Apple id vs ICloud Account ?

We have changed our Apple Id and now I can not turn off 'FInd my Phone' as it is still registering as the old id.  I am having issues with phone and need to back up and restore.  Can anyone help me change my account (apple id) on ICloud??  Thanks

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT204150 Sharing the same iTunes, Apple ID and iCloud accounts.

    Hi
My wife and I share the same Itunes , Apple Id and Icloud accounts.
How do we keep our contacts seperate, when we open up or back up on I cloud?
As we both have I phones, I would like to keep all my work contacts seperate from hers. Also I don't wish to have her contacts loaded on my phone and vice verser.
Will it mean the I will have to get a seperate apple ID and seperate Icloud account.
Problem is that all our music and photos are on the one Library, because we didn't have two Iphones before, it didn't matter.
We would like to keep the same Itunes library to access music and photos, but like to keep everything else seperate.
    Can you please help.
    Regards
    shervhall

You can continue to share the same ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores (your iTunes account/library), but you need to have separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs to prevent merged data such as contacts.  (You aren't required to use the same ID for purchasing as you do for other services such as iCloud, iMesage, FaceTime, etc.)  The only issue is that photo stream is tied to the iCloud account so when you separate your accounts, you will no longer be sharing the same photo stream.  You can still send each other shared photo streams in order to share each other's photos, but they wouldn't be part of the same photo stream.
To separate your iCloud accounts, on the device that will be changing accounts, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on the device.  (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your device.)  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The device that will be keeping the existing account will not be effected by this.)  Next, set up a new iCloud account on this device using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.  At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the unwanted data (such as deleting the other wife's contacts from your account, and vice versa).  These changes will be reflected on each phone.  When finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them.
To avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls you also need to use separate IDs for iMessage and FaceTime.  To change the ID for iMessage on one of the devices, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign in with a separate ID (such as the new iCloud ID).  To change the ID for FaceTime on this device, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

  • How do I make one (and only one) device use my Apple ID and iCloud account?

How do I make one (and only one) device use my Apple ID and iCloud account? I currently have an iPad mini, iPhone 5, and MacBook pro attached to my apple accounts, but I want only my iPhone 5 to be assosiated with either one. Whenever I use any of the three devices, I get a notification on the other two telling me that these devices are now using these accounts from these services, etc. and I want these notifications to stop, along with the devices using to them. How do I do this? I completely reset the iPad mini so I don't know how I'm still getting notifications from it, and I deleted and signed of of all of my accounts everywhere I could find on my Mac. So, to restate exactly what I want to do, I want ONLY my iPhone 5 to use ANY of my Apple/iCloud accounts and ONLY it can receive emails, iMessages, and FaceTime calls. Thanks!

If you want to disconect your Mac from iCloud, go to System Preferences>iCloud and click Sign Out.  If you only want to stop using iCloud email, just uncheck Mail.  To stop iMessage, open the Messages app, go to Messages>Preferences, click the Accounts tab, click your iCoud ID on the left-hand side, then to the right click Sign Out.  To stop FaceTime, open the FaceTime app, then click "Apple ID" then click Sign Out.
On your iPad, go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account (or if you only want to stop using iCloud email, turn Mail off).  For FaceTime, go to Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID and sign out.  For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID and sign out.

My apple id and icloud account merge together, i want to delete my icloud account because of some problems on name so i want to change name or delete my icloud account .
    <Subject Edited by Host>

You can't delete an iCloud account.
Once it is attached to an AppleID it is attached forever.
You can edit the name on your iCloud account or setup an email alias if you made a mistake with the email address.

  • 1 Apple ID, 2 iCloud accounts. Why are they syncing across different iPhone 4's?

My sister and I both have the iPhone 4 from Verizon. Recently, I made an iCloud account with a .me address, then she made a separate one. Once she made hers, our contacts and reminders have merged to both of our phones. I can't figure out how to stop that. I don't think it should happen since there are 2 separate iCloud accounts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am having similar problem.  I think I know how it happens but not easy to fix.
"Apple ID" account is different than iCloud account, but when setting up new phone, everything asks for 'apple ID' although you can use icloud or apple ID.  Apple ID is typical for itunes store.  if one user for both, it's ok to use both.  but for multiple users this is the problem.
my problem is I set up my husband's iphone and set him up on my itunes account (accident), so it merged my contacts into his contacts because I put my apple id in there.  I created an icloud email for him to try to fix it but it links this email account now to my apple id still.  and when I created an icloud me.com account for him, it didn't ask for a password.
trying to figure out how to create a separate icloud account for him to separate our contacts then only use apple id for apple store/itunes.   ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CORRECT THIS?

  • 1 Apple ID, 2 iCloud Accounts, 2 different iPhones

I just bought a new phone and I want to sync it with my iCloud.
I moved to Canada last month and I don't want the contacts from my previous country to merge with all my new contacts. I don't want to create a new apple ID and I already have 2 iCloud email account. Thus, all my accounts are synced with my old phone. I can't unsync them because it prompts to delete all my data. If I want to create a new iCloud account, it prompts me to create a new Apple ID which I do not want to do!
I want to know if I can unsync one my iCloud accounts with my previous account and sync my new phone with it without creating a new iCloud account or an Apple ID. If that's not possible, how I can create an iCloud account without having to create another Apple ID. If that's not possible either, a suggestion for a really good app that will store all my contacts.
    Thank you.

