Apple ID on New IPad

I bought my wife an iPad. When we started to set it up we found that she forgot her password. Apple's "Forgot my password" doesn't retrieve it AND "FInd my ID" doesn't recongnize the ID (Email address). But when I tried to set up a NEW account for her I got the message that the email address is already on account. Now what? Any help would be appreciated. lrc13

Why didn't apple cal the new Ipad the iPad 3???

Apple has not explained why, so nobody here could tell you for sure. Perhaps to keep it in line with naming polices for computers (all iMacs are iMacs, all MacBook Airs are MacBook Airs) rather than the iPhone.

  • Is it real? apple change to new ipad If i bought ipad in a month?

My friend sad apple change to new ipad. If people buy in a month..
    Is it right?

If you bought it from Apple then there is normally a 14 day returns period, though apparently some US stores are extending that to 30 days - I haven't seen any posts about the same extension in other countries. If you bought the iPad from a different store then you will need to check that store's returns policy (Apple won't accept iPads bought from other companies).

  • 1 apple id; 2 new ipads; 1 ipad as a gift; Don't want to share apple id password

Hi. 1 apple id; 2 new ipads; Will give 1 new ipad to my son back home in the Philippines. Same apps; But I don't want to give my apple id password; Even if he buys an itunes gift card to redeem apps or install free apps, ipad will ask for apple id password before installing; He is 7 years old and I don't want other people to buy apps using my apple id, password, credit card. Could someone please help and show me the best way how to go about this... Thanks...

I don't think there is a y way to do what you want. Apps are tied to an iTunes account, not a device, and your son will either need to use that password or set up a new iTunes account, in which case the apps already on there can not be updated.

  • Why Apple deleted the new iPad (refer A1416 )  supposedly  "the  iPad 3" that Many people we bought before june last year Of their web site

Why Apple deleted the new iPad (refer A1416 )  supposedly  "the  iPad 3" that Many people we bought before june last year Of their web site. I say this because the Apple store sold me the new Apple in this moment, but really two months after arrive other model with better things, retina, HD, etc

There is no "unfair trade" in releasing the next version soon after the last version. No "unfair trade" in releasing the new version the day after the last version. No one made any statement or guarantee that a new version would be a year away. Yes, most people who bought the "iPad 3" expected it would be a year before another release and, yes, some (or many) were not happy about the iPad 4 coming out so soon. There may have been some trust or love lost beween those consumers and Apple but there is nothing illegal or improper about it.

  • Apple id and new ipad

Ok I didn't have any problem setting up my 2 month old Macbook Pro with my Apple ID but I can't figure out how to do it on my ipad.
I have an old Apple ID i use for Itunes and have a bazillion apps purchased on it.  its like suzie-q  not an email address.
When I got mobile me and iCloud I had to convert to a me.com address but then use the old ID with iTunes.
I can't seem to figure out how to do that with my brand new ipad.  It made me sign into iTunes with the me.com address because when I turned on the ipad and tried to use the old ID (the one like suzie-q) it made me use the me.com one.  So when I open iTunes on the iPad it already has typed in the me.com address.
How do I change that I have a ton of music I've purchased, apps, movies, yikes.
    Please help!
    Susan

On the new iPad, you will need to sign in in several places in the Settings app: iCloud, Messages, FaceTime, Store, any service you normally use on the iPad. As for the old iPad for your kids, you can either sign out in all of those places, or just wipe the iPad and let them start from scratch: Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

  • Using itunes ID as apple id on new ipad

how do I use my existing itunes id as my apple id to set up my new ipad?

you just need to sign it in, either during set up which ask you to sign in with apple id or you can go to
    Settings>Store>Sign in>Use existing Apple ID

  • HT201269 Old apple id on new iPad?

Restored a new iPad from my old iPad!  Some apps on the new iPad ask for an old apple I'd? I used my new I'd when I set up the new iPad.

Anything you purchased with the older AppleID is forever tied to that specific AppleID.  Just log out of the iTunes or App store with the new AppleID and log in with the older one.  You can still keep the new AppleID for iCloud and iMessage if those are already set up - just use the old one for your purchased content.

  • Old Apple ID with new iPad

Setting up new iPad, I input existing apple ID and password for macbook pro, then get message asking for email address, when I type in email, I get message "Apple Id is already taken", which then prompts me to reset my password if I have forgotten it... what do i do?

