I use Firefox at work. We have a standard home page we use. In IE all my new pages open at our home page. With Firefox I have my home page set, but all new windows I open, open as a blank tab/blank page. I want to have all my new windows/tabs to open to my home page.
You can always just middle-click or ctrl+click on the home button to open it in a new tab.
For exactly what you're asking for, there's an addon for that:

Hi there,
In 'Tools / Options' my Home page set to a folder but does not open multiple links in tabs. It only opens the first link and only partially opens the page.
The 4 pages I am trying to open are:
http://www.live365.com/index.live
http://www.facebook.com/login.php
http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=10&ct=1193340789&rver=4.5.2130.0&wp=MBI&wreply=http:%2F%2Fmail.live.com%2Fdefault.aspx&id=64855
http://webmail.123-reg.co.uk/index.phpHi this did not work either.
Also when I tried to log into this forum the browser just kept taking back to the login page. There were no errors, it was as if it was stuck in a loop. The page refreshed but moved no where. My user name and password were there but nothing happened. It took a reboot to allow access.
This seems to be something I have noticed. When a page reopens on start up or from a link it will not load the page properly causing errors.
Also on a similar note the new Firefox is not remembering passwords. Specifically to hotmail.
Cheers,
Ash. -
Apple Home Page not loading correctly?
Only when I visit www.apple.com, the images do not load. This is extremely stressful as it also disorganizes everything on the site. Is it some preference on my MBP (or Safari) that is wrong, or what?? Is anyone else experiencing this on the apple home page as well?
P.S. sorry I had no idea where to post this topic?Hi Tizzyler!
If you clear the Safari Cache, quit Safari and try again does it correct the problem?
And I have requested that a Host relocate your Topic to the Feedback Forum.
If they agree, it will be transferred so it is not necessary for you to repost elsewhere at this time.
Although here in the Safari Forum is also a good fit.

As I said above: I Have Firefox browser home page set for Google search, but each following tab (but suddenly now it) opens w/Yahoo search instead. How do I remove the Yahoo search off the added tabs and have Google home page/ blank tab (like it used to be) on every tab????
The new Firefox Start Page - '''about:home''' - isn't the same homepage that was used in earlier versions of Firefox - http://www.google.com/firefox There is no "setting" for the "Search Container" on the about:home "page" - in the Options UI or in about:config .
Set that old "Mozilla Firefox Start Page" as your "homepage". <br />
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
Or open your Profile folder and delete the '''webappsstore.sqlite''' file and hope the "Search Container" on the about:home "page" returns to Google. When it '''''is''''' Google, the Google logo appears to the left of the "Search Container"; when the search engine there has been changed to something else, there is no logo to the left of the "Search Container" - AFAIK. -

I have my home page set to Google. When I open a new tab I want it to also open as Google instead of tabbed browsing. Would you please email me how to do this, please? Thank you!'''''
Kind regards,

I just opened the Apple home page [ http://www.apple.com/ ] and noticed the animation for the iPad.I right-clicked [in Boot-camp] and it did not show up as Adobe flash. It's simple automatic animation, like a slide show. How did they do it? I suppose they didn't use iWeb for their website software! Actually, what would have probably used? thanks!

it's done with prototype and scriptaculous
prototype.js is part of iweb javascript framework/library.
scriptaculous is extension of prototype.js
and the function is scriptaculous Effect.Parallel , this allows them to fade in one image and fade out another image at the same time.
it's not done with mootools.js and slideshow.js, and I know; mind you... mootools is good but it's extra in iweb case.
now you don't have to study the code, just have to understand it.
lastly, as of iweb3... you can build your own iweb3 widget to link in scriptaculous.js (or just about anything else), but you need to know how iweb3 works. -
an unprotected wifi network brings up the log in screen that goes to the apple home page. how do I prevent this?
This seems to be the best working option (while not 100% success):
From Demo:
Try this.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
Home Page setting option is not working after saving a new or different home page on Firefox 19.0. When opening a new page (not tab) it always reverts back to the default "Modzilla Firefox Start Page" no matter what.
That was it! There was a duplicate preference file in the profile folder. Followed the instructions under "Locked Preferences File" to
6. Delete any prefs-n.js files where n is a number (e.g. prefs-2.js).
Once I deleted it I was able to then save my preferred home page.
Thanks!! -

Home Page setting does not survive a system re-start
I have recently started to have trouble with my Firefox Home Page. The settings get lost when I close Windows down and re-start.
I run Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7 Starter (SP1).
What have I done?
Set home page to iGoogle in Windows, set home page to iGoggle in Firefox
Result: Home Page setting does not survive a re-start.
Set home page to Blank in Windows, set Home Page to iGoogle in Firefox
Result: Home Page setting does not survive a re-start.
Set home page to iGoogle in Windows, set Home Page to Blank in Firefox
Result: Home Page setting does not survive a re-start.
Checked Firefox help, advised to edit User.j(?) file. Following the instructions failed to locate the User. file, a search of the entire C: drive failed to locate the file.
What next?''' "Set home page to iGoogle in Windows ..." '''
Firefox has its' own setting for the Firefox homepage, it doesn't use "Internet Options" settings in Windows. <br />

As far as not having a '''user.js''' file, it isn't a standard file in Firefox. It is an optional file that the user creates to "lock" certain prefs or it might be added to Firefox via an add-on or by an "exploit" perpetrated on the user by another piece of software that they installed. -
Apple home page and some other sites won't load via Safari.
Apple home page (and other sites) will not open in Safari. Randomly, others will, especially those saved as bookmarks. I've reset Safari, cleared the cache, verified the DNS - no luck. Wifi works fine for other devices. Mac OS 10.5.8/Safari 5.0.6. Any suggestions?
Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.

Safari 4 can't open Apple Home Page?
Starting yesterday when Safari 4 top sites page showed me a star on the Apple Home Page thumbnail, I go to www.apple.com and get a "Slow Script" error message telling me that S4 is no longer responding for that reason. What's up with that?
Several times a day I get this message "Safari can’t open the page “http://www.apple.com/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding."
Is it me, or is there something horrifically wrong with Safari? And before anyone asks, yes, I did restart/update/reload/redownload/delete cache/toss plist/start completely over...
...I've had so much trouble with this computer it's ridiculous. I've wiped it clean and restarted from scratch so many times it's wrong... -
at least two times my firefox preference home page has been changed. bing did it the first time, and there have been others. this time it is an unknown location. the new home page has no logo, and i'm not sure who it is. i've got avg protection software, the purchased version, for protection, but now i'm not sure if we are secure. not even sure how this hijack occurred. when i shut the system down using sleep, the system said new software updates would be installed on startup for firefox. the next time i started up, there was this new home page. is there anyway to prevent this from happening in the first place. if i install new software and the home page is changed, i can correct that, but this change was out of the blue. i think it was associated with firefox, but i'm not really sure. haven't installed new software for ages.
can anyone help with prevention? Please create a screenshot of your Firefox by following the guide mentioned at [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]].
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the '''Browse...''' button below the ''Post your reply'' box. This will help me to visualize the problem.
Also, I am assuming you have not clicked any links saying something like 'Set this page as my homepage'? This may seem a stupid question, but you may have inadvertently done this by pressing Enter on a page.
