like we did before! I'm an educator and my students access the pictures folders for many projects (including PowerPoint, etc.). The way the photo library is locked down now is a hassle and "just one more step" for the kids to pull a picture to the desktop. I'm sorry if people corrupted their libraries (my 5th graders never did) - please don't lock the rest of us out. I don't want my kids' machines to be updated to iLife 08 if this is the way photos will be accessible.
(Sorry - I know there is a way to send a message to Apple, but can't remember how!)

Have your students open the the iPhoto library package like this:
Then make an alias of the Originals and/or Modified folders and put them on the Desktop or in their home folder.
You've got to remember that today's 5th graders are smarter than the general population.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

I got my AppleTV two days ago and I really enjoy it, but the fact it doesn't have a real "turning off" or "auto-turning off" or "auto-sleeping" feature when not used for a while , it's a real shame. With all the environmental problems we have and need to save energy, how that can be possible? All my Macs turn off by themselves when I don't use them for a while (i.e. Energy Panel).
Apple are you listening here? Could you please put an update to allow AppleTV to go in sleep mode automatically after 10-20 minutes of not use?

I see the merit of your point... however... the hard disks spin down whenever it's not in use... and there is a standby feature but it's up to the user to decide if they want it to be used or not...
45W vs 11W when idling around... that's a 75% improvement... 11W is leaving one of those new fangle ugly as sin lightbulbs running all the time...
all in all... 11W... is pretty darn spectacular.
i do think we need to do all we can to limit our waste... but there's a balance, too. I doubt we're baking the earth to death at 11W per user... maybe there are bigger fish to fry... whoops... bad analogy... in our effort to save the planet from ourselves.
maybe a project that teaches cows how to convert their own methane ***** into something less pollutive? there are probably more cows with greater gas output than appletv users at 11W.
But if you feel that passionately... go for it. You can save 11W and I'll eat beef to reduce the population of cattle.

It's not that I dislike safari but I need some features it doesn't support.

@Schack, Not gonna happen. Apple has the iOS locked down so that people can't share files and I am sure a big part of this is in the way they lock us into specific apps like Safari and Maps. The OS is tied to a specific set of UI coding to get to things like, address books, URL's, music, etc. so they are not going to unlock it for us.
I agree it would make the user experience a lot better to be able to customize the way the device you paid so much money for works, but it is a closed ecosystem and we are tied into it.

For example, I made a post with a tip for setting default zoom level in safari, and I want to add an addendum to my post for some additional hint to people having trouble implementing my suggestion. But I can't edit my original post. I can only reply at the bottom, which people may not see.
Or I asked for help and want to add additional info to help people help me. Can't do that except by replying, which again people may not see.

Why just 15 minutes?
Because these are high activity forums with many replies posted within minutes of when an original post appears. If people could edit their posts indefinitely, it would lead to chaos, with replies referencing things that no longer were there. If you need to amend or add to a post, it is much easier to follow the discussion if you do it in a followup post.
The time limit also encourages people to review what they write before they post it, rather than treating it as a rough draft. The forums provide for drafts with the 'save now' & automatic save features -- you don't have to post a message until you are satisfied it is in the final form you want others to see.

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

The iTunes Store has no phone support and never has. Contacting them has always been via web form. Go here:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I'm sorry, but the Apple moderators will only change a username in the instance that some personal information is revealed. Users have the option to choose their name when signing up for the forums, which is why it is recommended to choose one that you may not later regret. You need to first disable your antivirus and security programs and see if you can load the itunes store then. If so you know its antivirus blocking you.
Secondly due to xmas the itunes store is seeing a HUGE amount of people who got new ipods and/or gift cards. Yes Im sure apple tried to prepare for this but they can only estimate how many extra people they will have. Also SOME ISPs in local areas are limiting access for there costomers to the itunes store to save on overloads on there servers. Far as all this goes (If this is why your not able to connect) it should normalize after new years when people go back to work and school. Seems alot of people post about this issue during peak times which are normally between 8pm and around 10 pm when most people are on

Some phones can only send and recieve SMS messages. If the recipients phone doesn't support MMS they won't be able to recieve a text with a photo.
To get your photos in Photo Stream, you'll need to setup iCloud. Check out this Apple article for more info -> iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ

Known bug. Quit the Camera App, double-tap the home key and delete Camera from the recent apps bar. Fire it up again, should be good.