You were not able to edit your AppleID in the Manage Your Apple ID screen?
Having two Apple IDs will make things more complicated, but to make it as easy as possible, I would suggest two things:
Keep all your stuff, regardless of which AppleID it is purchased under, in the same iTunes library on your computer
Make the password the same for both AppleIDs and keep it in sync
This will make updates much easier, and will also enable you to download, via a computer sync, any and all purchases from either ID to your devices. For the updates part, having a single password will mean that regardless of which ID you might have purchased a particular App under, if it needs an update, you won't care which ID is displaying - you just type in the password which is the same for both, and you are good to go. (not even sure the new iPad with the latest IOS even requires the password anymore. I know my iPhone no longer does, so that may be a moot point....)
    Anyway, hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • Transferring from Apple laptop to new iPad Air?

So I have a 7 year old Mac OS X version 10.5.8 laptop that I have some movies on that I want to transfer to my daughters new iPad Air that was purchased during Christmas last year.  I plugged the iPad into my laptop for the first time and it said to type in the passcode first on my iPad, which I did, and then it gave me an error and now the iPad does not get recognized when I plug it back into my laptop.  I've rebooted a number of times, on both devices, and it still does not work.
    What are my options?
    Thank you very much.

    Hey evolution video,
Thank you for responding with that information. I didn’t realize those links did not pull up information. I am not sure if you have an iPad Air or an iPad Air 2, but both tech specs pages are attached below.

  • HT202794 Free Apple Apps with new iPad

I received my new iPad Mini with retina display yesterday and was offered iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote as part of the setup process.
Unfortunately the download stopped after Pages was installed.
Can anyone please advise how I can get the remaining Apps?  If I look for them in the App Store then they are only offered at a charge.

That means your dad bought it with the Mac. All you have to do is exactly as I suggested before,
ask your dad to allow you to take them from his account again.
Simple as that! There is no need for you to have a hissy fit and call me names for trying to help you.

1: You never said anything about iCloud.
2: iCloud is for backup and personal remote data access, not sharing software.
Oh and why the he'll did u direct me to the iphone/ipod/iPad app not the mac one?
    1: Please don't cuss.
2: It changes nothing, the prices or description.

  • Apple Configurator insisting new iPads should update to iOS8

I am in a tricky situation and am somewhat frustrated.
My school have bought new iPad minis. I am currently running OSX 10.8.5. When I go to prepare them, it is insisting on them trying to update to iOS 8. The do not update option is greyed out unless I select unsupervised, which I don't want.
The problem is iOS 8 needs Apple Configurator 1.6. This in turn needs OSX 10.9 Mavericks. I have tried to update it but it warns me that 10.9 supports OSX Server 3 and unless I purchase an upgrade for Server 3 my server will be disabled.
I find this ridiculous for a number of reasons.
    1. Why is it trying to update to iOS 8 when my version of Apple Configurator can't handle it?
    2. Why do I not have the option to not update to iOS8?
    3. Why to allow me to use the iPad minis that had I plugged in before iOS8 came out would work perfectly fine, do I have to buy an upgrade to retain the functionality on the server that I have now?
    4. I should not have to make the choice between getting my iPads setup or losing my server functionality.
If anyone has any solutions to this I would be very grateful. At the moment I have 16 iPad minis sitting there not used because Apple Configurator is refusing to set them up.

I had the same problem.  I finally found the solution:
"Hold down the Option button when you Click on the Devices menu in Configurator.  You'll get the option for Edit Custom iOS Versions and then you can point it your *.ipsw file. "
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6544047
I found the iOS 7.1.2 .ipsw files here:

  • Apple logo on new iPad Air appears sideways.  Rotation is not locked.  How do I turn it right-side up?

The apple logo on my new iPad Air appears sideways.  Rotation is not locked.  How can I turn I right-side up?

    Hi chs2010,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the Apple logo isn't showing up in the correct orientation when you restart your iPad Air. The article below provides some general suggestions, like updating and restoring the device, which will help you find out if this is a hardware or software issue.

  • HT1918 I can't log in to iTunes using my apple account my new iPad just keeps saying can't connect to iTunes, what do I do?

I am struggling to log in for the first time after creating a new account where am I going wrong

There are many situations that can block or interfere with wifi, however I doubt this is your issue or you would have issues across the range of internet services and you don't seem to.

  • ITunes asks me to register my new iPad every time I open it

I just bought a new iPad a few weeks a go and registered it on my mac the very day. But ever since iTunes keeps asking me to register my new iPad. I checked, My Support Profile, and Apple has the New iPad's serial number registered with my account. Any one come across this problem?

Don't know if this brings you any comfort, but I just got mine today, and am getting the same problem. Also, when I run diagnostics, it says it can't find the IPod - but the thing did sync and does work. I also checked to see if it was registered on the Apple site, and it is.
