Apple hardware test gives me this code:  4SNS/1/1C0000008:TN1D--124

4SNS/1/1C0000008:TN1D--124
this is the code i get . I runned the test because my laptop is a macbook pro 13 2.4ghz mid 2010 with mac os x 10.6 and it is getting a reurrent problem that is that the fan starts to go faster than usual after 1 minute of starting up the laptop and the cpu load gets up to 99% of usage and the system becomes slow like the lag becomes extreme.
The laptop suffered a waterspill like 3 months ago but I got it fixed only  that the battery is no longuer working , not even a new one  i bought. Also a memory slot died and the microphone isnt working even if its new. I also got the dc in board replaced but the one i got was a 2008 model but seemd to be workign fine until last new years eve when it got back to the lag.
Can you tell me if its a faulty temperature sensor on the logic board that causes the fan to accelerate or as a laptop repair guy told me it is the hard drive. Could it be the hard drive? Would i get a hard drive kind of error if it was that? i doubt its the hard drive. the guy wanted to sell me a new hard drive so maybe he new what the problem is and wanted to make me think its he hard drive so i buy a new one from him.
If its some temp sensor then I dont get why i get a normal temperature reading using a program i got that measures it , it marks 38 Celsius, which seems normal temp to me.
Also the laptop is receiving 16.6 v at the dc in pin connectors after i checked it with a voltimeter.
So, what do you think the problem really comes from? Can it be repaired?
thank you

Hi eww thank you for answering.
I have installed Istat pro and all temperature sensors measure ok ( Celsius )
HD 30
CPU 36
Heatsink B :34
NorthBridge: 29
Are there anyother sensors.
4SNS/1/1C0000008:TN1D--124
This message indicates the sensor that is wrong? I have no apple care. Where can i get someone tell me which sensor is wrong? I live in a small city ( Ensenada )north of mexico and there are no oficial apple repair specialists around here!
Thank you !

  • How do i remove a failed apple hardware test from About this Mac?

I ran  Apple Hardware Test quicktest using the wrong disk/ version of AHT that did not support my motherboard.  Now under About this Mac .. more detail.. diagnostics it shows this failed test. i want it out of there. Thanks, jim

Long story .. but board is a different model than original.  ... bought water damage repair off of Ebay... got a call that it could not be repaired but they offered to replace the board for only 20$ more... so i let them do it. Original board was early 2008 2.4 GHZ Core Duo, new board is 2.2GHZ Core duo late 20007...  they put an older board in than was original. i'm not real happy but it works... I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Apple Hardware Test detected an error code... now what?

I ran AHT and I got this message:
Alert! Apple Hardware Test has detected an error
    4M0T/1/40000003:HDD-1424
Can anyone shed some light on this?
My early 2008 iMac has been having issues with the spinning wheel when opening and using applications. I can't seem to pinpoint when it happens, but many times I will have to shut down or power the machine off to stop the wheel of death from spinning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    bump... any one else?
I was able to boot the machine up today and I am noticing the top of the machine is getting very hot. Could this be the overheating issue I have read about here in discussions?
I was also able to transfer files to an old eMac, so I am backed up, but that transfer slowed after the machine warmed up. I would shut the iMac down and let it cool... it then transfered great while cool but slowed when it heated up....
I am taking it in to a local authorized repair shop Monday morning..... just hoping for some more thoughts before then.
    Thanks!

  • What does Apple Hardware Test error code 4MEM/1/40000000:OX3bb6b190 mean?

Mozilla kept crashing so I did the Apple Hardware Test and got error code 4MEM/1/40000000:OX3bb6b190. I reinstalled MacOs 10.4.4 (after saving the important stuff to disk of course) and it took about 10 tries to get the 2 disks installed. After the installation, I tried to update to 10.4.5, and when I restarted, the screen was blank. The only disk the computer will start with now is the No. 1 installation disk. What can I do?

    Hi
A MEM error code generally indicates a faulty RAM Module. In my experience most RAM manufacturers offer at least a 5 year warranty of their RAM products. Some warranties are for 10 years. Sometimes reseating (taking it out and putting it back in again - properly) the Module will 'cure' the problem. Run AHT afterwards if you try this option first.
If you can remove the offending module and still have enough RAM to be able to do what you need to do then do so.
If not take it to your nearest Apple Repair Specialist who should fix it for you or replace the faulty module yourself and deal with the RAM manufacturer directly.
Judging by the footer to your post you don't seem to have had much luck with this model have you?

