Apple ID requests in russian???!!!!!

Hi,
for the 3rd  time, or so I received Apple ID requests in russian. I never replied to those, but I'm a bit worried (As I didn't try to log into ICloud, or any other apple service) to have been hacked or fished.
I got a couple of time english requests too.
I attach the mail in question, it looks pretty legitimate......
Thanks

Have you changed your Apple ID password recently?  Do you use iCloud on your device?

  • Totally random Apple ID request on iPhone after iCloud sync.

After syncing my iPhone 4s with iCloud I get a totally random Apple ID request.  I am not familiar with this email at all. Most of the posts I have seen seem to be related to an old email or the email of a family member.  The email address is completely foreign to me.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks so much,

    Hi shailzonly,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you edited the Apple ID that you use for iCloud. To sign out of iCloud you do need to have the Apple ID and password for that account. In this situation, it may be necessary to temporarily change your Apple ID back to the one that is signed into iCloud (no need to change the password, you can stay with your new one) and sign out. Once signed out you can edit your Apple ID back to the new email address and sign in to iCloud with that one. Please use the attached article for more information.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
If you're still asked for your previous Apple ID password, continue to the next step.
    Best regards,
    Joe

  • Apple Engineering Request

I have had an email request from a Jesse Joe Miller (Apple Care) as an Apple Engineering Request for information from my computer regarding problems I have encountered adding Canon printers to my Mac using Lion. Has anyone else had such a request, should I be cautious or is it really Apple Care trying their best to help us? Do the 'Logs' give total access to my computer, and by association to my on line banking etc etc? There's not a cat in h chance I would allow this on the PC, but somehow I nievely trust Apple.
After initial contact the email Full script says:
Engineering would like to gather some logs from your computer to see if they can determine if there were any other issues with drivers that we might be able to find. This is our Capture Data utility.  If you can run it using the instructions below, I would greatly appreciate it.
Once you open it, there will be an agreement to go through.
Once Agreed, De-select Mac OS X Mail Information.
    Then click start.
It will then ask for your admin password, enter this then click continue.
It will take a few minutes to capture the information.  Once it does, it will ask for a description of the issue, enter your estimation of the issue, then the approximate date and time of the incident.
So if anyone can enlighten me... Thanks

I have seen a couple of times people have mentioned that they have been contacted by Apple for more information.  To help determine if it is legitmate or not, consider:
    1.  Did you previously contact Apple Care about such a problem?  Were you given a case number and is that number included in the request for information.
    2.  Did you make post to the Apple Support Communities about such a problem?
    3.  Do you understand enough to read the long headers of the e-mail they sent you?  You could take the originating domain and use the "Whois" tab in Network Utility (/Applications/Utilities) to determine if it in fact came from Apple.
    4.  You could call Apple Care and ask them to verify the request.  If you call Apple Care to verify, you know that your are actually talking with Apple as you initiated the call.  If it is a bogus or phishing request, I am sure Apple would like to know about it.

    What is the question?

  • How can i make Apple Store request my password before installing updates?

Since we have upgraded to iOS 6, Apple Store is not requesting any password when updating applications we bought. This is annoying as i personally wish to be the only one to have control on my updates.

    What are you talking about?

  • Old Apple ID request won't allow me to continue with the reset

A few months ago I called Apple Care because I was having trouble changing our apple ID from our old email address to the new one. I thought we had resolved the issue but tonight, I wiped the I Pad, logged in with my current ID and then when I went to restore from the icloud backup, it requested the password but the little blurb had the old apple id.  I tried using the old password but it wouldn't let me in and I since I wiped the ipad, I can't continue or figure out how to change this setting.  Spent hours with Apple care a few months ago, but evidently we didn't fix this issue and I can't reach out to Apple Care without paying another fee.Can someone tell me how to get rid of the old apple ID/email address completely and continue with the reset??

Try logging on to your iCloud account and wiping the iPad that way.
remove it, which will erase it, and will turn off the activation lock.

  • Apple service request declined?!

I am really disappointed about apple declining this request. They told me that the iPod is functioning properly which is clearly not true! I tested again today and I am still getting problems. If I don't get this fixed, apple will be losing a customer which had bought nearly every generation of iPod touch. Someone please help, it's not fair as this problem Is covered under my AppleCare warranty
    Thanks

I think you've missed the point.
If you tell us what the problam is, instead of simply saying that you have a problem, then perhaps we can help you fix it.
If Apple have declined service because the iPod is functioning properly, that means there is no manufacturing problem. Perhaps the issue is that you are unaware of how to get the best out of your iPod, you have a setting incorrect, or you simply need advice on how to do something. None of that is covered by warranty.
But it's exactly what this community is for.