    See the following:
Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

  • How do I cancel a secondary & 3rd Apple ID & 2nd iCloud account?

KELoPV is Back! & Still having the same problems with "Manage My Account"
    - No One has had an answer for me ... Yet. I'm still hopeful.
On 10 January, I wrote this community. I keep trying to get into My Apple ID to change a very old email, one that I had changed in 2008
Problem: I still can't get rid of it, though that email is defunct long ago.
I used each of the 3 ID names found on the Apple site & passwords: one from my Tiger, a second from Snow Leopard, now one from my Lion OS. (2 with the same email address, each with a number added) to "Manage My Account" - which I cannot get into or change. I also seem to have 2 email addys each for iCloud & me.com! (long story)
I requested an email toto change the password, but after the Email was sent, & when I went into "Manage My Account" - all 3 "new" passwords I put in were rejected with:
    - "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID"
Today, I sent in requests to "change my password" & never got that email. Maybe that's because Apple is using the wrong email address, & it goes into outer-cyberspace?
It's a miracle how or why I got in here!?!
So, I still can't get in to "Manage My Account ... even using: "Answer Security Questions" using my DOB info ... IT TOO is rejected because it was "in use by another account"!
    - YEAH, ME!  Seems either someone copped my data, or Apple sees the other accounts... not recognizing ALL the info is the same, because I am the same person! (To think I did this just to get into iCloud, not sure iCloud is worth the bother!)
Then, I requested a call from Support & thought it helped, but when I hung up ... it did not solve the problem. I still can't change any of those "OLD" unused, invalid email addys.
    Problem:
There is nothing on any of the pages of "manage an account" that allows me to cancel any one of these unused, invalid emails! It is getting a bit ridiculous.
Please HELP me. How do change these Email Addys? & Delete the other unused, invalid email addresses? How do I get rid of all but 1 of them?

Unfortunately, Apple's not found a way to delete unneeded or obsolete AppleIDs. All I can suggest is to File a bug report with or send feedback to Apple for this oversight.

  • How do I change the name of my Apple ID and iCloud account?

I want to change my Apple ID to a @me.com or a @apple.com account cause right now it's an ugly hotmail account.
I did read this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40. But it is not helping me.
When I change my e-mail to my @me account it gives an error. So what account should I use? Do I have to make a new one?
    Tristan

I already got an iCloud account which is named the same as my Apple ID but I want to change the name of it to another e-mail account from Apple. So I need a new e-mail addres. Where can I make a new e-mail account? When I've got a new e-mail addres then I will use that in stead of my hotmail account.

  • My house has 3 iPhones all on the same apple Id and icloud account. I created another apple I'd to use just for myself and did an icloud backup. Does this backup store the music that was purchased through the apple id I use for the store?

So will icloud backup the music and apps I currently have then when I restore from backup put these songs and apps back on my phone?

Nope.  Your iCloud account has nothing to do with your ability to redownload previously purchased music.  It's tied to your Apple ID.  The only restriction is that once you download a previously purchase, enable iTunes Match on your device, or turn on Automatic Downloads in Settings>iTunes & App Stores, your device is then "associated" with the ID that you are using.  Once associated in this way, you cannot associate it with a different ID for 90 days.  This means, for example, that you can't download previously purchased music from one ID and then immediately change IDs and download music purchased with a different ID...you have to wait 90 days before you can change.
Also, as mentioned ealier, it doesn't matter if the music is on your phone, it isn't included in the backup.  You should be storing your purchased music and other media in your iTunes library; then you can sync it back whenever you want.  To transfer purchaed media to your iTuines library, connect your device to iTunes, then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

  • One Apple ID Two ICloud Accounts several devices?

    Hello,
My wife and I have added some IOS devices and I am very confused on how to setup what I want... please help!
    Old Setup:
In the past we've used one Apple ID for all devices: one Mac, one iPad, one iPhone and an old iPod that syncs manually.
What I want to have now:
Now we have one Mac, 2 iPads, and 2 iPhones.  I want to keep all devices under the same Apple ID so all can share Music.  I want to segregate/seperate the following data:
    1. my iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
    2. wife's iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
What I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around is how to keep some data (and device - Mac) shared but some data and IOS devices seperate.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?
Thanks for any help in advance!!

I d suggest another use account on your mac for calendars contacts and everything with the cloud.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?"
    not on one account.

I changed my email address, updated my Apple ID account but the changes aren't being recognized by iCloud on my iphone. When I log into iCloud on my PC I log in with new email address but my phone is not recognizing

You may have to go into settings of your phone and delete icloud account. Just make sure you respond to prompts by keeping information on the phone. Once it is done, just sign in with new id.

  • How do I change Apple ID for iCloud account?

I changed Apple ID online because my email address changed. How can I change Apple ID for iCloud?

If you renamed your iCloud ID and need to change it on your device, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
