Apple ID changing contact email

I have 3 Apple ID's
two are for uploading Ibooks and the third is for an Apple developers account.
The ID I want to use has an Email contact address which I can no longer access, how can I change the contact email for that Apple ID as when I enter the password it tells me it's incorrect and if I request a password reset it is sent to the email address which I can no longer access.
Any help?

  • Apple ID change of email question PLEASE HELP

    Hi
I have recently changed my email address from talktalk to yahoo and I have changed my email address everywhere and in all the settings on my iphone 4 and on itunes, apple website etc etc but still when I got to download an app or set up imessaging it has my apple id as the talktalk email address. I've checked apple website and my id is showing as the new one but still it wont work on my phone. I've tried syncing it, turning it off, re-checking all the apps and sections in my phone and still it isnt working. Please if someone has a solution please let me know as its driving me crazy not being able to use my phone correctly.
    Thanks

You cannot change an Apple ID. You can change the email address associated with an Apple ID, but not the ID itself.
For example, I have an Apple ID that I created when Apple offered free email accounts. The ID is [email protected] It was my Apple ID and it was my email address. Apple later changed the plan and wanted me to pay for this email service. I did not see the value so I dropped the Apple email service and got a free email account with Gmail. My Apple ID is still [email protected], but the email address associated with that Apple ID is my Gmail address.

  • Apple ID - Change primary email address

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, advice appreciated.
I have a new AppleID [email protected] and I'm trying to change my Apple ID and Primary Email Address to my own email address.
I'm following the procedure I've read in countless replies both on the apple forum and elsewhere - but it isn't having it. It simply won't save.
I know that one cannot change me.com and mac.com addresses - is it possible to change an icloud.com address
    thanks.

You can't change the iCloud ID, you can add email aliases if you choose (up to 3) they will be in the format [email protected]

  • @me as apple ID/change primary email address

I tried to change my apple ID to my alternative apple ID which is a @me.com address, but I can't sinceit seems to be apple domain address and that can't be primary apple ID.  But I'm trying to use my @me.com account now as my main email address for all my mail, so how can I change it within my apple account and not receive mails from apple anymore on my old account (which is still my primary email address and apple ID) but to have those sent to my @me.com address?
    thanks!
    L

That usually means it's associated with another ID or used somewhere else.

  • Keep getting unrequested Apple ID change request emails?

I keep getting emails from Apple about reseting my Apple ID password. I've not requested these so I'm concerned someone might be trying to hack my account.

This is a serious ongoing issue that needs to be addressed. The legitimate messages about someone having tried to reset my password began several months ago, and increased in frequency in December. I recevied a message about someone in Taiwan having downloaded a game, so I changed my passwords on both accounts (I have two). Then today I was told again that someone tried to reset my password, and exactly one hour later I got a message that it HAD been reset. I am not finger pointing at Apple, but I am using Apple devices exclusively, and the problem concerns my Apple ID.
The account which was reset was an old inactive account, and I changed the password a couple of weeks ago. This problem is very widespread, considering the number of posts in the forums. Only a very small percentage of people who have a problem bother to post it in a forum.
By the way, I do not use social media, so information was not stolen or guessed this way.
I have warned all of my friends who have Iphones.

  • Cannot save Apple ID change...

