Hi Apple techs. I'm having password login problems with the Mail app ver 2.0.5. This just started this morning and looking through the discussions addressing the same problems and so many other users complaining about the same issue, it looks like something has happened or a corruption. Never had a problem before today. The password window keeps popping up asking for password and the gear spins. I can't get my mail now. Can you find out what is going on. Thanks for your help steveb
Hi Allen. Thanks for your help. Although some of us have sbcglobal as the isp, people who have called sbc support are saying to contact Apple about the problem. So far, there is no source or agreement on what the problem is with Mail. it isn't working. It could be a server problem or it could be the program. Many people have just develpoed the trouble today and apparently sbc is saying it isn't coming from them. Just a thought. steveb

Apple help me please I dont have a Apple Device
I went to login on iCloud.com using my (Apple ID) and it said you must use a Device to activate it, to I downloaded iCloud Control Panel and it says: Your Apple ID is valid but is not a iCloud Account WHAT DO I DO!!!
You should start by actually reading the error messages.
You can not create an iCloud account using a PC. You must create the account on an Apple device, a Mac or an iPhone/iPad etc. Once you do that you may sign in from the Winbox. -
BT email not working. Cannot send emails from btconnect SMTP after iOS upgrade. This is the only difference I am aware of. Apple iPad 3. Can anyone help me please.

Deleted the SMTP setting
Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
Able to send emails now
No logic - as usual - just a bug! -

Help needed please, everytime I try to update the software version on my iphone it comes up with a message saying it could not be completed and is now frozen with the apple picture and progress bar on it. Do I unplug it and hope the macbook pro sees it again, I also stupidly did not back up before starting the download which I realise I will have to go back to the previous back up. This keeps happening, everytime I do this type of update, I'm starting to think I should just give up on updating my software on the Iphone. I thought it was happening because I was using a window based computer to do the updates, this time I used my Macbook Pro. Please somebody help

My AppStore id is my apple id n password which is good when purchasing. But when I am updating from update option it ask for a password. The user id I see there is not mine, it's different. How do I change that to my apple Id? Please help me resolve this issue. I have tried resetting it but nothing... Either I'm doing something wrong or....
I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace -

when i got home and created my own apple id , i had the following problem :
when i tried to update the applications that he installed , i am requiered to put his password that i do not have , even that i have changed the apple id in the settings , could anyone help me please:Sorry but you will need to Delete those Apps and Purchase them using your Apple ID.
Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID. -

My Macbook Pro is stuck at the loading screen (the apple with the spinning circle underneath). I went to Best Buy to get help, and they told me to call Apple Help and ask them to 'restore my unit', which he said is a matter of only about 4 mouse clicks. If it was so easy, I didn't understand why he couldn't do it for me. But he said that even though I have a 3 year warranty and protection plan with them, they were not responsible for this type of problem. Whatever.
Anyway, so I called Apple Help, and even though he was familiar with my problem, it's been more than 90 days since I purchased the laptop, therefore I'd have to set up a service agreement to get his assistance, meaning I'd have to PAY him. So now i'm stuck, and I'm just hoping somebody knows what to do to help me
I don't have any disc that I apparently need, and I don't remember ever getting one. However, if there is some other way to fix this issue, please let me know. Thanks for your time and assistance
