Apple ID Password request

Every time I wake my iPad with the sleep/wake button, I am asked for my Apple ID Password. There are no apps running prior to the previous shutdown. Any guesses as to why I am getting this?

I have no clue why it is requesting your Apple ID upon waking up and you mention "previous shutdown" but are you totally shutting the iPad off and restarting? You can try these two simple things and see if the problem goes away.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • How can I disable nagging "Apple-ID" password requests?

    Hello,
In order to describe the problem I'm experiencing, I need to say some things in advance. I'm trying to install the same software on each of our 10 iPads. To do so, I install all necessary apps on one selected iPad (from here on "iPad No. 1") and do all in-app-purchases I want to do. On this particular iPad, everything will work fine, but not on the other ones.
Afterwards, I create a backup of iPad No. 1 within iTunes using the Option "Save" (all captions are translated from German and might not match exactly with English captions). Then, all iPads are connected to my computer, one after another. All of them have the same name and are fed with the data from iPad No. 1 using the iTunes option "revert to backup...".
Then, all iPads are supplied with a profile using the "iPhone Configuration Utility". The profile contains wifi access data among settings for password requests as well as permissions to use the iTunes Store and to do in-app-purchases. The last three options must be unrelated to my problem, though, because I tried all possible combinations of those three options (brute force) and changing the configuration to any of those settings did not solve my problem, which I will come to describe in a second.
Until I did some in-app-purchases, the above procedure worked just fine and I wasn't bothered with any password requests. But now, all of my iPads have the following problems - except for iPad No. 1:
The in-app-purchases are registered on all iPads, i.e. I'm not asked to pay again for what I already paid for. Yet, the additional data and program functionality I bought in iPad No. 1 and downloaded on iPad No. 1 is unavailable on all other iPads and needs to be downloaded manually by the push of a button. Note: I do not need to enter any password in order to download the in-app-purchases I already made. But 12 In-App-purchases on 10 iPads makes 120 manual actions for each time I need to reset the devices to the backup I created. That alone makes this procedure a real hassle, and things are getting worse:
All devices except for iPad No. 1 will ask for "password for Apple-ID" regularly, e.g. when the device is switched on after the backup. Since the devices are to be used in an educational environment and were selected as the devices of choice for the mere reason that they are very easy to use without any knowledge of computer equipment, this makes the whole thing completely unusable.
The password requests will stop once I manually downloaded the in-app-purchases.
In other topics, I read that this "password request problem" can be caused by incompletely downloaded software. People have advised others who had this problem to "synchronize" and "submit purchases" within iTunes. But doing those after "revert to backup" didn't help, as expected.
It is correct, though, that the problem seems to be related to incompletely downloaded software. Yet I don't know what I could do to transfer the in-app-purchases from iPad No. 1 to the other devices. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just a partial solution to what I described.
    Best regards,
    Jörg

If your two IDs have duplicate contacts, simply turn contact syncing off in one of them. You can do this on your Mac at system preferences > iCloud or on a mobile device at settings> iCloud.

  • IOS 6.1 on iPhone 5: multiple Apple ID password requests on restart

After installing iOS 6.1 on my iPhone 5 and restarting the iPhone, I was besieged with requests to enter my Apple ID password...6 in a row, one after another. After things calmed down, I turned off the iPhone completely and turned it on again to see what would happen, and got another 6 password requests. This onslaught of requests does not happen on my other two iOS devices, an iPad 2 and a 3rd generation iPad, but it happens every time I power down (not sleep, but power down) and then restart the iPhone.

No. You must sign in with your Apple iD.

  • Apple ID password request that don't belong to me

I recently bought a new iPhone to replace my old one. I made the activation at a local store and after I restored my content via iCloud I encountered on numerious ocassions that my iPhone starts blasting me with requests to enter the Apple ID passwords of emails that don't belong to me
all I can do is spend the next 5 minutes of my life pressing on cancel till the bombardment of requests ends.
None of the requests is my real Apple ID
I have no idea how to stop this from happening
I do not know what triggers the flood of requests
Please please help me solve this

The best thing when you buy a phone in second hand is to reset it as new. It deletes every setting and data from previous owner. If you have data of yours, it is better to back it up.
Settings -> general -> reset -> erase all content and settings.

  • Unknown Apple ID Password requests when Restoring from iCloud

    Hi peeps
    Background info:
iPhone 5 64GB unlocked, iOS 8.2, purchased from iStore new two years ago (not some craigslist special)
Has two Apple ID's used on it - my current one from my own country and an old one from when I lived in another country. No other Apple ID's have been used for any purchases on this iPhone ever.
    Problem:
I decided to erase my iPhone 5 this morning to try and help with the sluggishness that has been plaguing it after 2 years of hard use. Everything went well and setup seemed normal. Then it got weird...
I am at the point in setup where I've now setup WiFi, entered my Apple ID details and accepted T's & C's, but I'm getting asked to "Enter the Apple ID password for tiffany*****@gmail.com to use for store purchases". This is one of 3 completely unfamiliar Apple ID's that I'm requested to provide the passwords for(plus one is a .ru email address, which makes me even more concerned). What I need to know is
Should I be concerned re my iPhone and Apple ID's security possibly having been breached?
Should I be worried about restoring from a (possibly) hacked iCloud backup and setup as a new iPhone instead?
Is this a common issue? Do other people find their phones requesting the wrong Apple ID password?
I'm opting to "Skip this step" on those accounts for now, but I'm feeling a bit concerned about the whole thing.
    Any ideas/solutions would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Steve