  • G5 Full Speed Fans/ The Apple Hardware Tests Error Code

Since yesterday My DP1.8 G5's fans are max speed like jet engine. I tried PMU resets , Disk warrior. But nothing helps. The Apple Hardware Test gave me error code of "post/192/0" . Do you guys know what does this error code mean?
    Thank you.

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
I think thast the error is related to the "Power On Self Test", or POST. When you start the machine, are there any beeps, or power button LED flashes? If there is a POST error at startup, the power LED would flash in cadence with the beeps..
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
Do you have any new RAM installed?

  • Apple hardware test error 4SNS/1/40000000: TB1T-128.000

    I have just bought a used Macbook unibody 2.4, 6GB DDR3, 500GB 7200
And did a apple hardware test which showed the error "4SNS/1/40000000: TB1T-128.000"
What might it mean and how serious it might be?
I tried to google it and found out but not successfully.
    Could anyone help with it?
    Thank you.

It's a sensor error. We have no access to the "translation" of hardware test diagnostic messages. You'll need to take the computer to an Apple service center.

  • Apple hardware test failed

I have a 3 1/2 year old MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz. Suddenly I started getting kernel freezes....your computer need to shut down.... Sometimes I get the same message at upstart. Sometimes the screen starts blinking and them freezes with grey/green lines down the screen. The Apple hardware test failed with failure code: 4VCD/1/40000003: VideoController. I can start from the restart in hardware test.
Any suggestions out there?? Anything a non apple technician can do?

The service shop said they couldn't do the graphic card test, so they believe it isn't covered by the repair program. But they said the card is the problem, just not that problem

  • The error code 4MOT/4/4000003:HDD-1393 has shown up from the apple hardware test. What should I do about this?

My iMac has been running a little hot, it was suggested to run the Apple hardware test (AHT), as heat can cause problems witht he hard drive.
The AHT revealed the error code 4MOT/4/4000003:HDD-1393 which I assume means a hard dtrive problem. But, what do I do. Is this a critical error or a minor fault. Everything is running as normal, but the machine is getting a little hotter than usual.

This indicates problem with HD fan.
Exact nature of the problem is only known to Apple.
We have no way to interpret this error code.
Keep a backup of your data.
When you get a chance, take the Mac to the nearest Apple store to have it tested.
    Best.

  • HT4543 Hi guys, I got this error code when I did my apple hardware test. 4MOT/2/40000004:HDD-1379 does anyone have an idea of what this could mean? Please Help .

Hi guys, I got this error code when I did my apple hardware test. 4MOT/2/40000004:HDD-1379 does anyone have an idea of what this could mean? Please Help .

You can buy and install the hard drive you want to. However, on Late 2009 and newer iMacs the temperature sensor is in the hard drive, so if you replace it with a hard drive that has not got a temperature sensor you will have serious fan problems.
You have got an Early 2009 iMac, so do not worry about this. You can buy a hard drive at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/3.5-SerialATA/ Follow these steps > http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iMac+Intel+24-Inch+EMC+2267+Hard+Drive+Replacement/9 028

  • 2008 iMac running beautifully untill recently. Screen glitches and freezing. Apple Hardware test showed error code  4MOT/2/40000004:ADD and I have not seen others with this code. Guessing it is a fan issue based on the ODD and HDD error codes

computer felt hot and while running apple hardware test the screen glitches covered the screen and it froze. Now computer wont boot up. Again AHT code is 4MOT/2/40000004:ADD and I have just seen ODD and HDD codes discussed on other threads. Those were hardrive or superdrive fans, so I am guessing this is a fan issue and then it fried by graphics card. Any help as to whether this is game over or worth repairing would be very appreciated.

You need to take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for a professional evaluation. Apple does not publish the codes from AHT, you can Google the code you got and see if you can determine what it means however the best method is to let a pro handle it.

  • HT201257 mac os x 10.4.11 tiger: apple hardware test has detected an error (what does this mean): 4SNS/1/40000001:VDOR

