Apple ID keeps getting reset

As I was out, I recieved an email saying that my password for my Apple ID has been reset "sucessfully". This means that someone would have had to have known my security questions, or my email passwords.
It was basically a back and forth change until I accessed my account to change the email it was linked to, and the security questions.
However, now it was reset AGAIN and I was trying to reset my password through email, it didn't send an email to any of my accounts. And when I try to reset it by security questions, it is now saying my birthdate is incorrect.
I'm really stuck and I don't know what to do. I don't give anyone my passwords and there's no reason why someone needs to hack into my Apple ID. It seems like it's a problem on Apple's end but I'm not too sure. Has this happened to anyone and what can I do next?

You probably are mixing up your password with passwords from other accounts. If i were you i would write down your password somewhere easy to acess and make it very hard to guess if you ever reset it.

That's fine. I just didn't understand, but suspected that's what you meant.
You should contact Apple about this. Go to this website, find your country, and call Apple and ask to speak to Account Security about this.

  • I am trying to rent a movie on my Apple tv keep getting the message - verification required before you can make purchases you must go to the itunes store on your computer and verify your payment information

    Hi  I am Del
I am trying to rent a movie on my Apple tv keep getting the message - verification required before you can make purchases you must go to the itunes store on your computer and verify your payment information
    Thanks

Have you paired your Apple Tv with your iTunes account?  That's how rentals and purchases are billed.  If, however, you have already done that it is possible that there is a glitch in the system.  I've had that happen occasionally and it usually goes away if I reset Apple Tv.  On one occasion that I didn't work so I had to go to iTunes and deauthorize and then authorize this computer.  Also, check to see if your Home Sharing is on (under File in iTunes).  Hope that helps.

Nearly every day now my Apple ID password gets reset. I had some problems with my security questions being changed so had to ring up Apple to sort it. I don't have another email which I'm guessing will stop this? I'm running out of passwords to have.

  • HT201413 My apple ID keeps getting disabled what can I do?

My apple ID keeps getting disabled. When I try to update an app what to do

What do the emails say ? They are unlikely to be from Apple (they don't send emails account disabled accounts or asking you to confirm your id), they are likely to be phishing emails to try and get your account id and payment details - emails from Apple tend to be personalised (not 'dear customer', 'hello', 'dear email address' or similar), and they are written in proper English.
If you've clicked on the links in them and filled in your details then you should change your account's password as a precaution e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or by logging into it via http://appleid.apple.com . And contact your card issuer if you entered your card's details

  • When using working apple ID keep getting message cookies are disabled but they are enabled for visited and also tried always

I gave an ipod touch 4 to my youngest son for his birthday.
Installed iTunes and updated firmware to 4.3.5 (8L1); all OK
Created Apple ID and can logon to this using computer.
When using the working apple ID on the iPod however, keep getting message cookies are disabled. This after it directs to review the new accoutn info.
But cookies are enabled for 'visted'. Also tried 'always'
    Also tried hard reset.
Spent a whole day trying to get an apple dev working; still can't use any app.
Needless to say my son is very disappinted (and so am I) :-(
Is there any way to get this working, or should I simply ask for a refund?

Head to Settings -> Safari and tap Clear History, Clear Cookies, and Clear Cache and see if that does any good.
What happens when you rewiew the account info?  Do you verify the provided information?

  • Password keeps getting reset.

    Hi there.
I've had my password been reset about 20 times in the last few months, not by me. I keep getting emails saying that my password has been reset without my consent. I've changed the password back every single time, each time making it increasingly obscure. I've also changed all my security questions to almost impossible to guess answers even by my close family.
I'm now starting to believe that somebody is either hacking my account or my computer has contracted some sort of virus.
This issue is making me absolutely livid. It's a real nuisance.
    Any suggestions very welcome.
    Charlie.

I'm assuming that you're talking about your Apple ID password? Most likely, these e-mails either represent a phishing attempt, in which case there's nothing to be done but send them to your junk mail folder, or someone is repeatedly trying to reset your account password. To rule out the latter, enable two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, which will prevent any password reset attempts without providing some additional authentication.

