Apple id and itunes match

My wife and I just purchased a MacBook Pro retina and we are trying to do the iTunes match.  Unfortunate I'll be were getting an error that says "this computer is already associated with an Apple ID you cannot download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days".  Wondering if there's a way around this.  Thank you.

Hi,
You can only use one Apple ID for iTunes Match.  Read the following support documents as you may run into problems if you use another Apple ID.

  • ITunes Apple ID and iCloud Apple ID and iTunes Match

I have a family Apple ID associated with my iMac and iPad for iTunes and Apps. I have two new iPhone 5s. Each iPhone has been setup to have a separate Apple ID for email (iCloud) and to use the family Apple ID for iTunes and Apps. Can I initiate iTunes Match from my iMac and use iTunes Match on all devices especially since the iPhones have two Apple IDs "loaded" ?

    Hi,
If you are using the same ID for Itunes purchases, APPs and Itunes match, you should be OK. Separate ID can be use for iCloud which is not the same as iMatch.

  • Apple TV and iTunes match

    Hi,
One of my Fist Generation Apple TVs has just died on me. Won't start anymore and has a flashing orange light. I will give it a proper send off, but first things first I need a replacement.
I am aware of iTunes Match and that it streams the music from the cloud. What I would like to know is whether t streams the TV program's that I have bought from iTunes? If it does it finally makes sense for me to upgrade to the new one, if not it's back to eBay to find a new old Apple TV :)

That's good then. So to clarify:
I have all eight seasons of House purchased on iTunes. I don't need to have my PC on to watch them on a second or third generation Apple TV?
No you won't need the PC on, but could still stream from there if you want to.
To view near instantly you need 2.5 Mbps for SD and 6 Mbps for 720p HD, 8 Mbps for 1080p HD.  Any slower and it'll buffer like renting on an AppleTV1.
    tom1502 wrote:
Plus I don't need to buy iTunes Match either. I wouldn't have to rent it again or anything like that!
    Not for TV Shows.

Yes, from your iTunes login credentials.
    tom1502 wrote:
Does it o this for my music and playlists too?
Unfortunately you need itunes Match for music - it doesn't actually make sense to me for any music you've purchased from iTunes, only for 'matched' MP3s or CD rips.

Apple TV 2/3 is sounding far better now.
You'll also be able to use Netflix though content is farily limited currently.

  • Multiple Apple TVs and iTunes Match problem

I have three Apple TVs and have iTunes Match - my full library of music only shows on one Apple TV - on the other two Apple TVs it displays only recently purchased songs from iTunes - any ideas

Maybe I should be more specific...
We have three atv's. The kids want to play their own iTunes Match playlists on one of the atvs with their apple id and we would like our own iTunes Match playlists on the other atvs. But when we change the apple id on one atv, it changes the id on the other two so that they are all synced. Is there a way to have mutliple atvs with different iTunes Match apple ids active at the same time on the same network?
I would prefer not to use home sharing to avoid having two iTunes apps open.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • HT204053 Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel Network Internet iCloud.  Enter the Apple ID you want to use for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes iTunes Store.

Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel > Network > Internet > iCloud.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes > iTunes Store.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

If you are attempting to share to both at the same time, you can't.
Are you selecting the second AppleTV in home sharing options on the MBP. Are all devices signed in for Home Sharing with the same AppleID?

  • Apple TV artwork and Itunes Match

    Hi Folks,
I have recently updated a lot of the album artowork on my itunes on the PC and embedeed this into the files. No issues there.
When i turn on itunes macth on my apple tv i notice it is dispalying some of the old artwork that was previolsu updated to the cloud and not the new artwork.
Is there anyway to update this or is it a case that through scanning, Apple TV will cath up?
Im turned itunes match on my pc off and then on again but so far no joy.
Any help would be grealty appreciated.
    Thanks folks
    Simon.

I think there is a problem. No artwork or playlists show on my Apple TV for itunes match. It actually caused the remote app on my devices to stop connecting to my Apple TV too. As soon as I turned off iTunes Match on Apple TV remote could connect again. Bit crap really. I wish I hadn't gone through the whole saga of resetting the Apple TV / rebooting router. Turning iTunes Match back on still has missing art and no playlists & also blocks remote app. Bloody apple, too many problems these days!

  • Can I use multiple apple ids with iTunes Match?

My family has multiple apple ids although we share many devices.  If we subscribe to iTunes Match, will it pull all the content from all the devices or just one apple id?

iTunes Match is associated with one, and only one, iTunes Store account. To use iTM on multiple devices all those devices must be signed into the mobile iTunes Store with the same AppleID.

  • Cannot see BOTH synched library AND iTunes Match library at the same time

I ran iTunes Match on my library of MP3 files and hit the maximum allowed 25,000 song limit in my paid iTunes Match account. Then I created a new version of my local/PC iTunes library with those 25,000 MP3 songs removed, and synchronized it with my iPhone 4s running IOS7 and iTunes Match turned OFF. So far so good.
So now I theoretically have no duplication between my 25,000 song iTunes Match library and my local iTunes library that resides on my PC.
But even though I have the "Show All Music" setting on the phone turned on, the iTunes Match songs don't appear on my iPhone until I also turn the iTunes Match setting on. But as soon as I do that, all of the songs I synched from my local iTunes library on my PC completely disappear- having been completely replaced by my iTunes Match library. If I then turn the iTunes Match setting off again (while still leaving "Show All Music on"), the iTunes Match songs also disappear, leaving my iPhone music library completely empty. Have I misunderstood the meaning of the "Show All Music" setting, or is something malfunctioning?
My question is: How can I make ALL of my songs (both the ones I have previously captured in ITunes Match AND the ones I synched with my PC via iTunes) appear on my iPhone at the same time?  This scenario seemed to be working just fine under IOS6 on the same iPhone.

