Apple ID is disabled message......?

When I am trying to download updates to apps on my iPhone and iPad I am getting a message that says my Apple ID is disabled. I have followed the instructions and changed my password, but the message is still coming up and I am unable to use my Apple ID for updates, downloads, and iTunes purchases. How can I fix this problem?  Thanks so much!

Try logging into My Apple ID and verifying your account info is correct.
If that doesn't do it, this Apple article should help ya out -> Apple ID: "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" alert appears

I have redone my password numerous times, also the securty questions, but still get this message when i try to download apps....i am not getting the message with your apple id is disabled for security reasons...this is really frustrating....

Did you ever find a solution?  I've been dealing with this for a week now.  I have a new Apple ID and a new password, but the ID is another (active) e-mail address and I can't get my Apple mail, can't sign in to iCloud, iTunes, into anything on my iPhone, or retreive anything from my old account.  My old account ID comes up as being a valid account - they just tell me the password is wrong.  After more than 20 years with the same ID and password, I certainly wasn't the one who got it wrong.  So many people in the last few days were having problems with iCloud, I was hoping Apple would recognize that there was a problem and fix something that might help, but I don't think that is going to happen.

  • HT5625 can not purchase from apps store. message states - Apple ID is disabled.

Can not purchase from Apps Store. Continue to get message stating that Apple ID is disabled after I select install. I have change my Itune account pass word and updated all information.

After resetting your password you might then need to log out of your account on your iPod by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • When I go to purchase in store I get a message that my apple ID is disabled. What do I do?

When I go to purchase in store I get a message that my apple ID is disabled. What do I do?

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your iPad then try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it.
For the email accounts, if you mean when you select the account on the right-hand side of Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars then that's just a button that allows you to remove the email account from the iPad if you don't want it on it anymore, it's not saying that you have to delete it. Or are you seeing it somewhere else ?

  • Help! After adding Apple ID to laptop messages/ichat but then disabling, I cannot receive texts on phone from the only person whose text went to my laptop before disabling apple ID

After I updated to Mavericks on my macbook pro, I added my Apple ID on the messages/ichat. After receiving one text on laptop, I decided I didn't like havinng text messages show up there and not my iphone, so I disabled the Apple ID account on the ichat/messages.  Only now, I can't get texts on my iphone from same person whose text went to my laptop before disabling the account on ichat. Any ideas?

Hi, just wondering if you ever fixed your issue? I'm having the same issue right now and after some google searches yours is the closest to my issue (other threads are mostly about people who have changed phones)
I've never had iMessage turned on for my phone, but ever since I updated my laptop to mavericks, people with iphones have sent me messages and it's become the imessage blue. I am not receiving them on my phone (since I don't have imessage turned on). So I realised that the iMessage was going to my computer instead, even though the computer was turned off. I disabled the account on the computer (pretty much as Ralph Johns (UK) instructed above) and then signed out to make sure. However a lot of people who are texting me still find that they are sending me imessages which I am not receiving.
I also changed my apple password. That seemed to work for a day, then the auto imessage started again.
I've checked icloud and logged into my apple ID to check that no other devices are registered on for imessage. I've also called apple support and they confirmed that my imessage was not registered at all. Their solution was to tell all my friends who have iphones to make sure some settings were correct on their phone, and to delete our conversation thread and start again with sms. Which, in my opinion, is a bit of a sloppy solution.
After some more google searches I found someone say the solution was to send a text to 48369 with the word STOP. And apparently that deregisters your imessage number. But I think that must be an american number as I sent a text and had an unsuccesful delivery tag (I'm based in Australia). And anyway, if apple support said that my number isn't registered to imessage, i shouldn't need to de-register again right?
Any insight on what is actually happening would be great! Thanks.

  • Trying to upgrade to osx mavericks, but keep getting message that apple ID is disabled?

Hi, When I try to download my free upgrade to osx Mavericks, I get a message that "We could not complete your request. there was an error in the App store. Please try again later. (100)". When I click the OK on that message, I get another message that my "apple ID is disabled, and it points me to the itunes support URL." I can't tell you how many times I have resubmitted a new iTunes password.
Is this happening to others? What should I do?
    Appreciate your help.

Sometimes they can disable it due to perceived fraudulent activity. You may need to call AppleCare to determine if that is the case.

Did you follow all of the instructions i.e. since resetting your password have you also logged out of your account on your device by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then logged back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it ?

    Mehrak,
Messages like that are almost always phishing, and are not actually from Apple.  Changing password does not affect it, since they can still send you the same email.
    See this document:

Does it fit the description, or is it something else?
