Apple "fixed" my ipod, but it's broken again!
I had my iPod shipped back to the company to repair it, and they did ship it back "fixed." Under the warranty, if you'e experiencing problems with your ipod within 6 months, then you can have them send you a box for packaging, and shipped back at no charge to you.(YES IT WAS ALL FREE :D)
After a couple of weeks, my iPod has been experiencing the same problems all over again, and my 6-month warranty ended. I PROMISE, that I do take good care of my ipod (I don't drop it or anything), so if you're thinking that I mistreat the ipod. :P I don't want to pay for anything that they possibly could've fixed before. What should I do?
PS. The problem I was experiencing was that it would not turn on, at ALL. Plus, it wouldn't charge, therefore the computer could not recognize it.

If all else fails, then you can send it for repair again because your warranty is for 12 months not 6 as you incorrectly stated, although after 6 months has expired, there is a handling charge applied.

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these. -

Restore it on your Mac. Restoring will erase and reformat the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. 4s stuck in recovery mode. try to restore apple icon comes up but goes itno recovery again. Itunes does not recognise. I wa trying to update software from laptop to phone and errored 4005.

My dad and sister think that if i take my iPod 4 in and try to get money for a 5 it'll be worthless how mine is can someone clarify if that is true or not. I really want to put money for an ipod 5 badly.
Hey Mazals, No, your family is right, you can recycle your iPod by turning it over to Apple, and as Skydiver119 has stated it's not much, 10% off the purchase price of a new Apple device, so a $300 iPod = $30 off the price, it's about what it would cost to get ride of an electronic device if you took it to a recycling center, you just can't throw these things away in the trash. Some electronics store will give you more toward the purchase of a new product, provided you buy the replacement from there store. (Generally, the device has to be in good working order, cracked screen may not qualify). I don't which ones, you'll have to do some research. Your other option is fix you iPod and continue to use it, BUT, there's always a but... you need to way in if it's worth fixing. Used iPod 4 are selling for about the cost to replace the screen-- provided you do the labor to replace the screen. Not worth doing if you plan to fix it and sell it. What ever you do, make sure you make a full backup to your computer before you recycle, repair, or sell. If you decide to sell don't forget to untether it from your computer, unlock it wipe it clean, so the next owner, can use it. Since your sights are set for a new iPod, I would recycle with Apple. Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

I would like to know if apple will replace it. If not, then I will take somewhere cheaper but it has some scratches so I would like to get a new one.
The home button doesn't work, the LCD cable is broken and the screen is cracked! Wow. That's the worst case of abuse that I've seen. I think that Apple will laugh at you.

It will not charge at all. It has no cracks or water dangme
It depends on when you purchased it.
If you got it under a year ago, it's covered.
If you bought AppleCare and got the iPod less than two years ago, it's covered.
