Apple ID conflict

I tried several times to update iphoto to the latest version but it tells me this is an update only available for a different apple ID. I have only used one apple ID to purchase anything I've ever bought or installed on my Mac so it doesn't make sense.

Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

  • Epson Printer Driver/Apple Update Conflict?

    The Apple Epson Driver 2.15 update (Snow Leopard) was in conflict with the installed Epson  Printer Driver on Epson WF-2530 causing a permanent printing failure. Epson reported that "their staff was working with Apple  Staff" to eliminate the conflict. Epson Technicians warned not to install 2.15 or I would lose printing capability again. Recently an Apple Epson Driver download was announced (2.15.1 @30.9 MB). Does that eliminate the problem? Should it be downloaded?

    If I were in your position I would not rush to download the new update. Presumably it was intended to address the conflict, but if you restored your printer to operating condition and it is now working acceptably, I'd be inclined to let others be the guinea pigs.
    Determining the reason for the update will be difficult or impossible. Apple generally provides a brief, though not necessarily complete, list of problems OS X updates are intended to address, but such information is not generally provided for printer driver updates: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
    You might try an Epson user support site.

  • Apple ID conflict on iPad and iPhone

    My Apple ID on my all three of my devices--iMac, iPad, and iPhone is:  [email protected] .   When I try to update apps on either my iPad or iPhone, in the pop up screen my Apple ID is [email protected]  an old Apple ID that is incorrect.  Because of this, conflict I cannot download or update applications to either my iPad or iPhone.   Any ideas how to correct this?

    Apps downloaded with a particular Apple Id are foerever tied to it, so any updates will always require that Apple ID.
    For purchases, you would need to sign out by going into Settings->Itunes & App Sotres, Apple ID ->Sign Out

    We had to change our apple id because it was older and not an email address. Now one of our devices will not allow us to download from the cloud because it is associated with another id. Well, web could, but we would have that 90 day moratorium on previous purchases & downloads. What should we do?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    iTunes and iCloud are different. If you created a new ID to use with iCloud you don't need to use it for iTunes. Indeed if you had previously made purchases under your old ID from iTunes, you should avoid changing the ID you use.

  • MacBook Pro & Apple TV Conflicting

    So the other day my family bought Apple TV and today we installed it. I was on my computer as we set it up, and now everytime somebody uses the remote, and presses the up or down arrow, my volume changes. It does this even if I disable WiFi and Bluetooth on my computer.
    I run Mountain Lion and I am on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro if it helps at all. I was thinking this was an AirPlay issue, but my computer doesn't support AirPlay.

  • Apple ID conflict and/or too old

    This is a very stupid situation, and by reading some posts in the forum, I've read a similar conversation which, unfortunately did not bring answers for my problem…
    I am an "old" Apple user and my Apple ID has been a username forever. With this Apple ID, I logged into Apple.com and used the account for equipment purchase for years. This Apple ID uses an email. When iTunes was created, I was not much using it, but when i got my iPad 2 years ago, I had to create an iTunes account thinking this account was different than the Apple one.
    There has been an major change of OS on the iPad about over a year ago and when the iPad restarted, it asked again and again for an Apple ID refusing the username. I think I have created an account using the same email as my Apple account (do tou follow ?) but since there was something that could not be completed in the process, I have switched the iPad off and back on and my account was ok appearing to be the Apple account.
    Now, with the new IOS7 upgrade, I can configure the iPad using the username of my Apple account but then the system requests me to upgrade the username thus using the email ot the account as the Apple ID.
    When I try to do that, I get an error message saying my email is already used and that if it's my account, I can reset a forgotten password. The password is not forgotten, I just think I have accounts (Apple and iTunes) which bears the same email but not the same password and which I thought were not linked.
    Oh my, it is so confusing even for me…
    I haven't created an iCloud account yet, but for another member of my family's iPad, and recalling all of this questionning about Apple IDs, accounts, and so, I called Apple support in France and someone told me that Apple account  = iTunes account = iCloud… I did not have a better answer from the people at the Apple Store in Paris.
    I was puzzled with that answer, but do you confirm ?
    With these 2 accounts, how can I know which is which ? Since I use my Apple account (username, mail, pwd) for iTunes, how can I get rid of the other account ?

