LOST, the TV series, used an Apple IIe as the main focus in a story line. It has two external 5 1/4 floppy drives and the old Apple monitor with only green output. It's in Season 2 Episodes 2 3 and 4...not sure about 5 6 and on ..haven't watched those ones yet..lol

Thanks for posting this because it explains a lot to me as a troubleshooter trying to help other people. No one should be using the guest network feature for their own devices. By default, most routers prevent devices on the guest network from accessing devices on the main network for security reasons. Some routers let you disable that security feature but it's a bad idea if you are letting other people use your guest network.
Furthermore, everyone should have WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) disabled in their router if their router supports the "external registrar" authentication method. That's the method where you enter an 8-digit code which is printed on the bottom (or side) of the router into a device you want to add to your network. You can read more about this here:

To the best of my knowledge, Apple routers are not vulnerable to this exploit because they do not support "external registrar".
The major brand with the worst exposure to this problem is Linksys because WPS currently cannot be disabled in their consumer routers (at the time I'm writing this). The situation should begin to improve in March 2012 as Linksys starts to roll out firmware upgrades for certain models. Here's a link to the Linksys firmware release schedule:

How do I change the apple Id used for updating apps and downloading them

I bought an iPad from someone and I changed the apple ID but for some reason when I try to update the apps the old apple ID comes up from the previous owner ...........I just need to know how I possibly can change it

You cannot. Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID and its account used when making the purchase. You cannot transfer purchases.
The reality is you do not own the apps on that iPad - the previous owner does. If you want them for yourself and want to be able to update them as needed, or re-download them as needed, you will have to delete the copies on the iPad, then purchase them with your own AppleID.

My iCloud is not yet verified, can I change the Apple ID used for the iCloud?

Recently I setup a new iPad, using 2 AppleIDs. But accidentally I could not access to the ID used for iCloud, it was said wrong password. I tried all ways to reset it but unsuccessful. No email is sent to rescue email which is the other email address for #2 Apple ID.
Checking at the iCloud, it is said "Account not verified, check your email at <my email address> for instructions to verify this account" and all options on this iCloud window is unable to be accessed. I accessed the email to verify the address but it still alerts the same (account not verified).
To avoid problems in locking my iPad in future (if pass code typed wrongly many times), I now want to change iCloud ID. Please help advise how I could do it.

Did it work for you? I tried it, and the Restore to factory settings will allow you to chose a new iCloud ID, but if you then restore from a backup to get your data & settings back, it will revert back to the old iCloud ID.

What is an alternate apple ID used for?

I noticed in "manage my apple ID" website that I now have an alternate apple ID, its my @me.com email address that I got when activating iCloud way back. So, it says I can use it in place of my primary apple ID for purchases on iTunes and the App Store but this seems redundant, and maybe leading to problems. I have searched on google and apple support but I don't see anything about an alternate apple ID. There is some info about alternate email addresses but not about an alternate apple ID? Any ideas what this is used for?

I cracked my iPhone screen and was told by one Apple agent it would be $150 to replace the screen while another agent indicated it would be $250. What is the price to replace the iPhone screen? One Apple ID used for two people's iPhones-what to do now?

My Dad bought an iPhone 3G when it came out and, naturally, used his Apple ID for his purchases. When the 3GS came out, he upgraded and gave the 3G to my mom. Since she doesn't sync the iPhone with a computer, she's never made her own Apple ID.
I'm wondering what the best course of action is, since she's bought quite a few apps using my Dad's account and wouldn't want to have to repurchase them if she created her own account. Is there any way to transfer certain apps?
On that note, she recently got herself a nice MacBook Pro. Her iPhone 3G used to be synced to my Dad's old iBook, so I take it there's no way to start syncing her iPhone 3G with her MacBook Pro without restoring it? Thanks for your help!

Yes. She does not need to use his iTunes ID at all except to authorize her computer (since she purchased apps with his iTunesID).

She can the use her own iTunes ID to make any further purchases.
I guess it's nice to have that option (if I understood correctly), but I like your suggestion to just start fresh.
She not really "starting fresh" as such.
She is simply creating her own account and copying the stuff she purchased from the other computer.
Authorize iTunes on her own computer then plug in the iPhone and File -> Transfer purchases to get these itmes into her own iTunes.

The delivery date is no use for the scheduling lines

We are using scheduling agreement and automatic scheduling lines.
but the delivery date is no use in MRP running.
In scheduling agreement,I already maintain delivery time=2days and GR days=3 days.
But after MRP running, I found the delivery line only consider GR days but not included delivery days.
For example. (delivery time=2days and GR day=3 days)
requirement date=2009.04.16,
MRP results :scheduling line date=2009.04.13.(!only GR days=3 days in use )
Why? I am using standard lot size TB( daily lot size, Scheduling: Requirements date := delivery date)

Cant change or delete apple id used for iphone and itunes

id managment issue. I have an id based on my current email account. I can't recall the password and can't reset the password. I get the email to reset the password however when I enter the new password and hit submit it says the id is in use. Have been trying to contact Apple but no response. Have created a new email account and new apple id's to get around the problem but would like to delete the original and or at least change the password. Suggestions?

