Apple ID Changed but Hasn't!

I received an email from Apple saying I changed my Apple ID from [email protected] to [email protected]  So I logged in and it was not changed.  I am not sure what is happening.  Is Apple switching MSN designations to Outlook, as Microsoft seems to be drifting?

  • HT4865 my apple ID changed but my icloud did not update with the info - how do i get icloud to use my new apple ID

We updated our Apple ID's with our new email and home address etc... with no issues.  But.....icloud won't update and I can't figure out how to edit it.  It shows the old Apple ID info.

We also changed email address, deleted account and added new one in.  I thought everything was working, calenders, photo stream, contracts.  Then when I went to email a photo from the photo library that had been streamed in through old email address, It showed Icloud still sending from old address with no way to change it.  I'm afraid if I delete the account and try to add it in again, I Cloud wont let me; or I will have to chnge everything again (nightmare)  This is on an IMac.

  • Do I lose app data with apple id change, but same ipad?

I understand that I cannot transfer purchases between Apple IDs, but that is NOT my question. My husband uses my first ipad, with which he has made app purchases using my Apple ID. He wants to be able to update through HIS Apple ID, and is willing to re-purchase the app under his ID, on the same ipad, but we need to know if the new download will "find" the original app data if it is not deleted from the ipad?

I don't know if this helps, but you can download apps on your iPad from two different ID's.  My husband has apps from his ID and also from mine.   You just have to change the ID and password in settings that you want to use each time.   If he wants to repurchase through his own ID, then it will be like a brand new app, unless it has the ability to sync with another device.
Or if you upgrade to iOS 8 they have family sharing...but for now iOS 7 works better on older iPads!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I had an apple id but recently got a new one (change of email, loss of debit card) I changed my information in iCloud (deleted the old account) but when I try to update my apps and new software to iOS 7 it is still asking me to give the password to the old account. I can't figure out how to change it.

  • HT4484 I have changed my apple I'd but am having a problem with iCloud and the App Store accepting the changed I'd what do I do?

I changed my apple I'd  but the App Store and iCloud are still using my old ID. What do I do to get them to use my new Id?

An iCloud acount is tied to the Apple ID, if you have created a new Apple ID then you will need to create a new iCloud account.

All content that you bought using the old Apple ID is forever tied to that ID can only be redownloaded, updated and access using that Apple ID. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs.

I guess I will wrap this up. I have abandoned iPhoto and viewing my Photo Streams using it and moved to Adobe products (Bridge + PS). So that's that.

  • I recently changed my Apple ID online, but I can't find a way to change it on my iPod touch. It will let me change the password, but not the ID. What do I do? Do I need to delete the account and start over?

I recently changed my Apple ID online, but I can't find a way to change it on my iPod touch. When I try to purchse an app, the iTouch keeps showing my old ID. However, when I purchase an app online with the new ID, it downloads to my iPod. What do I do to change the ID on the iPod itself?

Have you went to Settings>Store and sign out and sign back in?

  • My Mum and my Dad both have Apple ID's but only my Mum will let me buy something but my iTouch is currently on my Dad's ID. How can I change my iPod's ID to a different Apple ID?

My parents both have Apple ID's but my Dad wont let me buy anything but I'm on his Apple ID on my iTouch and I'm unsure how to switch the Apple ID I'm using on my iTouch to my mum's. Any help? NOTE: The thing I'm trying to buy is not an App, but it's an add-on thing for a game called Snoopy's Fair.

Tracy, see this article:  iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store account
Before you change it, read that article carefully and make sure you really want to do it.
Also, note that if you are using Auto Downloading, the Terms and Conditions state that "You may switch an Associated Device to a different Account only once every 90 days."

    Hello,
My old emails address which I have used as my apple id for 10 years is being made redundant. I have changed the email address to a new gmail one and this is my new apple id. But my iMac has not recognised this. It keeps saying it wants the password for my old email address. I have seen some advice on these forums which suggest signing out of iCloud and then back in again. But when I start doing this it asks me if i want all the photos deleted that have not been downloaded onto the mac.
I have had an iCloud account for quite sometime and I'm afraid of losing everything in my cloud if i sign out and sign in with a new id.
    Is this fear realistic?
I know I can change back to my old email, sign out and then sign in wight he new one...
    Please help!

This did not work for me.  My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook.  I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up.  I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

If you see that pop up you enabled icloud. Whether you want or do not want now to use it irrelevant until you actually disable activation lock.
In order to do that you have to change your apple id back to do that just long enough to sign in and back out. System will ask you to verify, don't.
Just sign in on the prompt you getting and then logout. Once done, change apple id to what you have now and verify. Then decide if you want to
use icloud (who does not want to be able to track their phone if lost or stolen).

  • How can I change my iCloud email account? My apple ID was correctly changed but my @me account and @icloud account addresses need updated to reflect my married name.

My apple ID was correctly changed but my @me account and @icloud account addresses need updated to reflect my married name.

I tried that without any luck. I was hoping I could get Apple to reset it for me or delete the account so I could recreate it or at least tell me what is listed as my birth date, the security question answer.

  • I change my apple Id and password in the Apple's webside but I can change it in my Iphone. How can i change my Icloud ID ? Help!!!

I change my apple Id and password in the Apple's website but I can change it in my Iphone. How can i change my Icloud ID ? Help!!!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
