Apple ID was hacked but Express Lane only offers, "I'll Chat Later?"

I can't talk to anybody regarding my Apple Store ID being hacked this morning.  An email states I can only chat later.?  Apple's technical support under Apple Care can't do anything about iTunes support?  What the?  Who can I talk to?

Now I can't even follow the two live chat threads I actually got at 7:00 am this morning (no more chat available immediately).  They changed my ID for me, then I verified it at my 2nd email address, went back into my account, and after having cancelled the credit card information (they claim no one can see anything but the last 4 digits), and now I can't even revert back to using my original login email address because it says someone else owns that email, or else that email has been voided or suspended.  And, who will reverse the charges that Thief X rang up before I found out what happened?
No one there even can tell me if the Apple ID was hacked/phished by a fake iTunes or Apple App Store screen asking me to reenter the iTunes user ID/password, or not!  Talk about breach of security. 
Not being able to resolve this via either Live Chat or Phone call is preposterous.  This is an event that could be litigated in court, I'm sure.

    Thanks, I appreciate the help.  I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

    If you have never shared your password with anyone then your account was hacked. NOT your iPhone, your Apple ID. If you use the same password for other accounts any of them could have been hacked, and your password obtained from that other account. If your password was simple it could have been hacked by brute force. If it is a word found in any dictionary especially. Or if there is anything personally identifiable about it (nickname, pets name, address, name of someone you know).
    The really important thing is to get it resolved QUICKLY with Apple Security, and to change all passwords that might have been stored in an iCloud backup of your phone.

    Facebook security is handled by Facebook, not the phone or Apple.  Contact them.

    See if you can download a free app.
    And click Account under Quick Links right side of the App Store window and sign in.
    Click the Edit button to the right of Payment Type
    Make sure your credit or debit card account information is correct including the expiration date and security code then click Done.

    thanks for your response roaminggnome. I changed my password immediately after it happened and I have contacted i tunes to let them know of this dillemma.
    The I-tunes credit was a promotional thing by Apple to buy their laptop. So I didn't pay for the i-tunes credit in the first place. Do you think my bank will be able to reinburse Itunes credit then? I will ask support when they get back to me.

    I've just had this same problem (password didn't work, iForgot emails not coming to me, my birthdate and also all security questions all changed).  I'm in the UK and have tried to contact Apple and OMG what a nightmare.  Is there any way I can email them?  Each time I try to do the call it just keeps saying 'I'm sorry, this is not available at this time.  Try again'.
    Things I've done so far:
    - changed my Apple ID to another email address from the recover process
    - changed all my security questions and changed my password
    - changed my ID and passwords on my iPad and iPhone for iTunes and App Store (although it's now let me download and charged me for an album I didn't want without asking me to put in any Apple ID or password - ??)
    My iCloud is just screwed now:  I can't get to anything to change the Apple ID and it just says 'everything will be deleted from my iPhone/iPad if I proceed'. I don't want to proceed when I can't get in to that iCloud Apple ID anymore as I may never be able to recover everything if I don't know that password any more.

    What can I do?

    Does the download give you an EXE file, or an ISO file?  If it's an ISO file, you have options, but if it's an EXE file, then you have to have Windows to run it.
    You can always look to sources outside your college to buy a copy of Windows.

    Sorry, but according to Apple, iTunes Store: All Sales Are Final
    You can avoid accidental purchases.
    From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Parental tab.
    Select:  iTunes Store
    Click OK.

    My Apple ID over night two nights ago was stolen. It was "released" by the criminal and iTunes said my Password was invalid. My Apple ID was open for the taking so I re-registered it. Any app I downloaded with it has crashed (only when I try to update, not use) and my gift card is not showing up.
    At the beginning I had emailed Apple Support and their response?
    "Robert, I noticed that your account "kahenniyou<at>hotmail<dot>com" was formerly named "myaccount<at>gmail<dot>com" and proceeded to explain how to permanently released my "myaccount<at>gmail<dot>com" Apple ID, not FIX the situation. He must have misunderstand "someone stole my account". Now, I re-registered because it was an invalid password before, now it says "cannot connect to itunes store" when I try to update an app.
    On top of all of this, $70 of christmas money from my mother is gone. What do I do? Apple Stores said they can't do nothing, automated phone systems said nothing and the man who emailed me? works 8-5 EST Mon-Fri. This person has my bank acct info NOW.
    Please help me! I am begging.

    You should contact iTunes Store Customer Support again and explain that someone has taken over and renamed your account, as well as made unauthorized purchases. You can contact them via: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
