for ipod, I know because I've
called it and they solved my problem for me. There
should be a support number in your ipod owners
manuel. In my opinion apple is a great company who
puts customer satisfaction first. Please don't
condem the whole company for the mistake of one
    employee.
    Thank you,
I appreciate your help. I did call Apple, and I found the phone number. It was what happened while talking to Apple that made me angry. Apple may be a great company, but it needs to continue making improvements.

  • EBay does not support Safari ?

Today I was using EBay and Safari purchased a product and the payment would not not let me proceed. A pop-up box informed me that Safari 3 was not supported, I had to use Firefox.
    Is there anyway around it?

    Hi Wilber (and Barry).
Yes, I've been reading alot about this lately also. But I have to say I'm surprised. I have no problems in eBay or PayPal as a result of using Safari nor have I ever gotten any messages stating as much either. Not refuting this is so, just wondering why some but not others.

Downloaded HGTV design program.  When I tried to open it I got msg "MS Windows application  not supported MOSX"

This would indicate that you downloaded a Windows version of the program. Check for a Mac version.

  • I am trying to use sites on the internet which require Adobe Flash Player, but when I click on the free download, it says that Apple does not support this application, so I cannot use it.  This stops me viewing quite a few interesting things.  Any ideas?

I am trying to use sites on the internet which require Adobe Flash Player, and when I click for a free download it says that "it is not available for your device because of restrictions that Apple has put in place".  Any suggestions on how to overcome this?

Flash is not, and probably never will be, supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus it would be up to Adobe to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, something which they have never managed to do and which they have now given up on trying to do.

  • I would like to ask why apple does not support Whatsapp for Ipad

    Dear All,
As a relatively new apple user, i find it difficult to understand as to why apple doesnt support whatsapp for ipad. I am mostly on the go and carry my ipad for business purpose, and as you know, these days social networking is an intergral part of our lives, i find it perplexing as to why ipad doesnt support whatsapp. Almost all of my collegue's and friend are using this, it becomes increasingly diffcult to multitask between a phone and an ipad.
Could Apple kindly make it available for users. It would be really convinient, especially for people in the age group 50+ who would like to be in touch with their families regularly.
    Regards
    Bala

Whatsapp is meant for phones, authenticated via the voice carrier link. That's what the developer (nowadays Facebook, who bought the company) decided to do with their app. Hacking that design sounds dangerously against the TOU for discussion in these forums.
You can always search in other message boards outside Apple's regulations for what you want. Regardless, you will need an iPhone to authenticate and activate you Whatsapp account.