  • Lost old Apple ID password,Apple ID request/did password change, still can't access old ID

-Went to update some iPad Apps
-Said I had to sign in with Apple ID
-My OLD email/Apple ID showed with the prompt for the password
-I entered what I thought the OLD ID password was
-Prompt said it was wrong, tried options, still wrong
-Prompt said I could change my password
-Changed via an email sent by Apple to my NEW email/Apple ID
-Went back to sign into my iPad under my OLD email/Apple ID with the new password
-Still rejected. Most likely because the password change was for the NEW Apple ID but had to try.
-Tested the NEW password under the new Apple ID and it worked
-Soooo....I can't get into my apps, under the requested OLD Apple ID because I don't have the OLD password and there's no way to change the OLD password without knowing it.
-So now I can't update important apps such as iOS Numbers, iOS Pages and the like..........
    Any suggestions.................?

  • Apple service request response time.

I recently requested a warranty service for my iPod in Singapore. Immediately after filling in all the details, etc. they said they would send me an e-mail with further instructions. That was several weeks ago, and I still have received no such e-mail.(hopefully i didn't enter the wrong email address). The status check merely states "Dispatch Sent".
My question is: what is the average response time for warranty service for an iPod shuffle and what do they mean by "Dispatch sent". I have after all, not received a replace ment.
Please give me your feedback, thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You should get a box in a few business days and then have your iPod back in a week!

  • IPhone 5s activation Apple ID request. Contacted the seller and she said that it was removed from her account, however I still get it and can't bypass it

I purchased an iPhone 5s and wanted to activate it as always but it asks for Apple ID. I contacted her and she provided me but it didn't work and she said that it's not linked to that account anymore.
She said that she replaced it. What can I do?
Is there a way to find out who is the real owner?

    Sorry... No.

  • How and where do I contact Apple to request they modify their earbuds so they stay in my ears?

I posted a 'complaint' on my FB page a few minutes ago and got a half-dozen "likes" in a few minutes.  I'd like to suggest they modify the earbuds so they stay in most people's ears, as do the Skullcandys and all of the other earbuds I have owned.  I know, it may not do any good, but I would like to write a note to someone, Can't find any email address other than customer support for products and other irrelevant departments. We must have eight pair of Apple earbuds laying around the house and still I have to spend $$$ to get ones that stay in place.

You may like the new earpods. They not only have a really nice sound, but are comfortable too.

  • My responce to Apple's request to try Photos as an Aperture user

From what I've seen and read from reviewers regarding the new Photos App, I currently have no interest. Maybe that will change but I am totally dismayed you would completely give up on the professional market and thoroughly dismantle a truly name brand product that professionals like me depended on. I bought a $7000.00 MacPro specifically for Aperture and within two months you announce Apertures demise.
I also use FCPX and your decision to abandon Aperture has made me rethink why I'm using FCPX. I ask myself, why would the professional video crowd be any more important then the professional still shooters? I can't come up with any plausible reason and so I'm now looking into migrating my entire multimedia workflow over to Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Premier. I don't want to but you have given me no choice. And just think, my computer options will be expanded once I get in to the Adobe ecosystem since they support both OSX and Windows. By the way, I switched from MS-Windows specifically for Aperture. I don't think you have any idea how much disappointment and frustration you have caused your truly loyal Apple base. I'm hopeful you may eventually come to your senses and reverse your decision to kill Aperture.

Well the phone is where the vast bulk of the (vast) profits are. That's the new reality.
I don't believe that Apple are 'dropping the desktop', nor do I think that they are trying to lure iOS users to OS X. I think it's a bit more simple than that. They are quietly building up a steady suite of software that
    1. Provides a very similar user experience on OS X, the Cloud and iOS. Moving between the three interfaces retains a similar experiences, even if the OS X version is more capable.
    2. Shares data across the three interfaces so that you can move from device to device effortlessly
    3. Is (and for pro users this is the key point) good-enough-for-most-people
So, create a doc in Pages on your Mac, switch to a Windows machine and continue working on it in the web browser and then finish it off on your iPad or iPhone later. It's quite a trick when it works. But Pages present an excellent example of an app that's 'good-enough-for-most-people'. Write letters and simple page-layouts and so on. But if you want a complex word-processing document, then you go to a 3rd party vendor - MS, Nisus, Mellel - for a more powerful specialised app to do your job.
The advantage for Apple is clear. A common suite of apps that work pretty much the same throughout the ecosystem. The user can move effortlessly from one gadget to another and it's all quite seamless. As good middle of the road apps they're relatively easy to maintain and develop. Plus, there is also a healthy aftermarket for 3rd party developers to specialise in. Easy to use Spreadsheet: Numbers. Complex financial planning: Excel. So, Apple are happy, the other vendors are happy developing into a market where they are not competing with Apple.
This is actually still a better offer for most users than Windows. You still have to buy these apps on Windows, but they're all free on Macs.
When Apple was in trouble it went after niche markets - video and photography being two - aggressively. Now they don't need to do that. If you're a iPhone photographer (and face it, more people are than are DSLR shooters) then Photos will likely be just what you want. If you're a specialised shooter you need to go 3rd party - LR, CaptureOne whatever.
Not saying I like this. I'll miss Aperture. And I'd be a nervous FCP or Logic user. But that seems to be what they are doing.
