Apple ID already in use/2 apple id's

I have an apple ID for iCloud, and another one for my purchases. Now the last one is on an old email address that I don't have anymore, and I want to change it into another email address. I have read that I can not unite both apple id's, so I want to connect my shopping ID to another email of mine.
When I do that, it says that this email address is already connected to an apple ID.
I look that up on applied.apple.com and see that indeed all my email addresses are linked to my iCloud ID address, so I have no address left that I can connect with the old address that doesn't exist anymore.
How can I solve this?

    My current Apple ID, for which all of my content has been downoaded (e.g., music, apps) is associated with a work email address that I will no longer have access to in the near future.  In my Apple ID account, I noticed I had two alternate emails listed, one is my .me account and the other is my .gmail account.  I use my .gmail account, and it is the primary email I use with friends and family.  I noticed both were not verified, and when I tried to, it said they were both associated with other accounts.  I was able to log into a separate Apple ID account I must have set up at tone point with my .gmail, and I changed the email address to a new one I created.  I also deleted the gmail account from any other Apple-relted account I could think of.  I am still gettgin the same error message when I try to add it to my current Apple ID: "This email address is already in use or you may already have an Apple ID associated with this email address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID."
    My concern is this: with FaceTime and now iMessage, it seems more important than ever that I am able to use my correct email address.  With iOS5 beta, I cannot enter either my .gmail or.me accounts under "You can be reached for messages at:" as I get an error stating: Unable to verify email because it is already in use."
    How can I remedy this issue and assign my .gmail account to my Apple ID?

    I just spoke with a technician at Apple.  I hsven't been able to verify because the wife has the phone.  but he said all that you need to do is:
    1) Go to Settings --> iTunes Store and login with your Apple ID and pwd
    2) Go to Settings --> iCloud and login with your Apple ID and pwd
    seems that the phone requires you to login to the store first...

    I tried to create an ID account a few hours ago using my current email address in order to use ibooks. I completed all stages and even provided my visa card - I received a message from my bank that 'my visa was authorized for an indicative amount Euro1.00 @ Apple' BUT I never received an email in order to verify my apple ID.
    Please note, at that moment of my registration there was something wrong with my internet connection and I not sure if the registration process was 100% completed. I then tried to sign in using my email address and it says that my username or password is not valid. I tried all procedures to reset password/username but it doesnt allow me to do anything - since it doesnt recognize my name or my date of birth/security question. Then I tried to create the ID again, doing the procedure from the beginning but then it says that my email account (username) is already in use. I am blocked here and cannot use my email to register! (I registered with my old email address so I can contact you here). Any advice? Thanks in advance.

    I think you should contact Apple support and explain the problem to them.  It's not unknown but it might have a security side to it.   Better safe than sorry.

  • After finally getting my imac from fedex,  cannot get past the Update Apple ID and to use ICloud I have to change my app  id.  okay, but the red keeps saying that email address is already being used.  is it because I am on the apple site on a netbook pc?

    On the Update Apple ID screen to use ICloud, I get a red message that email address is already being used.  It does not accept my email address?  I do not understand what the screen is asking me.  Is this because I am using the apple ID on a netbook for this note or what. 
    Is there a way to bypass this screen if I don't want to use ICloud?  I don't want to screw up the original setup of my imac.  If I could get to the desktop, then I would know what OS and programs are in my machine.

    You can change the primary email address on an account by logging into it via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into it.
    You won't be able to change it to an email address that is being used an alternate or rescue email address on the account (they can be viewed/changed/removed via http://appleid.apple.com), nor to one that is currently being used as the primary email address on an account

    Thanks but that doesn't give me the information I need.  I am putting an email on my ipod for people to contact me for iMessage and FaceTime but when I put the email in, it gives me an error saying that the email cannot be veirified because it is already in use.  My Apple ID can be varified, just not the email that they will contact me with.

    If you selected open a new Apple ID account, go back a step and enter use existing Apple ID.
    You will have to set up a separate iCloud account or your iPads will mirror each other.

    You will need to try changing the email address on the first account and see if you can then re-use it on a new account - you can try changing the email address via http://appleid.apple.com or by logging into it via the Store > View Account menu option on a computer's iTunes (if you don't have a spare email account then you can create one via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com)

    If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • I just got an iphone 3GS and am trying to set up a game center account and it lets me log in with my apple id and password but when it come time to set up a nickname it tells me my email is already in use with another apple id. How do I fix this?

    I have been trying to log in to the game center for 2 days now with no luck. I have an apple id and have never used game center before. It keeps telling me my email is already in use with another apple id and I have no idea how to get around this and would like to be able to play my games.

    If the problem persists, you'll probably have to make another apple id, it wont take off any games or music or apps or anything you've bought it will all stay there, i have two apple id's and i don't have a problem with anything.

    Whenver I try to make an Apple ID account with my main email (Hotmail), it always says that the email address is already in use. I am currently using my Gmail address as my Apple ID. I've tried recovering my Apple ID through security questions but it always says the birthdate that I entered is incorrect. When I try to send a recovery email I never receive one. When I try to find my Apple ID, no results show up. The only time I remember using my email to sign up for something associated with Apple was when I was setting up my MacBook. It asked if I wanted to receive newsletters, notifications etc from Apple and I entered my Hotmail email for it. Don't know if that's the problem.

    I just got my IPhone today, and I'm feeling a little ignorant here, but I cannot log into the app Find Friends.  It keeps telling me I have the wrong password, but I am using the correct password.  So I go to Iforget to attempt to figure out what is wrong and notice when I am in My Apple ID that I have a big yellow triangle with a ! inside that says:
    Make your Apple ID and primary email address one and the same.
    So, I attemt to do so and then in red appears the message:
    That Apple ID is already in use.If this Apple ID was created by you, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password.If it does not belong to you, try again using a different name.
    I am lost.  Heaven help me cause I can't help myself.  What is going on and what do I do? 

    I can ignore the yellow ! but that doesn't help that fact that I cannot log into My Friend app or Icloud because they keep telling my my password is wrong and when I go to figure it out in my account I get that error plus the message That Apple ID is already in use.If this Apple ID was created by you, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password.If it does not belong to you, try again using a different name.

    So I just got an iPhone yesterday , to make an apple ID I used my email address.
    It told me the email is already in use , even though I never made an apple ID before but anyway it told me to change the password for it ,
    So I went and did that but it seemed like somebody else had been already using my email address as their apple ID because when I went into manage account , firstly the name was totally different , the address was Canada's and a phone number was there too and security questions were asked in French.
    Now that sort of freaked me out, has someone hacked my email address or what ? And why would they use my email address as their apple ID why couldn't they use their own ? This seems very dodgy someone please explain if they know anything thanks...
    Btw I didn't change any information on the account yet just Incase I had to report it to apple ( and I'm still not able to use it as my apple ID)
