Apple ID for your business

Hi,
I am trying to create a set of Apple IDs for my employer, who would like to bring iPads into the school. The problem I am always having is that everytime i fill in the registration form for the Apple ID, I get a message saying 'an unknown error has occured!' which happens everytime. I am assuming that using internal email address will work as outlook/hotmail and gmail etc do.
Any ideas and opinions will be grately appreciated :-)
Thanks

The email address you use as an Apple ID needs to be verified and must be available to the outside world. If by 'internal email address' you mean one which is only available to the local network this won't work.

You can create an id without accredit card that might be what you want.  Ten use that ID for your child's iMessage and iCloud and use your ID for iTunes and App Store on both phones. That way you can control what is purchased.  I would set up restrictions on the kid's phone with a pun that you only know and durn off in app purchases

Is there an apple calendar for your computer desktop that syncs with your IPhone, similar to Palm's calendar?
    Thanks

No - not for a Windows PC but there are no iPhone applications available to be added to a computer - Mac or PC regardless.
The iPhone syncs with select applications - such as iCal for calendar events on a Mac and with Outlook on a Windows PC.

The only real choice is FileMaker Pro unless you are a programmer. There are other databases but they are either very light weight or something a programmer would be required to set up.

  • Is it legal to use .icloud email address for your business?

    Just curious about something..
We have just a small organization and want to utilize the .icloud email addresses and icloud as well..
Are there any legal stipulations for businesses to use Apple's .icloud email addresses?

    Thanks Julian for your input.
The organization is basically a daycare/kindergarten with a staff of about 5. We don't really have a need for a business online image persay, well not like a fortune 500 company or others would need..
I basically had entertained the idea for shareable calendars on icloud would be a huge asset and since we are migrating to more apple products such as ipads and Macs in the classroom, it would be nice to streamline things with icloud..
So it's not so important to 'show' our email address as it is than to just be able to utilize them. However our day to day clients would use the new icloud email addresses, hence why I was asking if it was legal.
But regardless, your points are right and I can see alot of folks argue against such free email vs an isp hosted email accounts..

  • HT5622 What steps  do you have to take to change your apple id for  your iCloud  account

I have change my apple Id account from a aol email account to a gmail account . I am unable to change my apple I'd for iCloud to my new apple id
When the apple id window opens asking you for your password I enter the password for the old apple I'd user name it says I put the incorrect password
So I even try to put the new password I created for my new apple id and it doesn't recognize that password either

I also leave apps open that I use regularly as this saves battery and processing power by not having to keep opening and closing them.
Many people find that hard to understand, but from what I've read it's quite true. Yep, it's true. Leaving apps open does use less battery than constantly closing and re-opening them (certainly true on iOS). This is because, as MI5 explained, the phone doesn't have to use battery and processing power to continually re-open them. iOS 'pauses' each app when you come out of it, so that it's not using any power. The only time that an app will use power in the background is if you have background usage enabled. The app would then use power whether it has been closed or not. Examples of this would be apps such as Facebook or Twitter where the phone is continually checking for notifications. Battery usage is absolutely minimal though

  • Changing your apple id for your icloud on your iphone

I bought my iphone about 6 months ago and I used my family's apple id for icloud but now I am going to college and think it is a good time to have my own apple id especially because i just bought a new computer and need to use an apple id for that too. I set up a new apple id on my computer and just need to change the apple id on my icloud on my phone. I was wondering if I change my apple id on my icloud on my phone will all my contacts and stuff be erased?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Are your contacts currently just on your phone or part of someone else's iCloud account. Have you enabled iCloud contact syncing under your iCloud account on your computer yet.

  • I just bought a second iPhone for my business... I used my existing apple account and now all my texts are coming to both phones.. How do I get a secondary apple ID and change it on my business phone?

I used my existing apple ID when I purchased a second iPhone for my business.. Now all my texts are coming to both phones.. Is there a way to create a new apple account for my business phone and if so.. How do I delete one and add another?

Yes, you can have two separate Apple IDs, and it's pretty easy to set this up. Go into Settings > iTunes & App Store on your business phone. You should see your current Apple ID. Tap on it, then tap on sign out. You can then create a new Apple ID, using a different email address and password than those associated with the Apple ID on your other phone. Log back in using this new information, and you shouldn't get the texts that come to your other phone.
    Hope this helped!

  • Siri giving my cell number for my business

I own a business and some of my new customers have been calling me on my cell phone. My cell phone number is not on my business web site. When I asked them how they got my cell number, they responded siri gave it to me. They said they used siri to do a search for my business and my cell number is the number it gave. How could this happen if my cell number is not listed and is not on my business web site? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

All Siri does is query things like Yelp, or search engines like Google to get her results... Something out there has your cell number listed for your business. Apple doesn't control that.

  • Creating a new apple id for my wife

I currently have one Apple ID and run iTunes on a Windows 7 PC. This is synced to 2 iPhones, 2 iPads and 2 iPods as well as 2 Apple TV's. All the Apps purchased, updated and shared between all the devices are controlled using iTunes depending on whose iphone etc is connected.
This has worked quite successfully till now but if we use imessage on the phones it gets very confusing and for that reason I would like to set up a new Apple ID for my wifes iPhone and iPad. What I don't understand is the implications of this with regard to all the previously purchased Apps. Will she loose access to these when I sign in on iTunes to her new Apple ID. Are there any other issues I should be aware off before going down this route. Will all my music and films still be available for her to load on her iPhone and iPad ? Any advice and help much appreciated.

    Hello Primer Driver,
Thanks for the question, and what a great question it is.
You are absolutely right, there are some tweaks we will want to make to continue the configuration you have right now. My recommendation? Create a new Apple ID for your Wife, but only use this Apple ID for iMessage/FaceTime.
There are four different accounts you can be signed into on an iOS device: iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and iTunes and App Stores. Theoretically, you could be signed into four separate accounts for each of these. For your situation, your Wife would only sign into iMessage and FaceTime with her account, and continue to use the family account for iTunes and App Stores.

  • I already have a apple ID for my iphone5. And recently I have purchased a new mac book pro.

I already have a apple ID for my iphone5. And recently I have purchased a new mac book pro.
    My questions are that
1: Should I use a existing apple ID or create a new one?
2: If using my existing apple ID, then will there be any issue at later stages?
3: How will I be able to share the data between my existing iphone5 & new mac book?
4: Or will it be better to create a new apple ID for my newly purchase mac book pro?
    Please suggest?

Use the existing Apple ID, so you can sync your data between your phone and your Mac.
    No.
iCloud does the job for you. Both your iPhone and your Mac should have asked you to enable it during their first setup. See -> http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
You do not have to create a new Apple ID for your MacBook Pro. If you do that, you may have problems syncing your purchases.
