Apple frozen on Screen

I bought an ipod on ebay and my computer and itunes won't recognize it. It is frozen with just the Apple on the screen. I have tried to reset and restore and nothing is happening.

Have you tried resetting your iPod(holding down menu an center buttons for 10 secs)? if so and has still not worked, try downloading the iPod updater.

Then, after installation, connect your iPod up to the computer(the iPod screen should say do not disconnect an a sign should appear)and run the program which should be MY COMPUTER, C:DRIVE, PROGRAM FILES, IPOD, IPOD UPDATER. Follow the steps in restore which will change it back to factory settings. I had a similar problem though with my iPod which froze half way through a song and could not turn on or be fixed so I had to take it to a local Apple shop to get it replaced. So what I have written above might not work but try it anyway

It's not uncommon for it to not work the first time and sometimes, you have to try it a few times. Turn off your antivirus software and your firewall while you are trying to restore the iPad. Enable them again after you restore.
If that still won't work, post back with detailed information as to what exactly does happen as you go through the process.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

On set up I am frozen on screen which ioS 6 cant get itunes to sync and I can turn the IPAD mini on but has no apps and is un responsive. When checking with computer its downloaded my pictures from Old ipad but I can see no apps or differing screens.
It is basically just a zombie machine with a screen with IOS6 on it. I have left it on with WIFI over night and still nothing.

In windows goto control panel>add and remove and uninstall itunes AND quicktime.

DISABLE ANTIVIRUS and security programs, then go here and instal "Quicktime WITHOUT itunes" http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
Reboot, disable antivirus again then goto apple.com and download/install itunes

Try booting in Safe Mode. Power down the Mac, wait 10 seconds, reboot the system... when you hear the system chime, hold down the shift key. Don't press the shift key before the chime, just after you hear it. Release the shift key once the Apple logo appears.
To leave Safe Mode, just restart your Mac but don't hold the shift key down during the boot process.

My Nano is frozen, the screen is blank with an hour glass thingy in the middle.
When I plug into computer, it tells me it has recognised new hardware etc., then computer doesnt recognise the ipod .... the screen is still on the hour glass thingy

Hey, I am facing the same problem with my ipod 8GB black version.
I tried connecting my ipod to my laptop (Windows Vista) and to my PC(Windows XP), tried downloading USB drivers and using the Reset utility from Apple site. Nothing works and the ipod just shows the hourglass.

Try a different dock connector (or no dock).

Frozen White Screen on Email

I have a frozen email screen (plain white) - have done a reboot, restart, delete account - all without success. Any ideas..??
I tried to copy multiple copies of photos (c. 30) into an email as images and unfortunately the email is now frozen as a white screen.
I have done the top button and swipe reboot, top and bottom button reboot, deleted the account and reinstalled - all no joy....!!
However I have managed to attach a photo to an email and send it from the photo area.
My email is an exchange type connected to a 3rd party server.
Help....!!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your Mail application is only showing a blank white screen. I also realize that you have done a lot of great troubleshooting already. One troubleshooting step I would recommend, if you have not already done so, would be to force the Mail application to close. After forcing it to quit, please try and open it fresh and test out the situation.

Can you please specify more, what generation and is it wifi or wifi and cellular?
The best thing to do with all ipad's is try ro set it back to factory setting, go into itunes, open the screen that displays your ipad and press, reset r factory settings or something like that.
Remember to make a backup first! Otherwise you will lose all your files.

Frozen Load Screen and Bad Optical Drive

Last week I was using the Internet to check email. It was very slow and eventually froze up (couldn't force quit or anything). I had to shut down the computer by pressing the power button. I waited a few minutes and turned it back on. Since then I get stuck at the loading screen. It just displays the apple logo, the spinning gear, and also what looks like a scroll bar underneath that.
I have read through some other threads to give me ideas to try such as resetting the RAM and SMC, disk repair, etc. To make matters worse, my optical drive hasn't been working since December. (Basically I stick a disk in about halfway and then it makes a weird noise and spits it back out.) I've been using an external optical drive to fix that problem.
#1. Can I use an external optical drive to boot from an OS X disk?
#2. Is there anything else I can try (aside from what I mentioned above) as far as getting the computer past the frozen load screen?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
