Apple ID Help!

Okay, this is a weird situation. I downloaded the Twitter App from the Mac App Store. Everything was fine and it said there was an update available. When I went to update the application someone else's email was in the log in box. No one has borrowed my computer and it hasn't even left my house, where out internet network is pretty secure. So, I tried just deleting the wrong email and putting in mine and my password. It would not update. I contacted Apple support and they said, try deleting the Twitter Application. So i did; including all of the perefrence files. The App Store still said there is an update available for the Twitter app. It shouldn't show up, the application does not exist on my computer. So, thinking I missed something. I backed up the essentials and wiped the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system. Everything is up to date with software updates. I even double checked my Apple ID information and changed the password, in case it was compromised somehow. I never gave out any of the information about my Apple ID to any weird emails or anything. But after the hard drive wipe and reinstallation. The Mac App Store is still saying there is an update available. This should not be possible because there is no way the application is still on my computer. I know that its still showing up in the App Store, as a perviously purchased item. But when I go to install the Twitter Application again it says, We coult not complete the request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again (4). And then another error box shows, but this time its blank and all it says is unknown error.
I checked my Twitter account, everything is fine there. My Twitter App works just fine for my iPhone.
I am at a loss on what to do next. I sent in another email to Apple Support, with no reply. Is there some way for me or Apple to delete a perviously purchased application, like the Twitter App, and just have me redownload it. So this time it says under my name? Even if I sign out from the App Store, the number indicating an update is still there, telling me to update with someone else's email. Is there something wrong with my Apple ID?

If you do a search of this forum about the Twitter app, which should always be your first step before posting, you will see many folks have this issue with a Twitter app. The bottom line is a very frank question, do you have any pirated software on your Mac? Did you try to cut corners and download the FaceTime app from somewhere for free instead of buying it from the MAS?
That is why many folks are having this issue, they have pirated software that oringinally came from the Mac App Store. The quickest way to resolve the issue is to Trash any pirated apps that may have come from someone else's MAS account.
If this is not the case for you then there currently is not much anyone can do to help.
