APPLE: Get serious about Education or get out

APPLE has taken lots of money from schools across the nation. In my experience, this has been the return:
- an iPad Lab that doesn't sometimes doesn't recognize some iPads, forcing me to unplug them and plug them in again
- a notification that they're not charging, even though they are
- a program - Apple Configurator - that is so buggy that it is almost unusable
- a web filter that blocks a website my school pays for - Study Island - even when every conceivable address associated with that website has been put on the whitelist
- a program - iTunes - that demands to open unsummoned when the Mac starts up, interrupting an already faulty Apple Configurator program, often causing a crash... the kicker is that I can't stop it from happening
- silly obstacles to supervising iPads, like having to keep location services turned off
Your product is ripping off millions of taxpayer dollars. You have shown little initiative in fixing problems that are basic roadblocks to usage. And you don't seem to care very much. When anyone asks me about computers or tablets, your company is the LAST one I would recommend. And that's including companies that make novelty abacuses or that refurbish old typewriters.

    Adobe was unsuccessful in developing a version of Flash for iOS. Adobe is now abandoning Flash on all mobile device platforms. This is a long dead issue, move on, there is nothing to discuss.
    Threats are stupid. Give up your iPad and you will be one of the few without one. Have a care for your derriere on your way out the door.

    I can't speculate about Apple's motives for this article, but I don't think IR is a normal occurance on IPS panels, nor is it normally seen on iMac's.  I've had several iMacs with IPS panels, not one of them has ever exhibited a bit of IR or "ghosting". I also, prior to purchasing my iMacs poured over the boards and various Mac centered forums, including this Support Community for any problems that purchasers were having.  I recall there was a screen brightness problem on several that persisted, there were other screen problems but ghosting wasn't one of them.  So I think that is an inaccurate if not disengenuous pronouncement.  Ghosting is apparantly occuring on several of the new MBP Retina screens using LG panels.  I don't think this normal or acceptable and I think the solution is that Apple and its team need to get with the panel manufactureres and other engineers and sort out the problem, and then fix the MBP Retina displays that are exhibiting this problem  It should not be an acceptable standard for any Apple product.  No other response is worthy of the standards that Apple has set for itself and its customers.

  • I was eligible for replacement for my iphone 5 under the sleep/wake button program. Took it to apple store and they declined saying hardware failure. I am baffled whether apple is serious about customers. They manufacture defective goods and we are stuck!

    The issue started just out of warranty. Had powering on problem and did not want to spend money on repair. After that the phone crashed and refused to power on for 4 months. Now I am eligible for repair but apple store declined saying it is a hardware problem and beyond repair. I am not able to comprehend the attitude of Apple. Obviously manufacturing sub standard products is their fault and we are paying heavy price!!
    The company is obviously gonna lose in the long run!!

    If the phone was not operating as its supposed to initially you could of had the phone replaced under the 1Year Warranty. Apple is only Fixing phones with strictly "sleep/wake" button issues. i.e. if your phone has other issues other than "sleep/wake" you must fix those on your own (if out of warranty) prior to apple fixing the sleep/wake. However if your device is under warranty they will give you a new phone.

How can you trust us to buy new iPhones when you stop supporting us with the ones we have since they are still upgradable to the latest iOS.
    Is there any chance that we will be given the support and would this issue be fixed with any upcoming updates? My iPhone when its battery is drained totally and I start it again the WIFI works until I try to choose another network or somehow I disable it then blackout!
    This is definitely a software issue that we never had problems before this update.

    Yes, it's a serious reply. Did you actually read the information at the link I posted? Especially the last sentence? The fact that it appeared when you updated to iOS 8 has no bearing on the validity of the article. It is not specific to any version.

    I have reset the phone, full firmware restore, even downgraded back from firmware 4.2.1 to .3.1.3 official by using dfu mode and still doesnt fix.
    (i correctly got out of dfu mode after the downgrade)
    i can enter dfu mode and recovery, and update through itunes with no problem, but it doesnt fix the problem,
    i have searched and found no answer to this problem, every option availible to try that i know of i have tried and failed. i dont care about preserving my content i just want a fix. i have a good understanding how to operate software on a computer and shouldnt be too confused by any advice given, so plz even if the answer is very complex i wish to try anything, please help me to get my iphone working.

    You can't buy more storage on an iPad. You are referring to space on iCloud and that probably won't accomplish what you are trying to do.

    Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

    Turn it off.  While pressing and holding the Home button, connect it to your computer with iTunes open.  Hopefully you will be able to restore it after that.  If not, it requires service.
