Apple have agreed to replace my iphone, BUT I NEED HELP!

They said they would because it was the touch screen that stopped working, not because of any drops or damage or anything like that. They're going to bring me a new one next week, but i'm slightly worried about the condition of my phone.
A couple of months ago i smashed the screen and made the decision to repair it myself (which was very sucessful) i am aware that this breaks my warranty, but can they tell if the phone has been opened? surely if they had done the repair it would have had the the same effect on the insides?
As well as this, the little water damage detector on the bottom has turned red (but the one in the headphone jack is still clear) even though my phone has not experienced any water damage as far as i know, and if it has then that's certainly not what broke the phone.
Will they still replace my phone?
PLEASE HELP!!!

The thing is that they're delivering it to my house on monday, my sister will be here to exchange the phones, and if there's a problem i won't be there to explain etc.
There will not be anyone to explain it to.  Apple does not personally deliver the device to your home, it is shipped via one of many carriers (depending on where in the world you are).
You've voided the warranty, you freely admit that.
You might get lucky and they simply over look it.
You might not get lucky and be charged the out of warranty price.
Only APPLE can make that decision.

    Lindsay,
Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard.

  • I have my page set in percentages, but i need help....

I figured to set my page in percentages so it can conform to any size screen or resolution. but the thing i dislike about it is that when you minimize the browser window, the text on the page shifts in order to fit the screen, but the images remain the same and what not. how can I make my page viewable in most, if not all, screens and resolutions without using percentages. another things about using percentages is that I cant use a fixed banner (that is in pixels). please let me know what is the best solution. hope this made sense lol
    thanks,

i dont have an insurance on my iphone , but i heard from my friends that the apple store cover my phone for an year, is that true?

The iPhone comes with a 1 year warranty.
This covers defects but not accidental damage.

  • HT5622 I have verified my Apple ID several times on my Iphone but a can not install APP updates?  The same Apple ID works fine on my Ipad for updates etc.???

I have verified my Apple ID several times on my Iphone but can not install APP updates. Everything work fine on my Ipad using same AppleID ect.?

Sign out and back into your apple id from Settings>iTunes and App stores>(Your apple ID)>Sign Out and then sign in again with the new address. Close app store from running in the background (or restart the phone if your unsure how to do this). If when trying to update any apps they are still asking for the old apple ID, delete and re-install those apps.

  • Need to replace my iPhone -- but laptop was stolen. Please help!

    Hey all,
So it's been a rough few weeks. About two weeks ago, the Macbook I was syncing my iPhone 3GS with was stolen while I was out of town. I made the mistake of not backing up my data, and I lost everything... documents, music, movies, etc.
Though I lost a lot of it, I realized that a good amount of music, movies, and TV shows are still on my iPhone 3GS.
Fast forward to this past Monday, my iPhone 3GS craps out on me. It turns on, but won't accept any input commands from the screen, buttons, silence switch, etc. Not only that, but the sleep/wake button got jammed.
Now I know its likely that Apple would replace my iPhone, but that would lead to losing all that media I have on the device! My entire music library, which I've spent years building, remains only on my iPhone. I have about 30 GB taken up on my 3GS.
*Do Genius Bar folk have the capability to transfer media off an iPhone onto a computer of another phone?*
*If not, should I look into third party software?*
I'd appreciate any and all help on resolving this problem... big thanks.

Only if the phone is working. But if it were then you could do it also. If you connect the phone to a computer does it show up in iTunes? If it does you can try "Transfer Purchases" on the iTunes File Menu.
*If not, should I look into third party software?*
Again, Only if the phone is working. There are third party apps that can retrieve SOME of the content of the phone.
I'd appreciate any and all help on resolving this problem... big thanks.
I think you are out of luck by now. No backup of your computer, and when you lost the computer you didn't bother to save what was on the phone, which would have been possible as long as the phone was working.

  • Just got new ipohone 4s and used my wife's appleid to sync some apps.  i now have my own appleid. i have logged in on my iphone but when i choose to update apps my wife's appleid is still there.

just got new ipohone 4s and used my wife's appleid to sync some apps.  i now have my own appleid. i have logged in on my iphone but when i choose to update apps my wife's appleid is still there.

This is happening because there must be one or more apps on your phone that were purchased using your wife's Apple ID.  Apps and their updates are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, regardless of the ID you are currently using in Settings>Store.  The only way to stop the prompt for your wife's ID would be to delete these apps from your phone.

  • My iPhone 4s. Keeps coming up sim invalid, I have to keep restarting my phone but doesn't help, it's only 5 days old and I'm fed up now with it now! Any solutions please?

There is obviously something not right... But to determine what the issue is, it needs to be looked at...
And the Apple Store would probably be the best place...
    Just my opinion...

i have tried to restore my iphone but keep getting error 1015 any suggestion

Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state.

    Hello Janey,
It sounds like there is an issue with the audiobook you purchased from iTunes.  I recommend following the steps in the following article to report this to the iTunes Store:
To report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase, follow these steps:
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.

Connect your iPhone to your computer. Tp your pc should recognize your iPhone as a camera. Use what ever application you have on the pc to transfer files from a camera to your computer.

You can try, but the iPhone warranty terms state that Apple "may" restrict warranty/service to country of original purchase...key word here is "may".
    Good luck.

It looks like the article below has the information you are looking for.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2613
    Turn off iCloud completely
Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
Note:   If you delete your iCloud account, iCloud will no longer back up your iOS data. You can still back up your device in iTunes (for more information, open iTunes and choose iTunes > Help).
On your Mac, open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.
If your Mac has OS X v10.7.5 and you turn off iCloud, your calendar information and reminders aren’t stored locally in iCal. If you want to retain your calendar and reminder information, you need to back it up before turning off iCloud. For more information, see the Apple Support article iCloud: Calendar & reminder data removed from Calendar and Reminders or iCal when disabling iCloud Calendar.
On your Windows computer, open the iCloud Control Panel, then click Sign Out.
Note:   If you turned on automatic download of music, app, or book purchases (in iTunes preferences or in Settings on your iOS device), your iTunes purchases are still downloaded to your devices.
Set up iCloud on your devices
