APPLE ID SYNC ISSUE

I just synced my new IPhone to my daughter's computer, yet when I now try to download for example, SKYPE from my iphone, there is a pop-up that shows up and it continues to ask me for my daughter's APPLE ID using her gmail account. I updated my APPLE ID password numerous time and that same pop up shows up. How can I get my iPhone to ask for my APPLE ID ([email protected]) vs. my daughter's?

I need to change my email adress too. i want it to be the same in icloud as my appleID is. When I set up icloud, it wouldn't allow me to use my appleid. Anyone?

I have iTunes running on a windows 7 machine & two ipod touches (Both 3G running the power draining IOS4). My ipod touch Sync's OK however my partner (who uses the same computer and software) has Itunes 'stop & quit' when trying to sync her music. The program quits out at the same point when it reaches the same music track. I did start removing the tracks that has the problem but it was getting to the point that I was removing a lot of stuff - stuff that plays OK in the iTunes software and previously sync'ed OK with the old software.
The most annoying thing is that Apple (as far as I have seen) isn’t even acknowledging any kind of problem. The same could be said of the ridiculous battery consumption under IOS4.

Well, Apple's affiliated with it because it's their site, and about their products. That doesn't necessarily mean that they have to be a part of User Discussions. (after all, at least they aren't false advertising right?)
I mean think about it, Facebook is affiliated with your Facebook profile right? Does that mean that the Facebook owners are going to meddle with your personal affairs? Probably not.
I wouldn't consider these forums as CUSTOMER support, more as PEER support. Apple provides customer support other ways, by FAQs, Apple Stores, and Contacting Them. I'm not saying one way whether Apple is good or bad with this, I am simply stating they offer other customer support options.

Apple TV Sync issues

I have been having an issue with my Apple TV. Conent that I have purchased through my Apple TV has been wiped off when I sync my apple TV and Itunes. This has happened on 2 occasions. How can I get the items that I have purchased back. Both Apple TV and Itunes recognize that I have purchased these movies and series passes but when I try to download them back through Itunes I have not been getting the full movie,just the Itunes Extra. I also only get afew of the series shows (not all) from shows that I have season passes for. How do I fix these problems?

I bought a brand new Apple TV 160GB on Saturday 27 Mar. I have a 2008 Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.2 and I also have an Airport extreme. At first the apple TV showed up in iTunes just like it is supposed to do. Then it disappeared just like everyone here writes. I tried turning everything off, resetting if etc just like everyone here suggests. I tried everything and talked with Tech support on Sunday.
It took about an hour but we got it.
I have a secondary Virus protection program that saw the Apple TV as a threat. It took it is a Flood event. I am not a total tech guy so I didn't know what this means. However my program was blocking the associated IP address for my Apple TV. Interestingly though is that even though iTunes couldn't see the apple TV in devices, it could see it through Air Speaker. I could send audio files through it to my stereo system.
Anyway, I had to add the IP address to accepted or friendly IP addresses. Then I had to set a static IP address for the Apple TV in the Airport Extreme.
It's been 24 hours plus, Apple TV is now fully synched with my iTunes, and all software updates have occurred. My Firewalls are turned back on and everything is working 4.0

Apple TV Syncing Issues Driving Me Crazy!

Hi All :o)
I've had my ATV from launch and it has hardly had any problems at all but since the latest software update and the latest Time Capsule update i have had nothing but trouble at least two to three times a week my ATV forgets all and has to re-sync everything its now to the stage where i cant be bothered to use it?
My question is has anyone with this set up found this issue? and does anyone know if apple is AWARE of this issue?
Any one with any ideas would be a great help cheers all :o)

Hello, I have had both the ATV and Time Capsule running and done all the updates whenever they came out and have never had that happen, except when I accidentally unchecked 'all' in iTunes and it had to re-synch, but that was me clicking things I wasn't aware of. So sorry, can't help, it works for me.

ITunes 9.2 causing Apple TV sync issues

I find that after I've updated to iTunes 9.2 my Apple TV will no longer sync with iTunes. I believe this is a real problem and would like to hear if anyone else is having the same issues.
After clicking on Sync, the process initiates but never gets passed the rolling bar and no content is copied after an extremely long period of time. I run only Apple hardware (Apple TV, Time capsule, Airport Expresses and Macbook).

I am having the same issue, itunes is 'stuck' syncing with my Apple TV for hours and hours, no new content is viewable or playable, yet the previously synced items are still available, as well as my music library and photos.
I've tried rebooting the Apple TV, as well as my Mac, the network is working just great in all other aspects. (airport extreme base station router)
It seems that every time I update to the latest Apple software, I experience problems.
Updated to the latest Safari and my entire network went completely 'screwy' for days then just magically started working fine again. (this happened last time Apple released a new version of Safari)
Now I have the latest itunes, and suddenly this strange sync problem with my Apple TV.
Very frustrating, and equally mysterious how these problems just seem to 'fix themselves' after a few days (sometimes weeks) after updating Apple software.

