Apple ID problem, wrong email
Just created an Apple ID for my wife's iPad
I used an email which is wrong, missing a letter.
I can't change the id and email because no confirmation email goes anywhere, the email doesn't exist.
I can't access the Apple ID and get the double confirmation option working also.
The iPad is linked to this new id.
Can someone help in solving this problem?
Or just reset everything and start new?
You don't have to reset everything and start new. Just don't use that incorrectly created Apple ID. You can't delete an Apple ID, but you can quit using it. If you added a credit card to it, remove the card.
Create the new ID and be careful when you type all the information this time. If by some chance, the iPad looks for the old incorrect ID after you get it all set up, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store. If the incorrect ID is showing in that setting, tap on it and then sign out. You will be able to sign in with the correct ID.

You have to go to Settings>Store and log out of one account and log into the other account. If you have updates available for apps that were purchased from more than one account, you have to update the apps individually until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Tried to create apple id for apple store on Iphone 5s. I entered the wrong email address for my user id, and I cannot verify account and cannot create a new account because my phone continues to show wrong user id and requests password.

hey I have a problem. I want to change my rescue email address as somehow apple has the wrong one but I don't know my security questions - but you need one to change the other. Any help?
You can get your Security Questions reset by contacting iTunes Support at either of the two links below. Select the best options for your issue, or provide specific information. Let them know you are contacting them concerning Forgotten Security Questions. They will get back to you via your primary email address, usually within 24 hours. Once your Security Questions have been reset, you will be able to go in and reset your Rescue email address on your account:

When I set up my new iPhone 5c I inadvertently used wrong email for setting up my apple id. I have since setup an id with correct email, but cannot verify the first account. I cannot delete it either. How can I get an iCloud account for this phone?

I don't know of there is anyone than can fix this age old Apple problem. Does anyone know how to retrieve apps under an old Apple ID when the email used for that account no longer exists & I can't remember the password? After speaking with Apple Acct. Security, I got the security Q right but my birthday was wrong! They wanted the serial number from my phone that was 3 iPhones ago! Seriously??!!
Any updated way to work around this? No Apple people can correct it.

Can't access my email - endless messages saying password is wrong, which it is not. Mobileme all over again. I now need to forward all Apple mail to GMail, which is how an email system should work. Same is true with the calendar - a complete mess on the integration with my Google calendar.
This is really, really a pain!!OK this is Cormacin Texas - these idiots have put me through the hoops, effectively locking me out of the support forum. Anyway I've solved the problem - it took 3.5 hours, involved a trip to the Genius bar at the local Apple store, and one and a half hours escalating through the dial-in help support - which was about the only thing the Genius was good for.
What you need to know is:
1. Apple are having problems with their servers, but have not published the fact - we've all wasted a lot of time because these guys want to keep their Customer Sat scores high, I guess. (I'm starting to feel like one of their Chinese factory workers!)
2. This server problem is compounded by the fact that it only affects a few random servers
3. It in turn can lead to problems sending emails which require you to change your Apple Mail password, and in my case surgically remove bad records for various hidden email and library folders. (Good luck with that!)
So, a problem that they hide, a knock-on set of work that the problem indirectly causes, which they also hide, and a support structure that is geared for hardware, not the services that they are now selling.
My suggestion is to change your mail password using the web (icloud.com) access to Mail and see if that works. After that, remove and reset up your Apple email (Preferences) and pray that you don't have to join endless telephone answering lines where some of the folks will cut you off because they can't be arsed.
The two guys that finally helped me were brilliant, knew their stuff and could not have done a better job. The key guy was Danny - if you get him, your golden! -
Please give advice of how can i change my Apple ID (email address) as it is wrong address. Like i just update my iPhone to latest version 6.0, and get the new app, iCloud which need me to key in my Apple ID and Password. I have no choice to use the wrong email address as it is already registerd since from 1st day i use my iPhone. In other words, if I have an Apple ID [email protected], and have alternate email addresses of [email protected] and [email protected], none of them may be used by me or anyone else for an Apple ID, Rescue Email, alternate email, or anything Apple-related.
If the Apple ID link above indicates your email is already in use then it is. Use https://iforgot.apple.com, select Forgot your Apple ID? and provide the information requested. If the email address is one you created and can still access, you may be able to retrieve it. If it is one someone else created, you will not. -

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required
If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

Virgin email via Apple Mail problem
Hi - The search facility is temporarily down on this site, so I thought I'd post this to see if others have the same problem or there's a solution.
I'm in the UK and Virgin Media are my provider. I have a primary POP email account with them and a number of aliases within that account. But just recently two of my accounts have 'gone down', i.e. they are greyed out on the left menu.
I can still send from the accounts, but cannot receive. I can also log onto web mail without any issues, but mail is simply not downloading to Mail on my desktop. If I delete an account and set it up from scratch, it's fine again... but the problem re-occurs after a week or so.
I have spoken to Virgin support a couple of times and on the last occasion they have said there is nothing obviously wrong at their server end and it must be an Apple Mail problem... most frustrating!
Any clues anyone?After a recommendation from support at Virgin, I had to close down the accounts and set them up again. Unfortunately they didn't warn me that I would lose all of my email!!!

Iphone and Ipod stuck on wrong email address as part of apple ID
Both my ipad and iphone are showing an old address on the apple id when I go to update or make a purchase. When I log into the store or the account all is in order but the download is not working as the phone and Ipad both show this incorrect address when I try to download or update apps from the store.
The problem is she entered an email address she thought might be mine ,but actually used by someone else .She said no password was set up .My understanding is an email must have been sent to that address and he or she can set up the password and download .And now I set up an new ID under the ICloud but still the wrong email address still appear as a default one .I tried to delete the set up but I was asked for the password which we don't have .
Any good idea ?