Can someone help?  I did an apple hardware test and it has detected an error:  4SNS/1/40000001:VDOR
What does that mean? Can i correct it myself? how?
my computer is  "tiger" mac os x 10.4.11, Processor: 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo,  Memory: 2.5 Go 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Thank's for answering, realy appreciate your time,
A technician had installed last year "mac os x snow leopard 10.6" (family pack) at around $49.00 - I had originaly mac os x 10.4.11 (tiger).  He had changed my hard drive, added memory: 2.5 Go 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, processor is: 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo  (he told me he had to change my hard drive probably due to a power shortage. Before he did the changes, I had done a hardware test: it gave me the same error as today 4SNS/1/40000001:DVOR,  He cleaned the inside, but he did not change any sensors. What am i to do???
Not too long ago i started having problems. (probably from a power shortage, at one point.  I don't know if my external back up got corrupt. so i don't want to use it. He had eraced tiger 10.4.11 and installed snow leopard 10.6.
I eraced snow leopard and installed mac os x 10.4.11 (that came with my computer).
I wanted to install mac os x 10.6 (snow Leopard) without eracing tiger (chat sites say you can do that) but it said it couldn't use my hard disk because of my memory:  my info says: used: 18,78 Go on the disk, available: 446.66 Go, Capacity: 465,44 Go
So that's when i did a hardware test with the CD1 of mac os x 10.4 (tiger) and that where i got the message.
If i have a sensor problem, then i guess i'm waisting my time trying to reinstall mac os x 10.6 (snow Leopard) or am i doing it wrong.  I was told i could leave tiger there and upgrade directly to snow leopard, without installing mac os x 10.5 (leopard).
    Thank again

  • MacBook won't boot after trying to repair with Disk Utility. Cannot boot in Safe Mode. Just powers down after about 5 minutes. Apple Hardware Test says error 4SNS/1/40000001:IG0C-0.265 But I cannot find anything on the net about it. MacBook 4,1 Intel.

    Hello Everyone,
I am in dire need of assistance I am hoping someone could provide. I have a MacBook 4,1 with Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4GB Ram. It is taking over 10 minutes to boot up past the gray apple screen when I turn it on. First I cleared the PRam (?) then I checked the disk using Disk Utility Verify, and it said the disk needed repairs. So I ran the disk repair and it said it was unable to fix the errors on the HD.
I did a little research and tried booting into the Single User mode, then running /sbin/fsck -fy. It said that it found errors but could not fix them. I ran it two more times as suggested and got the same result each time. I then tried rebooting and now instead of taking 10 minutes to boot up, it takes about 5 minutes on the gray apple screen and then just turns off. I started in Verbose mode to try to troubleshoot the error and it appears the last thing to come across the screen before power down is a message "Apple Yukon 2: RxRingSize <= 1024....etc".
I decided next I would run the Apple Hardware Tester. The test came back with an error code "4SNS/1/40000001:IG0C-0.265". I am very good at searching the web but I could not find any errors that had the IG0C or IGOC or any combination at the end, but plenty of 4SNS/1/40000000(1) errors with different endings. From what I can tell people are saying anything with 4SNS/1/4000000 is a logic board failure, but this computer was literally just booting this morning until I did the /sbin/fsck -fy.
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

You've a couple of issues .... when Disk Utility tells you it can't repair a drive, if the error is a soft error, like an invalid tree or node, Disk Warrior (or TechTool Pro) can handle it. However, if Disk Warrior (or TechTool Pro) can't handle it, you can erase and write zero's to the hard drive and restore to it, or you can buy a new hard drive. Sometimes running SMART Utility can provide additional insight into the health of the hard drive.
THe 4SNS error is a sensor error.  You could install iStat Pro to see if something is indeed getting too hot or remaining room temp or less.  You may need to take it into an Apple shop so they can use their thermal diagnostics to test and isolate it further.

  • Apple Hardware Test (MacPro) result codes

Hello, My MacPro has been doing the wierdest things like freezing up, although the mouse will move. Freezes while monitors are sleeping. Freezes when I move mouse towards dock. Freezes for no apparent reason ... all updates have been performed.
Bright idea tonight, I decided to run the Apple Hardware Test provided on my install disks ... I got an error code "4SNS/1/40000001:VMBS". No idea what it is or means and have searched high and low on the internet for result codes.
Does anyone know what this means?
I have been supicious of my ATi Radeon X1900 XT for some time as there have been artifacts and odd colour shifts and graphic anomalies.
Thanks for your help, all is appreciated.

apple hasn't released a key to the public as to what the hardware codes mean.  you really need to take it in for diagnosis.

  • Apple Hardware Test Codes

I began having frequent kernel panics and ran Apple Hardware Test receiving the following results:

      Version:          3A202
      Test Suite:          Extended Test
      Result:          Failed
      Failure Code:          4PRC/1/40000001: Processor
    So, how bad is this?

Googled, binged, and yhaooed, before posting. Closest hit was maybe logic board. I have a service appointment tomorrow at the Apple Store.  Kernel panics on the hour give or take a couple of minutes.
