Apple ID on two different iPhones

My parents accidentally used the same Apple ID for both of their iPhones. How can I unlink their accounts and create two different, unique Apple ID for each of their iPhones? And without losing what is currently saved to the iCloud (some of the info saved is for business). I appreciate any help. When I create a new ID for one device it messes up the other one. Thanks!

You'll need to migrate a copy of the iCloud data on one of the phones to a separate iCloud account using a different Apple ID, then manually delete the data you don't want from each account.
To migrate to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud and won't effect the other phone), choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create the new account and choose Merge to upload the data.
Then you can go to icloud.com from your computer and manually delete the unwanted data from each account.
They can continue to share the same ID for iTuens without any problem.  However they should use separate IDs for FaceTime and iMessage (to avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls and text messages).  On the phone that was migrated to the new account, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the separate ID.  Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

  • Can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords?  Yes, there is more to the story.

I have an iMac, and iPhone.  I've had my Apple ID for a few years.
My wife got an iPhone 4S a few months back and the salesperson at Verizon set her Apple ID the same as mine, but gave her a different password.  I don't know if this was ok, but that is what happened.
So, yesterday, we both upgraded to IOS6 and I had no problem logging in to my iPhone with my Apple ID.  When my wife went to log in, she was told that she was entering the wrong password. We entered the password over and over again and still was wrong.
The question is... can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords?  (I have the feeling her iPhone is thinking that since it's my Apple ID, it wants my password.)
If not, can I still set up a new Apple ID for her even through she's had the iPhone for a few months?
    Thanks.

    Hi
You shold follow your feelings, its probably right most of the time.
You can have 5 different devices hucked upp to one Apple ID. What I have done is that my wife and I have one Apple ID, when I bye a new app on my phone, She gets it to. Thats nice.
You can allways set upp a new Apple ID for your wife.

  • How to use the same apple id on two different iphones with different sync?

    Hi all,
I own an iPhone 4s for personal use. Soon my company is going to give me a business phone and I can choose to have another iPhone. I'd love it but I don't know if what I wanna do is possible.
Let's say I will have iPhone P (personal) and iPhone B (business) and Apple ID MyID.
At the moment on iPhone P with account MyID I have application App1, App2, ... App9, I have contacts Cont1, Cont2, ...Cont9, I have songs Song1, Song2, ... Song9. All these are synced on my personal PC via iTunes and stored in the iCloud.
When I'll get iPhone B I'd love to be able to use on it my Apple ID MyID and to sync it with my business PC (so NOT the same one I use for iPhone P).
The configuration I'd love to have would be the following.
    iPhone P
    - Applications: App1, App2, App3, App8, App9
    - Contacts: Cont1, Cont2, ... Cont9
    - Songs: Song1, Song2, ... Song9
    iPhone B
    - Applications: App4, App5,App6, App7, App8, App9, App10 etc.
    - Contacts: Cont1, Cont2, Cont10, Cont11, ..., Cont20
    - Songs: Song1, Song2, Song10, Song11, ... Song20
So will it be possible using the same Apple ID MyID on both iPhones to have this configuration? Some apps, contacts and songs in common and some differents?
If so, how should I configure the two iPhones and the two PCs?
    Kind regards.

If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud on each device, yes. However, you can use the same Apple ID for iTunes content on each device, but different Apple ID's for iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc., on each device. That way, you can have whatever iTunes content you want on each phone, but keep all of the other data separate. You can create another Apple ID here:

Must be a verified email address.

  • Using the same Credit Card on two different iPhones

Wanted to know if it's possible to use the same credit card on two different iPhones.
There have been times that I wished I had a card that was in my wife's possession for certain "Points Purchases"
It would be so handy to share a single card on two phones.  Has anyone done this?