Apple tv syncing issues

Ok, so I'll try and explain. I've got 2 Apple TVs, 2 different rooms. They are directly connected (not wireless) to a time capsule. I have iTunes on a Sony Vaio with Windows 7. All of the iTunes library is stored on the time capsule. I have some purchased content, and some DVDs in my library. For the past several months it has been fine. Now, nothing shows up. Both apple tvs only display the content that was purchased on the individual unit. So I purchased avatar on the bedroom one, it is not in itunes, or on the other apple tv. Anything in iTunes itself, is on neither of them. They both show up in iTunes, and are active and seem responsive, but when I tell it to sync all tv shows, or specific episodes, either purchased or DVD rips, they won't go.
Now to what I have tried. I have reset each apple tv, I have restored to factory settings each apple tv, I have uplugged and replugged them in, I have reinstalled iTunes, and I have repaired the apple tvs. Nothing has worked. All of the TV shows and movies are watchable on the computer, so the iTunes library is fine.
Anyone have any ideas? Since it is BOTH of them, I don't think it really would be a problem with the actually units. But I'm blanking on why else they wouldn't work.

1st Gen Apple TV Sync issues.

I had my atv syncing with my mac over wifi. Suddenly it stopped, i have made no changes other than usual system updates. My mac is connected via ethernet and airport. If I go into my system setting on the mac and disable the ethernet port the ATV will sync over wifi, however if i leave both connections open on my mac, the atv wont appear. I never had this problem before. Any idea's ??

Did you update to the new iOS for ATV? I would recommend try leaving one of the connections off...... either ethernet or WiFi as there isn't any reason to have both to your apple TV.. I just upgraded to ATV@. It will not recognize connection if both ethernet and WiFi are simultaneously connected under ATV iOS 4.1 I had not difficulties syncing my 1st Gen ATV via WiFi or internet use. Hope this helps......... I think you actually solved your own problem if I understood it.

2nd gen Apple TV sync issues

Just wondering if anyone one else is seeing this problem and if they know of any fixes/workarounds. I have several movie files that have some corrupt frames. If I play them back with my 1st generation apple tv or iTunes they play with no problems, it just plays through the corrupt frames. When I play the same movie with the 2nd gen apple tv when it gets to the corrupt frames the video stops and the audio keeps going. Sometimes if I hit pause then play it will work and start playing OK. Sometimes I have to fast forward a bit. After doing this a few times the movie will finally jump back several chapters.
Also is apple looking into a fix for this problem?

If the movie file is corrupt, almost anything might happen in some circumstances. I wouldn't have thought you can expect Apple to resolve an issue that is caused by a corrupt video file.

Like many others, I got the new iPad 3 and couldn't sync all of my photos. The best i got was 1,000 out of 15,000 to work. Today Apple released iTunes 10.6.1.7 and said the syncing issue was resolved. I erased my ipod cache and hit sync. Still locked.

It looked like it was working, but just like before iTunes locked. This time at 2,244 of 15,000. Anybody have an idea of how to fix this?

What's the capacity of your iPad?
iTunes needs up to 3x of the actual size of the files you want to sync during the sync process. And syncing 15.000 photos could cross the size of the available free space on your device.
Don't forget that the pictures are now optimized for the retina display, so the size increases for each of them.

A Sync Issue Not Even Apple Seem To Have An Answer For?

Hi,
Since day 1 with my iPhone (UK release date) ive been having syncing issues. Ive tried every single syncing tip on the web but cannot solve them and today, as the request of Apple i took my phone back for a replacement...but the same thing with the new one.
Basically my phone syncs fine if you make changes...eg if you tick or untick a box and click "apply" it will sync all changes, put all music, videos, settings on etc. But if you just click sync without ticking or unticking boxes (or changing anything) or you leave "auto sync" on, then the iphone will freeze up and reset itself while itunes tries to sync.
I believe at this point is when iTunes tries to make a backup of my phone, which it has never managed to do - the work around is to never have a backup and also tick or untick a box to get the data on my phone, this is annoying if you make a change to media, say an album cover or something, as you have to click on other boxes for itunes to think you've changed something for it to sync to the phone - otherwise the crash occurs.
So to recap ive tried reinstaling itunes, deleting itunes prefs, repairing permissions, hiding all the itunes media, resetting iphone, restoring, turning off and on etc (none of this applies now as ive changed iphones so its not a phone issue) restarted computer, shutdown computer, tried different cables, tried different usb ports, deleted history in isync, and various other things..
Does anyone have anything more left-field as this is very annoying, so far i haven't tried it on another system because of having no data to sync on them, but i will try on another macbook in the house, and i will try on windows vista itunes on this very macbook and see if that works (ruling out a hardware error)
Any help much appricated as id like to have auto sync on, not have to worry about accidently hitting sync, not have to use workarounds and most of all be able to get a backup of my settings on the computer! Im just suprised that an Apple computer is having problems with an Apple phone!

