Apple id and registering new phone

Hi    Please help! Just got a new iPhone 4s and I logged into the apple App Store and managed to install some apps on my usual account. For some reason it's now saying I can't purchase apps in this store (US) and to change to UK store. I've tried going online and HAVE changed the site to UK but the actual 'app' on my phone still shows the US store. I've tried changing it via iTunes too (which it does) but again, on the actual app I can't change it to UK. Also, how do I de-register my apple id on my old phone so that I can give it to someone else?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thank you. This helped with the App section of the Q.
If I want to give my old phone away, how do I de-register my Apple ID account from that?

  • HT201272 I use my Apple id for my new phone And any of my ringtones purchased are in The history

I buy ringtones And now that im use my Apple id for my new phone thers no ringtone in my account

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store. Do you have copies of them in the Tones section of your computer's iTunes library or on a backup of your downloads that you can use to sync them to your phone ?

  • HT203808 I can't change the Apple ID on my new phone after switching from my old phone.

I bought a new iPhone 5S and restored my iTunes info from an old backup.  I now have an old Apple ID in my new phone when I try to use iCloud.  The old Apple ID is defunct so I can't delete the account as I don't have the password.  I backed up my old phone again but when I plugged my new phone into the laptop it automatically backed up.  How can I restore from the lates backup of the old phone which had the new Apple ID info?

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Traded in my iPhone for a different brand of phone. I had no idea that I had to sign out of iMessage before doing this. Now, my old phone is gone and my new phone cannot receive texts from people who have iphones and had me as a contact before. They try to send an iMessage and I have no way to receive an iMessgae now. On some server somwhere my AppleID still tells people they should send me iMessages. What is the solution to this issue? Deleting my AppleID would work to solve this issue, but I cannot ever delete the ID? What can Apple do for this?

If you did not erase your apps and data before getting rid of your old phone, try using Find My Phone and erasing everything remotely. See if this works.

How do I change the apple id on my new phone?

If you want to change your iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. • My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch.  I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a differnt Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and apps that she has now.  How do I do this?

My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch.  I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a different Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and Apps that she has now.  How do I do this?

Make a new Apple ID for her.
Use it on her iPhone 4S for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
Use your ID on her iPhone 4S for iTunes and App Stores.
Sign in with your Apple ID on iTunes Store (on iTunes app of her new computer)
Authorize her new computer with your Apple ID in iTunes (iTunes menu>Store>Authorize this Computer)
Check "Share my Library on my Local Network" in iTunes Preferences in your and her computer
Sign in Home Sharing of her iTunes with your Apple ID.
Copy all the Music she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Copy all the apps she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?
Be careful or ask for help about moving from iCloud account to another one.

I have an old iPhone and my new phone that I'm using currently. The old one isn't being used. Can I make both of the phones receive all of my text messages even though my old one doesn't have service but there is wifi?

You can activate iMessage on the old one so it can get your iMessages. The old phone will NOT recieve SMS/MMS messages sent to your number.

Sounds like your sharing the same apple id.  settings - message -  send&receive - make sure the cell number is the default for both phones.

  • I changed my Apple ID and put new password but itune does not accept ? those and insists using old ID and password

I changed my Apple ID and put new PW. When I go to itunes and want to purchase some App it gives window with
old user id and asks for password. I does not accept new password because it is not associated with this ID. I wanted
to make the same user ID as Apple and also the same password but I do not know how it can be done. The old ID and old password must be on Apple site
and there must ba way to delete them.?

Tap on your id in Settings > Store and log out of the account and then log back in with the updated version so as to 'refresh' the account on it.

ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.

No one here would know Apple's plans. But, if past history holds true, expect a new model iPhone sometime between now & the fall.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes.
