Apple ID / iCloud - Cannot verify email address , maybe used in a different account?
Hi all!
Until last week I was having a Family Account on MobileMe.
Now that I have transferred all sub accounts to iCloud I moved the main account, too.
All sub accounts are working fine and the can use all services like Find my Friends.
Now after having moved the main account all worked fine for that account except one service.
When trying to use the Find my friends I get a message
"Cannot connect to Find my Friends - Verify your Apple ID at https://appleid.apple.com to use Find my Friends"
When opening that URL on my mac and going to "Manage your account" and then clicikng on "Verify now"
"A verification email has been sent"
Doing the same from the dialogue on my iPhone I get "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID"
Having worked though a lot of discussions here I think the issue is with an old apple id that I might forgot about having my new one as an alternative address verified.
The problem is now that I don't have access to this old account , so I cannot remove it.
I should mention that I did not get a single mail for verification send to that address , even though having asked for it on my mac now several times.
What I tried so far
- Connected to all apple id accounts I have access to and assured that the eMail is not used and verifed there.
- Tried the "Verify now" several times
- Supplied a different alternative address to that account and succesfully veriefied it. Still I cannot verify the primary one and cannot use Find my Friends
- Updated the password to meet new complexity rules, it does now include lower,capital letters, numbers and is at least a characters long
That leaves me know with two questions:
1 - How can it be, that opening the same page and doing the same thing, results in two different messages on my Mac and my iPhone?
2 - How can I arrange, that from this old account the alternative address is removed so that I can verify it agains the new one?

Note: This account is my main private eMail so dumping it and creatign a new iCloud account is not an option.
I had a similar problem. I had to call Apple support via phone and ask what apple ids my email was associated with. He was able to give me the email server it was associated with (ex: yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc) and that sparked off the memory I needed to recall that ancient and unused apple id. Then I had to recover the password, log in to that old id and change the primary email address.
As for no verification email sent, there is a major lag between changing your settings and them actually changing in Apple's system. I don't know why this is. I couldn't delete a secondary email no matter what I tried. Then 4 hours later, it finally let me do it.

Cannot verify email address on FaceTime
I cannot verify my email address on FaceTime. There isn't anything wrong with my network connection or firewall because my family members can log into their FaceTime on their own MacBooks with no problem. So I created a new Apple ID with a different email address, and voila! it works on FaceTime. What's wrong with my initial Apple ID? It's the one I created when I first got my MacBook, and I've been using it to download apps from App Store without any problems ever since. Why can't it be verified on FaceTime?

Ii have had a new 5th generation iPod as my old 4 gave up the ghost. However I cannot verify my email address on the iPod for my FaceTime and iMessage. HT204407 Your Apple ID needs a Verified Email
Though I have received invitations, and accepted them successfully, I'm suddenly getting a dialog box that says "Your Apple ID Needs a Verified Email Address". Well, I checked my account and all are verified. It's only Find My Friends that is throwing this error so far. Anyway, I can't get rid of this dialog.
I had the same problem. I managed to fix it by selecting the "Me" tab, then the "Account" button in the toolbar and then in the "Notifications" group I selected an email address for the "Send As" item. Not sure how this got reset, but I was able to accept and request an invitation afterwards.

I recently updated my primary email address associated with my Apple ID account.
Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
ThanksDid you change the email for the Apple ID or did you create a new Apple ID? A new Apple ID cannot be used with content that was bought using a different Apple ID.

What does "Your Apple ID Needs a Verified Email" mean?
For the first time *ever* when I tried to accept a Find My Friends invitation, I got a dialog box that said: "Your Apple ID Needs a Verified Email Address. To continue using Find My Friends add and verify and email address http://appleid.apple.com"
Well, I have 4 verified emails! This dialog just won't go away.

Oops, other treads indicate this is a bug of some kind related to my @mac account. I thought Apple products were easy to use.I had the same problem. I did not do my research before changing my Apple ID from an outdated email address to a current one. I just changed and verified and though I was all set. WRONG! Now I cannot sign in to iCloud because it will not let me enter the new Apple ID. I read the 10/30/13 randers4 post to just change your Apple ID back then sign in and change it to the new email address again and then you can sign in, but I cannot change back to the prior email address Apple ID because that is no longer an active email account (or at least not mine). Any thoughts on how to get signed into iCloud when it does not allow me to type in the new Apple ID and the old Apple ID no longer exists.
I see that many people have asked, but no one has come up with a solution that I found.
Thanks for any help!This did not work for me. My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook. I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up. I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

I can not open my ipad mini, a message says " cannot back up. This ipad can not back up to icloud without a verified email address. later , settings but neither of the two when clicked can't be opened.pls advise on what to do?
Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

If your iPad is unresponsive, reset it by holding the power and home buttons until you see the Apple logo, then release.

My original apple id is not an email address .
I bought iCloud memory via that same account no problem.
When setting up iCloud on iPad you cannot have a primary iCloud account unless it has an email address .
Made new account as per instruction ie [email protected] works fine
BUT as I want to utilise the money spent on the additional memory it would be great to use the initial account set up as my primary HOWEVER as far as I have tried the initial apple ID CANNOT be changed.