Syncing issues with Apple TV

Is anyone else having syncing issues with their Apple TV? I am trying to sync movies up that I just bought (StarTrek HD, IronMan HD) and the sync sits there with the progress bar moving all the way to the end but never actually finishes. Just sits there for hours! I don't know if it is because of the iTunes Extras or not, but it is getting very annoying.
I have read a lot of bad reviews of the Apple TV 3.0.1 update and I have to say, the my Apple TV is very sluggish and hangs a lot with this new revision. I am sure that is part of my issues syncing. All of this is sad because the product has such potential. To me, it is like an iPod for your TV.
I believe with this slow response times and issues Apply may be working on a hardware update to the device which is long overdue. Maybe the new software requires a faster processor and/or more memory which will be answered in the new hardware (one can only hope). We are just beta testing the new software. Apple: Listen to the people, we want bigger hard drive (500GB+) and reliability! We want it to run as smooth as an iPod. The moment you update the hardware, everyone with Apple TVs will buy a new one!

Yes I have the same problem,, and it was with 2.4 version, I upgraded to 3.0.1 and still the status bar progresses all the way to end and just hangs there,,, BS is what it is,, If this is not fixed or goes unanswered I am just going to take my Apple TV back as I just purchased it yesterday. 12/17/09

Apple iPad 6.1.2 10B147 - Active Sync Issues Remain

Please correct me ASAP if I am posting this in the wrong area of the discussion forum.
I have a batch of Apple iPad devices that are now connecting to our Exchange 2003 system using Apple iPad iOS 6.1.2 10B147 devices. It would seem that these devices may have the 6.1 Active Sync issue again even though this version was meant to fix the issue.
A couple of users have reported this morning reoccuring calender cancellations, we have also had excessive log growth on Exchange 2007 platform.

Hi waddock,
I think that for the most part, iOS 6.1.2 resolved the recurring calendar bug and the significant battery drain issues. With that said, I have had a couple cases of devices still experiencing the battery drain but not the calendar bug. Quick fix is to remove the Exchange mailbox(es) from the device and re-add it. If there are any existing accounts that use Exchange ActiveSync (I think Hotmail and legacy GoogleSync), I just remove and add them back to just in case.
I suggest checking here for periodic updates on what's going on with EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) and 3rd party devices like Apple:

I assume you're an on-premise environment, so to mitigate short-term, you may want to think about blocking certain devices on certain operating systems using your Device Access Settings in Exchange for mobile devices.

Apple TV2/Netflix Lip-Sync Issues

Although Netflix plays with no problems on my PC using the same wireless network that my Apple TV uses, I am experiencing severe lip-sync issues when viewing Netflix on my Apple TV2. Audio is around 400-500ms behind the video. I am connected to my TV via the HDMI out. Video and audio are perfect, just not in sync.
Any thoughts?

I also assumed that it was the ATV2, but then i streamed a large h.264 file from itunes on my Mac, the Apple October event from the podcast section directly from Apple, and no issues, went back to NetFlix, loaded up another movie "Superman Doomsday", and no lip-sync issue, went back to the original file, "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and lip sync galore.
I think its NetFlix creating a separate encode for ATV2 and those encodes are probably still underway, again, this is merely a guess, but its consistent with the YouTube experience, as certain videos that appear on YouTube do not appear in the Apple iteration of YouTube (iPhone, iPad, ATV2). A great example is Kanye West Runaway. It's a 30 minute long form film and appears on the YouTube, but does not appear in the YouTube IOS application.

Why Wont Apple Fix AUDIO / VIDEO Sync Issues

This has been a problem for awhile. Thank god there is a application fix but im receiving an iTouch very soon and I'm not sure if the same problem is going to be on that to..
It might be how Quicktime reads .MP4 and .M4V Files but i can play the videos on VLC and Zune Software fine..
I see other people posting this exact same problems. I see no answers... Apple Knows this is an issue. Why wont they fix it.
From what im hearing it is the audio that is going out of sync from the video.
Now my Final Question is
"Is this just a Software issue for the computers or is it also a Software issue (Assuming that quicktime is the software on these devices) for the iTouch / iPhone ?

well i got my itouch today and it seems that the audio and video sync issues are only on the computer distributions of quicktime and not the hand held device versions