There are a lot of questions about this issue. I will try to be as detailed as possible. Any solutions would be most appreciated.
I have an ipod touch 4th G and an iphone 5 with ios7. I have one Apple ID. My son has since aquired my ipod touch and signed in with his own completly different Apple ID so the only item associated with MY Apple ID is my iphone 5.
Briefly i have everything set up how i want and i don't want to loose the information; photos on cloud, itunes purchases, calendar items on icloud etc. However my Apple ID was chosen and set up by someone else and signing into that same Apple ID reminds me of them so i want to change my Apple ID (the password has been changed since it was set it up). I do not want to create a new account, do not want to just change contact emails, i want to change my Apple ID. Yes i know i could delete it off my iphone and create a new one but this would give me a nose bleed to have the hassle to reset everything so i'm asking if i can just change the Apple ID. This way a) i dont have to sign in and be reminded of someone and b) if my Apple ID is changed they can never message me on my iphone (yes i already blocked them but as they know what my Apple ID is they can message me using any other Apple ID)
This is what i have done so far...
AppleID.Apple.com-Manage your apple ID-edit Apple ID
When i change this to another email address all the circles go green but it WONT SAVE. I have been able to update any other info but this does not save, if i try to click on any other options it say do i want to save this change and again it still wont save.
The email i am trying to use is NOT connect to any other Apple ID and is not on my account and is not my reset email.
I followed a previous persons idea of:
    • Go to your country's Apple Store website http://store.apple.com/
    • Click on the Account button in the top-right corner
    • Under Account Settings, click on Change your default shipping or billing info
    • Sign in with your usual Apple ID and password
    • The email address listed under Payment Information is the key
    • Click on Edit next to Payment Information and change that email address to your iCloud address
So now my primary email has changed to the email i want. It even now says i should make my primary email and Apple ID the same, i select that email and it WONT SAVE.
I know that i can just get a new Apple ID but i am looking for a solution to this issue. Apple says you can change your Apple ID at any time but i cannot. Please note i was signed out of every connection to the Apple ID whilst doing these as advised by Apple, including deleting the Apple ID off my iphone5.
    Thank you in advance...
    Fin

You can't change the primary email address, the one you created when you opened an iCloud account (or if you migrated from MobileMe the address you log in with) other than by opening a completely new account.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
However you can create three 'email aliases' - these are extra addresses, not accounts, which deliver into the same inbox as the main address.
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
It's actually quite a good idea to give out an alias address rather than the main one, since these can be easily changed should you get spammed.
Also, change the password, that will shut out the other user of the account.

  • How can I change the email address on my account?

My account is tied to an old email address which hasn't existed for about a decade, how do I change this?

    Hello Chris,
This can be done through our Apple ID site.
Apple ID: Changing the email address you use for your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
If your primary email address for your Apple ID does not end in @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com
Note: If your Apple ID and your primary email address are currently the same, changing the primary email address will also change your Apple ID. If your Apple ID and your primary email address are different, changing your primary email address will not change your Apple ID.
Follow these steps to change the primary email address for your Apple ID:
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID," and sign in.
With the Name, ID, and Email Address drawer selected, click Edit next to Apple ID and Primary Email Address.
    Enter your new email address.
Ensure that the email address you enter:
Is one that you regularly use since this will be the primary email for your account
    Is a valid email address
Is not already associated with another Apple ID you have
Is not an address that ends in @mac.com. @me.com, or @icloud.com
You will be asked to verify the email address to confirm that you can access it and that it belongs to you. When you receive the verification email, click the Verify Now link and sign in using your Apple ID and password to complete the confirmation.
    Cheers,
    Allen

  • Apple ID updated to email address, cannot update apps!

I had to updated my apple ID to an email address ( as required) when I updated my OS on my Mac. All my apps were purchased with the previous ID so now I cannot seem to updated them as my previous ID does not exist. What do I do?

    Hey confused82,
Great question. When you update your Apple ID to a new primary email address, you'll want to update the login information across all of your devices. You simply want to sign out of Settings > iTunes & App Store, and back in with the new email address:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
(do the same for all services, including iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, etc across all devices)
After doing so, you'll be able to update applications with your new email address. If you are prompted for the old Apple ID, simple enter your current password.
Please note that this only works for accounts where the email address was updated, not for entirely new accounts.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Deleting an account from a device will not delete the information from the account, if that is what you are asking.

When I try to delete it and replace it with the proper email, it wants my password, which it won't accept because it's an invalid username.

  • How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? Because of the update on apple ID, when I try to delete icloud account I have to put in the password, and it says username or password is invalid (because no longer apple ID).

How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? When I try to delete icloud account (in settings-icloud-delete account) I have to put in the password for the apple ID of my old email address, which is no longer my apple ID, and it says username or password is invalid (I'm guessing because that is no longer my apple ID).

You will wait for the rest of your life. You need to fix it; no one else will. To turn off "Find my iPhone" and its associated Activation Lock you need the Apple ID and password that were used to turn it on. If you know the Apple ID you can contact Apple Account Security and have them reset the password (after you prove you are the rightful owner of that Apple ID). see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.
If you don't know the Apple ID the phone is permanently unusable.
