Apple headset lost or stolen

My headset completely disappeared today, The first thing I did was turn off the Bluetooth, and then on again... It showed that it was paired but continued to search for devices, thats when i knew my 140 dollar headset was gone:( The real question is, do you guys think not having a hook on the headset played a part in it just vanishing without a sound or anything, i love the fact that it was very light.. But that means you will not hear the thing if it drops, still a awesome product I must add. Also i am thinking about purchasing the jawbone instead of another apple headset only because I am scared of going threw this again, what do you think? apple's headset gives me the ability to listen to music wireless while on a call, is this possible with the jawbone?

i tried answering a call & then listening to a song & it does works. but the problem is once the call is ended, the audio switches back to the speakers.
you can't listen to anything in the ipod section of the iphone via the bluetooth headset except when on a call. only voicemail gives me the option to select how i want to hear it - bt headset, iphone or speaker phone.
i'm just trying to listen to audio books & i need one ear free. the sound quality isn't that great, but it is nice to be untethered by a cord.

  • Lost and stolen

    Hi,
My Ipad 3 WIFI got stolen a few days ago.
Possibility of finding it is very slim. I really don't want this robber to use my ipad. Is there a way to block my ipad through the serial number?
    Thank you,

There's no way to block it.

  • Can apple track down my lost or stolen ipod touch?

is there any way apple can track down my lost or stolen ipod touch?

No, but if you have activated Find my Iphone/ipod on it then you could have a small chance of locating it if it is around alot of wifi hot spots.

mac book pro apple care exactly over? everthing but lost or stolen?

It's hardware coverage of factory defects to three years from the date of purchase of the machine + phone support.
You can buy it within the one year standard warranty, but it's still only three years max.
Doesn't cover software issues, data recovery, user damage, accidents or thefts.  OS X may be reinstalled in the repair process but really doesn't count as fixing software issues.
It's sort of mandatory, as eventually one will upgrade OS X and a firmware update can brick a logicboard by exposing unknown flaws or drivers for video cards causing issues.
Never upgrade OS X without AppleCare in place as Apple has multiple points of potential failure on the logicboard, the parts are not more seperated like on PC's and thus cheaper to fix.
A new logicboard out of applecare is prohibitive, you'll be better off buying a new machine.

  • Can apple locate a lost or stolen iphone

Can apple locate a lost or stolen iphone4 ? My son thinks he left it at a local store yesterday and of course when he went back no one knew anything about it. He did not have the "find my iphone" app installed and also did not use icloud. So we're wondering if their any options open at this point or do we just move forward with an insurance claim and be done with it.
    Thanks, rgares!

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.

I have apple care plus and I know I can pay a fee to replace my phone if it's damaged, but does this cover a lost or stolen phone as well?  Can I pay the 49$ fee to replace my phone if it's missing?

No. AppleCare+ only covers damage, not loss or theft.

  • Locating Lost or Stolen iPad or iPhone

Basically, this is a posting for BOTH Apple and mobile device users.  It contains suggestions for Apple and tips for user who have lost a trackable device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, etc).
Recently we misplaced an iPad in an Orlando airport.  After several days of going through a lot of processes, contacting many agencies, etc. I was able to determine its position to recover it.  In the proccess, I learned a lot, and by being an electronics and software engineer, I see holes that Apple could fill to help out customers in these situations.  Of course it occured to me that Apple may not have an interest in helping users recover a lost or stolen product because it might be viewed that a user will just order another one.  I bet sales would actually increase if it were guaranteed that a lost iProduct could not be used by another person.  So being that such protection with in-field products could be done with an OS firmware update, I will first suggest the following changes in hope that someone at Apple is listening.  After all, they are really smart people, yet I am amazed that only no assistance or tools are embedded into Apple mobile devices during production for when they are lost.
    APPLE SUGGESTIONS:
    1. Don't require a user to separately set up a MobileMe account or iCloud account to be able to track a device.  Build that application into the mobile device OS.  Allow a user to enable or disable device tracking settings from the remote account.  If a user desires, it should not be allow to be disabled at the device even if it is reset.  In this way, a person who has stolen a device won't be able to deactivate tracking. Yes, I understand that in order to track a device that it must be connected to an internet network, WiFi or cellular network at some point.
    2. Create an ability in the iTunes account for a user to report a lost or stolen device.  If you see that device connected in the future, then report that fact back to the owener and don't allow any updates or purchases to occur on that device until the owner cancels the "BLOCK".
    3. Put a LOT more information in your support forum about how device tracking works and suggestions for various ways to recover a device.  What you have there is painfully insufficient.  With tens of millions of your devices out there, I bet that hundreds of them are lost each week, and you are doing nothing to assist a user to relocate those devices.
    USER TIPS:
As you might have seen already on other forums or postings, one possibility to find a device is through the "Find My Device" feature, yet if you didn't install that app and turn on the ability to track the device in advance of losing it, then you are out of luck.
HOW I LOCATED MY PAD: In my case, I did not have a cellular data plan activated even though the iPad2 had AT&T 3G built-in.  I was always using my iPhone as a WiFi hotspot for the iPad internet connection via the iPhone (nice feature that Apple included).  Thus, when the iPad was lost and no longer near my iPhone, I was not able to use the "Find My iPad" app even though it was previously installed.  I could only locate it if someone opened the iPad and connected to a local WiFi network in order for me to see where it was located.  That did not happen.  Thus, I discovered the little known AT&T site of http://ATT.com/ipadlanding so I could sign-up for a one month $15 data plan.  By entering the iPad IMEI and ICCID numbers (from my iPad product box) into the online account, I could create a new data plan.  Within minutes of doing it, the iPad (still had battery power after 4 days) lite up on the "Find my iPad" web site when it saw the AT&T cell network.  By using a combination of Google and phone directory services to get the address and phone number of that location, I was able to call and get them to locate it after I sent an audible alert and message to the iPad.  Of course, this only worked because I have an iPad2 with ATT&T 3G.
Best wishes for finding your device.

someone from Apple must watching these forums because I got an email about it from an Apple employee to ask more questions.
Sometimes they do, but with thousands of posts to scan through, it's not often that comments to Apple will be spotted by anyone in a position to do anything about them. Using the Feedback is a more reliable way of sending comments and suggestions to Apple.
I plan to go post on their feeback site anyway as it appears this is mainly a user to user forum.
Correct, it is intended to user-to-user communication, not contacting Apple (which is as it says in the Terms of Use we all see when we first sign on).
    Regards.

Without the original Apple ID & password, you cannot activate iPhone.
It's the new IOS7 Activation Lock that prevent thief restoring/wiping stolen iPhone for reuse.
There's no way to bypass this, you need the owner's Apple ID & password.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod (Settings>iCloud) and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and and go to FIndMyiPhone. You can also wipe the device, and have it play a sound .If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - Apple will do nothing

What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