I appreciate your response but, the question was in relation to Apple Pay.  I thought that was the forum I posted in.
So...let me try this again.  We have one Amex card but say I want to purchase something at Home Depot with it and she is out shopping at Nordstrom's.  Can my wife and I have the same card registered in Apple pay on each of our phones so that it's available for both of us to use?  Or are you only allowed to register a card once on one phone?  This has nothing to do with iTunes purchases or Apple ID's.   This is for for using Apple Pay out and about at different retailers.

  • HT1296 How do you sync iphone and PC when you have two different iphones/users?

How do you sync iphone and PC when you have two different iphones/users in house? I just tried to sync my iphone and cancelled sync becauase I saw it was updating my phone with my husband's apps! How do I make it so that sync can distinguish between my and my husband's phone?

I sync two iPhones and an iPad with one iTunes library on the same computer and each device has different content. Each device has its own sync preferences with iTunes. You can transfer the same music and apps to each device or different music and apps.
Are you sharing the same Apple ID or iTunes account?

  • Same Apple ID for two different country accounts?

Is it possible to use just one Apple ID for two different iTunes accounts? I've recently located to Australia from the uk and want to run an iTunes Store account in each but with just one apple id and email address. Can it be done?

You have to be in a country to use its store (and an account can only have one billing address on it), so whilst you are in Australia you can only use the Australian store, you cannot use the UK store (including redownloading past purchases). You can either update your billing address on your existing account to have your Australian address on it, or create a new account with your Australian billing address on it

  • How can I use two differant iphones on one itunes

  • Is there a way to have two different iTunes for two different iPhones on one Windows User account?

    Using Windows 7, iphone 4.
I've read as many threads on these forums and as many kb's as I could find, but I sttill can't figure it out. I have 2 iPhones. Let's call them, "wife" and "hubby". I want to have two separate iTunes, one for each of the phones. Hubby is the Windoows User. I don't want to set up a different Windows User for wife.
Hubby was the original iPhone. When I plug it in, iTunes recognized it has Hubby's iPhone. Then I unplug Hubby and close iTunes. I plug in Wife but iTunes stll comes up with Hubby under Devices and syncs Hubby's iTunes to Wife's iphone.
I've tried using the shift key when I open iTunes to set up two separate .itl files to no avail.
Is there a way to have two different iTunes for two different iPhones on one Windows User account?
    Thanks!

What happens if you rename the iPhone "Wife" when it shows up as "Hubby", then choose a different set of apps/playlists to sync with? iTunes is supposed to be able to manage multiple devices, each with their own selection of content. Perhaps you "restored" "Wife" with a backup from "Hubby" when you first set things up which is now causing confusion.
To create a new library press and hold down the shift key as you click the icon to start iTunes and keep holding shift until asked to choose or create a library. You need to use the same technique to switch back.

  • Are Apple still using two different SSD drives?

    Hi Everyone
I am in the process of sorting out an order for a 13" MacBook Air but I have just found out that it would appear that Apple are using two different suppliers for their SSD drives. Alot of the posts about this subject seems to be from a few months a go, and I wondered if anyone has heard anymore info if this is still the case, or if Apple has now switched to one supplier?
Thanks for any help you can offer

  • I used my Apple ID in two new iphone 5s

I used my Apple ID in two new iphone 5s , I downloaded free iWorks (comes free with a new iphone since octuber 2014) with the same Apple ID in both iphone 5s and now only the second iphone have iWorks. How can i recovery iWorks for the first phone that now is being used with an other Apple ID? Thanks.

You would need to use the same AppleID, unless the device in question qualifies on its own.

  • My husband and I share an e-mail account.  Can we use the same e-mail account for two different iphone account i.d.'s?

My husband and I do not have separate e-mail addresses.  Before he purchased an IPhone this was not a problem.  Does we need two separate e-mail addresses to create two separate Apple ID's and register, maintain two separate IPhones?

And by using the same Apple ID you can also share purchases.  If you have a different Apple ID for each iPhone then you can't share purchases.