  • My apple password keeps being reset, but not by me

My i tunes password keeps being reset, but not by me,  please help

If you have never shared your password with anyone then your account was hacked. NOT your iPhone, your Apple ID. If you use the same password for other accounts any of them could have been hacked, and your password obtained from that other account. If your password was simple it could have been hacked by brute force. If it is a word found in any dictionary especially. Or if there is anything personally identifiable about it (nickname, pets name, address, name of someone you know).
The really important thing is to get it resolved QUICKLY with Apple Security, and to change all passwords that might have been stored in an iCloud backup of your phone.

  • Apple id keeps on resetting

    Hello,
My apple id keeps on being disabled, and i have to issue new password everytime. 3-4 times this months. I think this may due to the facts that i travel a lot, being in differents countries.
Is there a way to prevent it?
    Thanks

You enter the credentials that were used to activate Find my iPhone before you reset it. That's called Find My iPhone Activation Lock.
    It's an anti-theft feature.

  • Apple ID keep getting blocked

    Hello
Anyone have any idea what's going on these days with my Apple ID?
I sometimes download apps / updates from my iPhone, and sometimes from Itunes, but every 2-3 weeks my Apple ID will get blocked and I have to go thru the trouble to reset bla bla bla bla and it has been like this for many months already.  Getting really fed up.

Password resets being demanded for an Apple ID or MobileMe login (the same thing) can be caused, particularly for people with simple IDs (e.g. first [email protected]), by idiots who think they own the address trying to log in several times and triggering a security lockout.
Quite a number of people have complained about this exact problem see:
    http://tinyurl.com/2cmw7ko
    http://tinyurl.com/2bqohdq
http://tinyurl.com/2aqfn29 (shortened URLs to threads in this forum).
It would appear that the requirement to use a new password each time is a new feature, hence the sudden upsurge of problems - and this causes a lot of annoyance because affected users then have to reset the password on every computer and device they own.
The only way forward is for everyone who has this problem to make as much fuss as possible until enough pressure builds up for Apple to do something - though exactly what is debatable.
The real problem is faulty initial design - it's a serious flaw that the login user name is the same as the account name which appears in web pages and emails: this means that anyone can find it out, and anyone can lock you out of your account, either inadvertantly or maliciously. If the login was different - so you would have to have an account name, a user login, and a password - the problem wouldn't arise: but unfortunately this would require a massive rewrite of the software and isn't likely to happen.
Up to now people in this situation have been able simply to reset to the same password - enough of a pain in itself if some fool somewhere thinks he owns your email address. It may be that the recent upheaval has been triggered by the spate of fraudulent purchases in iTunes.

  • TS1424 When trying to purchase and subsequently play programs on Apple TV keep getting message: "Apple TV unable to connect to server at this time. Please try again later." Able to play previews and trailers on Apple TV and able to play programs on Netfli

Last night I was watching programs on Apple TV with only one problem: I was not able to purchase the entire season of "Homeland" but could purchase and watch individual episodes. Today I am able to watch only previews and trailers from iTunes. After attempting to purchase a program I keep getting the message: "Apple TV is. Unable to connect to the server at this time. Please try again later." I am able to watch programs on Hulu, Netflix, etc. without problems.
    Any suggestions?

I have a similar problem. After a recent update I cannot access the iTunes Store to resubscribe to Hulu. "Cannot access iTunes Store at this time." Dunno what to do.

  • "Including when automatically checking" keeps getting reset

I am using MobileMe including a MacBook Pro and iMac. Set up my work email account as POP3 on both systems. I keep unchecking "Including when automatically checking for new mail" because I don't always want to be downloading these for a few reasons. However, the box keeps getting re-checked on both systems! how do I prevent this? Also have this on iphone but the account is not active.

I think the problem might arise from the process of retrieving mail. I've gone into Mail, Preferences, General and have set retrieval to Manual rather than every minute. I'll also avoid using the 'Get Mail' button, as I think this is part of the problem - I think it might cause the 'Include when automatically checking for new mail' box to be checked.
So, given that the MobileMe mail account pushes new email to my computers instantly, I'm still getting my mail quickly, with no routine checking.
I'll report back if this keeps working.

  • My apple id keeps getting disabled for security reasons. This has happened at least several times recently, almost every time I go to install a new app.I know how to reset it but how do I keep this from happening? how to

    why is this happening?

Thanks. So multiple incorrect attempts to enter a password is the likely cause of this. Since I didn't make multiple incorrect attempts this suggests that someone else did, someone trying to hack into my account? And since this has happened many times I suppose someone is repeatedly trying to do this? Time to change to a very strong password then I suppose, unless you have any other ideas.