    The iTunes and Apple uses the same email
    Unfortunately it seems I can't change my Apple ID into an email because it is already used…

  • Apple ID Conflict/Error MAC OS 10.8.2

    Hi -
    The following Apple ID problem is occuring on my machines:
    1. in system preferences I have altered my Apple ID to the correct ID I use for everything. See image:
    2. MAC OS 10.8.2 doesn't change the ID on any of the applications/systems that use the ID:
    Notice how MAC OS is displaying the INCORRECT Apple ID each time...
    Anyone know why?

    I have had an issue very similar. I changed the email of my Apple ID and  the change went smoothly for the most part and my iMac, MacBookPro and iPhone 5 were finally syncing  correctly for the most part through iCloud. But on the iMac, Address Book kept requiring the password for my  Apple ID with the previous email, which of course was no longer current.
    After trying various ideas (such as deleting the previous ID and password from the Keychain access) I finally solved this issue by removing the entire Address Book file out of Library/Application Support and relaunching Address Book. It was empty of course, but it immediately recreates the required files in Application Support. I was then able to sync the "new" Address Book in iCloud via the new version of my Apple ID. (This of course assumes that you have all your contacts on iCloud beforehand.)
    Things work fine now but I still think the solution I had to adopt was messy, as indeed was the fact that on my IPhone, I had to completely delete my iCloud account and reopen it with the new email, whereas I expected that since the account wasn't a different one, the change would be automatically and smoothly transmitted.
    Plus the fact that to update some apps purchased previously (e.g. Keynote), I had to trash them, and redownload them with the changed Apple ID. You do this for free, but again, it's a messy proces.
    I wasn't able to find clear instructions on this anywhere in the info pages about iCloud.
    Anyway, to stop your Mac displaying an incorrect ID, you have to sign out of the account, and then sign back in with the correct ID.
    You are invited to say whether you want to save your contacts or whatever to your computer or not. Note that if you do save to your Mac, and then let iCloud combine the data when you relaunch, you can end up with a series of doubles…

  • Apple account conflict on iPad.

    My iPad is asking for a password (before updating an app) for an account which is not signed in as the recognised apple account for my iPad. Can anyone suggest why this has happened and how it could be resolved?

    If it's what @Diavonex thinks it is, then your going to have to find out the other Apple ID and then go to that Apple ID and change the Password by one charater and go back to iTunes and enter the ID with the updated password and update the app.
    The other way of doing it is deleting the app and repurchase it on your Apple ID.

    When i try & update aps my sons apple id comes up. The id on the phone-settings-store is correct? How do I remove his id? If I buy an ap I get my id, it is only when I have to update aps.

    Its cause that app got to your library from your son purchasing it. So when he was signed into the apple iTunes store, he bought it. Your phone synced it over, and now to update it, it needs to be authorized on your phone using his password hence why it brings up his aplpe ID email.

  • Apple Give Conflicting Email?

    I've created my first Podcast.. a group of episodes that are uploaded and hosted on Blip.TV. This has iTunes already preconfigured to upload the podcasts (videos) directly to iTunes.. its very simple and there are no mistakes here I'm sure.
    The problem: I upload the videos with the correct settings (very very simple in Blip.TV) but i get an email from Apple saying there is a problem adding the Podcast. HOWEVER, when I test the feed in the Advanced tab of iTunes (as Apples suggest in ther FAQ's) the feed is fine and I can download the casts fine!
    So.. Is there a problem or not? Or could it be that I've tried uploading the same Podcasts (changing things like text and Podcast logo photo) a few times?
    There seems to be NO documentation on this particular problem whatsoever on the Apple Site.

    I don't get it! How come Im able to download my podcasts from iTunes and then the Feed-Validator says its an invalid feed?! FV must be wrong?!
    However, Im still getting those emails from iTunes saying:

    An error was encountered while trying to add your feed, [ http://jay1967.blip.tv/rss/itunes/. ].

  • Old/new apple ID conflicts

    I need help.  I created a new apple ID after my iPad was stolen.  It works when I log in to itunes.  HOWEVER, when I attempt to download app updates, the OLD ID displays (it cannot be modified) and when I enter the password, I get error msg that it is invalid.  How do I remove the apple ID associated with the apps when they were initially downloaded.   Can I somehow merge the OLD with my current?

    I lost my password and tried to reset this through the proper channels (e-mail verification).
    This did not work (twice).
    Then I tried the security question route. My birthday did not match!
    So, basically my ID (that is linked to a lot of music and apps) did not work at all, or - as I immediately thought - was hijacked. My credit card company did not have strange transactions so I decided to...try to make the exact same ID. More as a check ...it should be blocked because it already exists...that was a mistake... it made the  same ID... but - obviously - without the history. So now i am pretty much *******
    Any help?