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!
I had the same exact problem. I had my old apple ID connected to a school email which did not exist anymore. My ipad was prompting me to put the password in for that ID and I could not delete it from my ipad because the "Find My Ipad" was turned on, once again prompting for password. I called apple and they said this Apple no longer exists and is not in there system, which I knew already. After hours on the phone nobody could help me. Try this.
-Go to create a new Apple ID and use the same email address as the old apple ID which is locked in on your ipad
-Create a new password and all that, it will say it send a verification link to your email, in my case my email no longer exists so I could not do this
- I called Apple to explain this problem and I asked if they could verify it for me, which they did after I convinced them it was worth a try. The guy told me that the verification shouldnt matter and should still be able to login but he did it anyway. You can try skipping this step but if it doesn't work then go ahead.
-Go to ICloud and click on your account, the email should be grayed out but it should allow you to change that password, put in the new password which you just created.
-This allowed me to sign in to accept the new terms and conditions but it said "unable to conncet to server" so I just backed out and went to "Delete Account" and it worked!
The whole idea is to re-create your old apple ID into Apple's system and then use that new password. The guy at Apple said tons of people called about this problem and nobody could solve it. I thanked him for helping me and he thanked me for helping him. I hope this helps you!

CCM using "*" for an outside line; delayed secondary DT

Because the customer site is already using extension numbers beginning with 9 (and every other number), I want to use the "*" key to access an outside line in order to avoid a delayed secondary dialtone. However, my secondary dialtone still doesn't get played until I hit my second character. I only have two route patterns that begin with "*" and both have "provide outside dial tone" checked. I also have verified this through the route plan report. Is there something special about "*" and how CCM does dial pattern matching? THANKS!!!!

Remember that wildcards in RPs can interfer with secondary dial tone. (ie XXXX RPs.)
Could be a number of patterns/DN's that might mess up secondary dial tone.
You might want to investigate what these patterns are associated with.
If they are DN's for a CTI port or CTI RP, then these are enterprise numbers
and are configured as on-net devices. Once they are eliminated, you will get secondary dialtone
Other way to troubleshoot is looking at CCM Digit Analisys dump in CCM detailed trace.

Which info object should be used for Financial statement line (BPS and BCS)

Hi experts.
A rather easy and straightfoward questions for someone out there.
In BPS as we know, we use the info object '0SEM_POSIT' (account groups, or financial statement line) to summamrize and store amounts from groups of accounts or for example data from COPA's value fields, and which is already an attribute of the info object '0ACCOUNT'.
I am told that there is another BCS related info object called '0CS_ITEM' that serves the same purpose, and uses it for the same reason for the purpose of consolidations.
We'd obviously like to use just the one of these info objects because of planning and reporting.
Can someone out there with knowledge in BCS recommend which one to use, and from their experience in the past how they combined the use of both (if you in fact did use both).
Also, is it true that in BCS you cannot use a two characteristic BW hierarchy for consolidations, and it can only consolidate a one characteristic BW hierarchy?

I kind of understood what you said, but just incase, let me explain my situation a little clearer. In BPS I'm using 0SEM_POSIT for two reasons:
1) To create hierarchy based on 0SEM_POSIT info object, and making each node postable. This is because on this project we don't plan at account level. Only at a kind of account group/financial statement line level. So each node is postable so that they roll up to the higher levels.
2) I will have 0SEM_POSIT as an attribute of 0ACCOUNT (which is standard delivered as an attribute in BW). This will ensure that I derive the actuals at that the same level as the planned. This is required for two reasons:
                           a) I can have the actuals as comaprison column in the Planning
                               layout.
                           b) I can report on the Actuals vs. Plan at the postable node
                               level in BW queries.
So having explained this, what I understood from your explanation is:
a) I can continue to 0SEM_POSIT as my info object for my postable node hierarchy, and
b) I can also use 0CS_ITEM as a consolidation unit specifically for BCS only.
So what I really didn't understand is:
1) your explanation of the mapping of 0SEM_POSIT to 0CS_ITEM, and what this mapping actually does. For example does 0CS_ITEM derive the values from 0SEM_POSIT because of this mapping? Can you explain this a bit? Is Datastream a tool in BCS by which BCS readinf financial data from other components?
2) Can BCS use a 2 characteristic postable nodes hierarchy as a consolidation unit? For example, if I create ONE hierarchy using 0SEM_POSIT, and 0ACCOUNT. Both will be postable at any level of the hirarchy.
Can BCS consolidate using this 2 characteristic hierarchy structure? OR, must it use 0CS_ITEM info object?
3) How does both 0SEM-POSIT, and 0CS_ITEM co-exist together, in terms of planning, consolidation, and reporting. For example if I report using the 0CS_ITEM hierarchy, then I will not be able to read plan data, because plan data is posted on the 0SEM_POSIT? and vice versa......? This question kind of ties in with 1).

Can not expand items that are off of the main story line

Ok, I have done something dumb !! At some pont I must have told FCPX to collapse the items around the main storyline - now I can not re-expand them - Help.. as you see from this clip the green items at the bottom are both audio with automation, but I cant get back to the expanded view where I can see/manipulate the automation handles and waveform etc..

I have tried each of the settings - still no audio waveform or handles etc.. the audio level is set to 0 db in the Audio Inspector. I am starting to think this is a bug .
Could it be a factor that it is inside a compound clip ?
You can see from this clip that I have volume at 0 db ... for the greenb clip highlighted with white border..