Did you use apps bought with different Apple IDs on your phone?
As I stated in my original post "Has two Apple ID's used on it... No other Apple ID's have been used for any purchases on this iPhone ever."
The problem is that the three additional Apple ID's I'm asked to provide passwords for are Apple ID's I have never seen before.
No one else has ever used my phone and all apps are downloaded through the App Store on my two ID's. To my knowledge, I've never done anything odd to create a security risk on this phone. I have never been asked to provide unknown Apple ID details on this phone before today.

  • Wrong Apple ID password requested when updating

Hi there people, really need your help!!
My wife and I are having a few issues with our iPhones. She has a iPhone 4 and I have a 3GS - both on iOS 5.0.1
We use the same windows computer, but we have seperate iTunes accounts/usernames and passwords.
On several ocasions now (on both of our phones), when we are required to preform 'an update' for some of our apps, the other person's Apple ID is coming up and asking us to put in the relevant password??!?!?!?!? Of course we could just input the passwords, as we can just ask each other what they are, but it doesn't seem correct. The only way we've found round this is to delete all the apps that require the update off the iPhone and then add them back on. Bizzare and a real hassle!
Plus I've also noticed that in our computers iTunes apps libary, there are a load of apps that she has on her phone that are not on the list there - could this be significant in the problem, I'm unsure?
We want to keep our apps and folders seperate, and assumed that individually syncing would be easy. Now we both log into our Apple ID accounts in iTunes before we plug in our iPhone (not that thats helped at all!), not sure if we should have been doing this all along
I'm hoping that there is a simple solution to this, perhaps a preference box somehere that needs to be ticked or something. The Apple store in Exeter had no idea hos this could happen or know how to fix it, which wasn't very much help at all.
Looking forward to hearing from you and any possible solutions to each of the above issues.
    Thanks for reading.

Thanks for coming back to me.
It's signed as me on my phone, I signed out and back in again just in case but it hasn't made any difference?

  • The Apple ID Password request pops up constantly, I am not purchasing or updating apps, what might cause this to happen?

    What might cause this problem?

You may have an app that is trying to update or download that needs the password to continue... once you enter it it will time out so you don't have to worry about putting it in.
Enter it and it should store it for 15 minute only and after that time you'd need to enter it again to buy something.
Updates do not require password anymore but purchases do

  • After upgrading my iphone 4S to iOS 7 every time the automatic backup on my iCloud account start it requests to verify my Apple ID password.

Since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 every day when I put my iPhone in charge and it starts my backup in my iCloud account, it request me to verify my Apple ID password.
Every day I have to put my password to make the backup start.
I have enough space on my account to make the backup.
I have an iPad 4, updated to iOS 7 too, but with it I don't have the same issue when backing up in the iCloud.
I'm only experiencing this issue with the iPhone.
I already tried to restore complitely my iPhone and turned off and on again iCloud.
    Thank you for your help.

An update - it was just taking too long to copy all the data again to the phone so I stopped the copy. Then I was able to complete the setup of the phone and most of the data was there -- just not the music I had selected. Not a problem, at least I can make calls.
Next step will be to update the phone again (when I've sufficiently recovered from my annoyance) and add the music I want.
Otherwise, I'm okay with the interface. No big problems.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPhone. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

  • My ex's Apple ID plus password request keeps coming up on my iPhone when trying to download Apps, how do I get rid of it please?

My ex's Apple ID plus password request keeps coming up on my iPhone when trying to download Apps, how do I get rid of it please?

Tks heaps for that, had a look at Store and ITunes sections, not overly helpful unless I am missing something.
My issue is that on my computer she would update her iPhone with Software updates via iTunes.
I have gone and deleted her backups that were still sitting on there.
If I want to update my Apps on my iPhone when due her Apple ID and password request will come up as an option to use that account if I knew the password and it's synced from my Computer even though she has been gone 7 months now. Is it a syncing issue or is her Apple ID stored in my iTunes backups somehow and keeps coming back? Do I need to de-authorize her account from my Computer?

    Hello Corinne Craven,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
You can update the name on your Apple ID here:
    Appleid.apple.com
If you suspect unauthorized access to your apple ID I would normally recommend resetting your password, but you have already done this.
Here is some information about 2 step verification which is another level of security for your account.

Be sure to read all the information in the article if you choose to use two-step verification.

I had the same problem!  I was able to set up my new iPad by connecting it to my computer via the USB cord included.  Then opened up iTunes and selected my iPad from the menu on the left.  I was able to follow all the prompts on my computer and finally my iPad accepted my Apple ID and password.  I hope it works for you!