  • Using apple keyboard w/PC XP issues

    Hi all,
    I'm running a DELL laptop (yes I know, first mistake)....and I have bought a Apple keyboard w/numeric pad. The problem I'm having is when I open up my browser where it be Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, the bottom of the screen comes up and starts flashing. It is basically the HTML of the site and sometimes shows it. I can't figure out what is causing the conflict. Right now, there is no conflict and it is working perfectly. Rebooting doesn't solve the problem either. It does it when it wants to and does it 90% of the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    You did not mention another keyboard in your previous post and we can't read you mind.
    The keyboard has nothing to do with the way a webpage is displayed so I still fail to see how it's the Apple keyboard.  Like I said, run the computer for several days without the Apple keyboard and if the issue appears, you will have definitive proof that it's not the Apple keyboard.  But if it does NOT appear, that does NOT mean that it must be the Apple keyboard's fault.  (You can't prove a negative.  Google that if you dont' know what that means.)
    I don't see our conversation going in a way that you'll like after this so I'll stop here (unless someone posts areasonable and logical possibility and solution that I can contribute to.)  Otherwise, luck be with thee!

  • Can apple track a lost ipod?

    I recently lost my ipod nano ;(

    Does anyone know why apple and gadget manufacturers that have unique serial numbers for their devices, cannot tract these devices? I have lost several apple products, and I can't understand why this is difficult to do.
    I registered my ipod. It got stolen. For the person to use the ipod, they have to connect it and register it. If I have reported the ipod as stolen to apple, shouldn't it be as easy as just reporting the information about the perpetrator once they reconnect the product? There's gotta be other reason why apple does not help the consumers with this problem...I think this is my last apple product as they attract too many thieves and apple seem conflicted in helping us find it. I guess it's good business to lose an expensive gadget and then go buy another one.

  • Can't download music - seems to be an iTunes Match problem

    I have iTunes Match activated, which is working fine on my iPad and iPhone.  However I cannot download purchased music onto the iMac. 
    In my household there is a shared iMac and each user has a different login & password.  Only I know my login password.  I have been using iTunes successfully on it for years, and have been using iTunes successfully for about 6 months now.  Auto-download has been disabled for several months now because I don't want everything downloaded automatically.  All has been fine until about a fortnight ago when the iMac stopped downloading newly purchased music whenever I clicked the little iCloud icon.  This is for music that I have successfully purchased and downloaded on my iPhone whilst at work, and now want to listen to at home.  Whenever I click the iCloud icon to download the new song I get an error message telling me that the computer is already associated with an Apple ID, and I have to wait 54 days etc to sign in with a new Apple ID.  However I'm certain no other Apple ID has been used with my account - when I go to the Store menu it is showing my current and correct Apple ID. 
    The most telling proof that my Apple ID is correct on both iMac and iPhone (and iPad as well) is that when I plug the iPhone into the iMac, the new music syncs across EXACTLY as it should - and it can then be played without problems.  Both the phone and the computer are correctly logged in to the same Apple ID, which is the same Apple ID that I use for iTunes Match.  Also when I click Store -> Update iTunes Match there appears to be no Apple ID conflict.
    Obviously this is an iTunes Match problem which I cannot resolve, can someone please provide assistance / advice.
    (iPhone 4 with iOS 6, iMac mid 2010 with Mountain Lion 10.8.2, single Apple ID for iTunes Store, iTunes Match and iCloud).

  • Multiple speakers gone after updating to iTunes 10.1

    I received a new iPod Touch the other day and after being forced to update to iTunes 10.1 in order to use it, all of my satellite speakers -- hooked up to AirPort Express units -- disappeared.
    In order to get them back working again, I had to update my whole system to 10.6.5, unplug all of my AirPort Express stations and reboot them all, and then had to turn Home Sharing on in order to get the Remote app working again on my older iPod touch.
    My question is this: why was all of this necessary, Apple? When you force someone to use a certain version of your product in order to connect a device to your computer, you should be making **** sure it doesn't break all of the settings that already work.
    Over the past few years, it seems Apple has really being going backwards with their usability...

    You and me both! I stopped the Bonjour service and remote speakers returned per the post below. Hmm. I have Bonjour for Windows installed on all my machines except for a laptop running Vista RC1. That was the only one that the remote speakers didn't dissapear from. Apple software conflicting w/ Apple software? Say it ain't so!
