Apple Ear Bud "Mic" vs others

Well, I searched and didn't return anything specific to my question.
I've been using the ear buds the 4s came with.....and I don't dislike the sound. I'm actually happy with sound.
I've been considering buying the upgraded Apple version with the different tips that seal the ear for fit.
The OEM buds, just wont stay in my ear and they are uncomfortable after 20min.
But not a slash on Apple, to me all hard tip buds are uncomfortable eventually.
My slash if there were one would be the cords for Apple products are TOO short. Even the charger.
But anyway, my dilemma is this. My wife loves the sound quality of the Apple mic. Others have also mentioned the difference when I call them now.
When I called her from the car she flat out said that the phone had the best call quality of any of the 10 phones I've ever owned and called her from.
I said well Im actually using ear buds. She couldnt tell the difference between when I switched in car to buds vs phone.
So I myself tried it using buds vs BT ear bud and I could really tell a difference. Amazing.
Not only are the Apple buds very very clear with perfect tone. Bud what I and my wife noticed was the lack of background noise that made the difference. WOW
So, due to the short cord, I'm leaning at a 3rd party pair of buds......but can anyone here compare the mic quality vs Apple buds.
I'm sure any of the 3rd party buds will have sound quality as good or better than Apple, but its the mic/call quality I'm concerned with.
I dont know if the awesomeness comes from the actual Apple mic or the phone doing the magic.....BUT I WANNA KEEP IT.

If you phone is still under warranty, you can take it in to the Genius Bar and have them check it. They will decide if it is covered by warranty or not.

Radio remote destroyed my Apple Ear Buds

I was using my apple ear buds for 4 months now, all he sudden after i got the radio remote, the left ear bud's volume dropped by 2 db, that is allot, not to mention bass frequencies out of phase now.
I can say from 16 years of recording records that the ear buds have been damaged, and i can not see how it was due to excessive volume but something with the remote, or maybe just was a matter of time due to the quality of the materials.
My ear buds, i have ONE question, will apple replace them of they have not a scratch?

Ear Bud Mic problem?

Ok I thought a week ago I had bad ear buds since the Mic/remote rutton on the right ear cord doesnt work. I used my apple care to get them replaced and these new ones out of the box of are doing the same thing.
Both Ear Buds sound great but for some reason that button doesnt work. I have tried them on my buddies Iphone and they work great. I tried his on mine and nothing. Am I missing a setting or something?
Any suggestions?

IPhone doesn't work with Apple ear buds . . .why?

I'm trying to use the ear buds that came with my 4S to listen to a radio program, but unless I keep holding the phone jack into the slot it keeps disconnecting and the program stops. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to twist it in or something? I've checked the case and it's not interfering with the jack.

Easy to fix it
1.Get a Cotton Bud
2.Insert it in to the Earpiece Input
3.Rub it inside the input(Be sure Nt to left any Cotton inside)
4.Pull Cotton Bud Out
5.Try to put the earPod In to the input
6.Make sure it is tiedly input Here(Here you have Earpod)
7.if this doesn't Work you might have a broken Earpod

Pandora and Apple Ear buds

I ahve noticed that when I am listening to pandora if I click to pause then I click to come back and listen the ipod application on the phone starts playing. Anyone else experiencing this or do I have to set something to overide this behavior...

After emailing Pandora I was told the apple earbuds were not supported.....

Does it bother anyone else that the new headphones for the 3GS not only have play pause and skip capabilities but also have volume control and everything but the volume works for the 3G and i'm sure the rest of the iFamily...

Wow, I need replacement soft ear buds for my headphones Apple doesnt sell them?

My dog managed to handle all three sets of the soft ear buds that have come with my Apple ear buds without damaging the ear phones themselves. I contact live support on the site who tells me to call apple care. I call Apple Care, and after a nice 10 minute wait I get a rep, who puts me on hold for another 6 minutes only to tell me they dont have them, I need to do a google search to buy aftermarket versions.
I love apple, I have apple laptops, and desktops. I have every iphone and ipod they have put out. I even buy their peripherals. Its hard to believe something as easily lost as these little solicone tips are not supplied by Apple anywhere to replace them.
Today I am truly disappointed by Apple! =(
Does anyone know where I can get a set of replacements?

My stupid ear buds broke again!!!!

I Had bought a pair of Apple ears buds just a couple months ago and after a week of use they eipoed. so I bought another pair because I need them for my classes. I really got frustrated when I bought my second pair and those broke too. The little top part of the ear bud just came off and then the thingy inside it broke just after my third use. I really need another pair. it's not fair that they keep dong that. I deserve a FREE replacement. Could you PLEASE make that happen. For FREE! That is what is on my mind!

Was the computer plugged into AC power at the time? It it has a three prong plug then the AC outlet may not be properly grounded or the computer's power cord is defective. This could be dangerous and should be fixed.
If it's a laptop and the charger has a two prong plug, try reversing the plug in the AC outlet, or try a different charger. With a two prong charger there can be AC leakage to the computer case, which will show up on the earphones. This is probably not dangerous but is not desirable. The new EarPods

Is there an earbud adaptor or some way to use the iphone ear buds when your ears are too small for them to fit?

My ears are too small for the iPhone earbuds or any Apple ear buds for that matter. I would like a converter kit to use the ear speakers with a head strap, or ear hook. Does this exist or do I get to invent it? I have 3 sets of the Apple products and they are usless to me.

How do I tell all my ear buds apart?

Over the course of several years, I've gathered quite a collection of Apple ear buds. The problem is, I can no longer tell them apart. Are there significant differences I should be aware of? Are there tricks to telling which is which? Here's what I've got:
-iPod Shuffle 1G 2nd Generation Silver - I believe this one was issued before colors were introduced
-iPod Shuffle 1G 2nd Generation Blue
-iPod 30G 5th Generation
-iPod Nano 8G 2nd Generation
-iPhones (I can tell these apart as they have volume controls)
Any help would be appreciated.

well, for a couple of reasons...
1) I was thinking on selling the Shuffles and wanted to be sure I put the original headphones with the original packaging.
2) If one of the headphones is superior to the other (technological changes, etc)

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Why can caller hear me when i use and ear bud

Why can't caller hear me when I use an ear bud. I am using the same ear bud that I used with the Cosmos touch. The Cosmos 3 that I just received worked for awhile with the ear bud but not it's now. Any suggestions? I'm seriously thinking about going back to my Cosmos Touch, I'm not like this 3. The only thing I like about it is the keyboard.

We definitely want you to enjoy the new phone as well and it's imperative to get the earbuds working with the phone. Have you tried a different set of earbuds? It it one ear bud specifically? Other than this, do all other sound options work? Is there any damage to the phone?

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.