I had a somewhat similar experience.  When I enabled paid iTunes Match on my iPhone 5, iOS7, all of my locally-stored songs on the iPhone disappeared and remained gone even after I disabled iTunes Match on the iPhone.
A chat session with Apple support revealed that iTunes Match will in fact supersede any synched content on the iPhone.  The suggestion from Apple support was to download on the phone all the previously-synched content via iTunes Match wireless connection.  Of course, that would take hours if not days.  And that crazy workaround won't help you because you want songs other than what you have in the Cloud.
It appears that various members of this forum have not had this same experience.  I'm not sure what's going on here.  Usually with Apple's tight control of hardware and software these anomalies are avoided.
And I didn't really need iTunes Match except I wanted commercial-free iTunes Radio (which I think is great, by the way).  At least for now, commercial-free radio (with a paid subscription) can be achieved only by enabling all of the iTunes Match features.  I'm not sure why Apple requires this bundling unless its part of a general push to a streaming model for everything (more revenue opportunities) as opposed to supporting local storage.

  • TS3988 iCloud will not accept any passwords after upgrading OS. 2 days of trying every password I have ever used, AND changing Apple ID and iTunes ID, still nothing. Can't backup on iCloud anymore.

How can I use iCloud again after upgrading OS to Mountain Lion?  2 days of trying every password I have ever used, AND changing Apple ID and iTunes ID, still nothing. Can't backup on iCloud anymore.

Apple ID's can be used for anything, a single ID can be used for all your accounts (ie iCloud, iTunes, MAS, Apple community etc), ideally this would be the way forward. So far as iTunes goes you need to continue to use the same ID as you have always used or you will lose access to your previous purchases and your iTunes match subscription.
If you are using a second ID for iCloud, you can continue to do so or use the ID you use for iTunes, but if you choose the later you will need to move all your calendar, contact etc data to the account using the ID you use for iTunes.
When (if) you change which account you use you would delete the account on an iOS device and log back in with the correct details, on a mac you would sign out in the iCloud system preference pane.

This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • New Family Sharing and iTunes Match

Hello to all. With the release of iOS8 and the Beta of Yosemite, I have decided to leverage the new family sharing of the iTunes accounts. The set up works fine and I have gotten it working, just wondering how to get iTunes match to work with it. So pre-iOS8 I had an account "A" that all my iTunes purchases and iTunes Match were done with and then my wife and I both have personal accounts "B" and "C" for iCloud. So basically when I set up a device I would use one of our iCloud accounts (B or C) and then A for iTunes. This allowed for us to both see our purchases and also have access to our music via iTunes Match.
Now that I have put in Family Sharing and we now sign in with our own accounts. The purchases of apps work and we can see each others purchases. But when I goto iTunes we are not able to see the music that is associated with our primary account and it is requiring us both to purchase iTunes Match.
So any help on how to get iTunes Match to work across account with Family Sharing.

This has forced my family to go back to using one iTunes account.  It is unfortunate because of all the features family sharing offers.  My wife was excited about not having to compete for bookmarks when we are reading the same book, one little example.
be sure to leave feedback at https://www.apple.com/feedback/.  I also sent some emails to the major apple blogs out there in hopes that they write about it.  I assume the more negative attention the better chance there is a solution, not that this is deal breaking or anything, but still.

  • Using multiple Apple ids for iTunes match

    Hi,
I have one Apple id that I use for downloading music and apps on both iTunes and my ios devices, as well as itunes match. I have another that I use for for icloud. My iTunes match subscription is due to expire and I want to use my icloud apple id as my new iTunes Match apple id. If I made purchases with the prior apple id, and used that id for iTunes Match, and now want to change the iTunes Match apple id to my icloud apple id, will iTunes Match sync my music with the new apple id even though the purchases were made on the older id? Or do I have to use the same apple id for iTunes Match that I used to purchase the music in my iTunes library?
    Hope my question makes sense.
    Thanks,
    Steven

iTunes Match can not be transferred to another Apple ID. It is a associated with the iTunes Store account ID you used to purchase it. You can, however, change your Apple ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40

  • How do I set up a new Apple ID and iTunes account for my daughter, but let her keep the current content of my iTunes account?

How do I set up a new Apple ID and iTunes account for my daughter's MacBook, but let her keep the current content of my iTunes account? (We currently share the same Apple ID and iTunes account). Hope someone can help... Thanks

Discussions on using purchases from multiple AppleIDs in one iTunes library - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19543804
As I mentioned earlier, the main time when this becomes an issue is if you need to do something involving associating a computer with a particular AppleID.  Careful management of your collection should minimize this situation.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 -  In connection with, "When you turn on iTunes Match or Automatic Downloads, or when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID." "Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days." - Additionally instructions for "Removing an associated device or computer from an Apple ID"
So the first account is really "yours" and you are setting her up with her own account?  It helps to know this because if both are "hers" then there isn't an issue with her having full access to both accounts.  If in 10 years she moves 2000 miles away and she is pretty much independent then you may not want her to have full access to your AppleID just so she can authorize a device.

See this specific thread for a discussion on The Beatles mono boxed set: Re: The Beatles in Mono - 48 of 185 mono songs Matched to stereo versions. And this is a list of several threads discussing the boxed set:

As for the Rolling Stones... where did you download the MP3 files from and what bit-rate are they? Many times when the iTM process in iTunes keeps looping back to step 1 it is because it is trying to match some particular tracks. My advice is to add the tracks a few a time; say, one album at a time and let iTM work on those and complete before you add another album. Having the process try to work on dozens or even hundreds of tracks when it is looping like that can be frustrating.
