Apple Ipod Hardware...Software not found? Cannot connect new shuffle
I installed 7.5 then connected shuffle. I get hardware cannot be installed because necessary software cannot be found?
HELP PLEASE!
i had the same problem. when prompted for the cd, select "i don't have cd, show other options" or something like that. then click on the browse button and type C:\WINDOWS\system32 or select manually. do this three times, so that the computer installs the 3 necessary drivers. and then your ipod is ready.

My roommate gave me an old iPod Mini a few days ago. It was working fine 'til I plugged it into my computer and it asked me to format it. I did, and now it cannot be recognized by iTunes or my computer. My computer views it as a "removable disk" which cannot be accessed. In devices, it is listed as an Apple iPod though, so I'm hoping not all is lost. I have tried many quick fixes I've read on internet (including changing disk letter) but to no avail. I have reinstalled the new iTunes and now that is telling me it has not installed properly, and when I ran diagnostics, it reads that the Apple Mobile Device Driver not found. I will copy & paste all the info from the diagnostic run below, and if anybody can help me with my new (old) iPod, I'd be everly greatful!
Thanks!!

What i knew about iPhone before buying it:
What You Need
To use iPhone, you need:

A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
Mac OS X version10.4.10 or later
Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
iTunes 7.3 or later, available at www.itunes.com
An iTunes Store account
An Internet connection
You must be at least 18 years old to open a new AT&T wireless account. You will need a
major credit card to open a new iTunes Store account.
Yeahyeah check all that stuff;
Oh well; just when i thought i'd finally cross over to the beautiful packaging of APPLE. I remember in design school that form follows function. Thanks.

I have ensured I have installed the latest version of iTunes and conducted everything to the point of burning from a playlist to a CD. When I do this the iTunes window states "Disc Burner or Software not found" "CD/DVD doesnt have connectivity to burn via iTunes".
I have checked my drive and it reads a pre-recorded disc correctly. Any help please ???I have the same problem as simtagman. Would you mind looking at my diagnostics?

I bought a new 4th gen ipod shuffle and tried to sdet it up last night. I installed the latest itunes software and started to sync my ipod, but error boxes kept popping up saying ipod not found cannot sync. It was showing in itunes, then it would disappear, then it would come back. I am not very good with computers so I don't know what to do. Can someone help?
Do you have an iCloud backup? If you backed up your old phone to iCloud you can go to Settings>General>Reset>Erast All Content & Settings (which will erase your phone), then go back through the setup screens again and when prompted choose Restore From iCloud Backup. However your backup won't contain everything in your iTunes library (such as your music) so you'll need to be able to sync with your computer unless you purchased everything from iTunes and want to redownload it to your phone.

Ipod Touch will not charge or connect to Itune, keeps reverting to apple logo?
My Ipod Touch will not charge or connect to Itunes/computer
Ipod switchs on charge logo appears then switchs to apple logoTry:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
Video ipod "software not found"
When I connect my ipod to my desktop it works fine, no problems with anything. When I connect it to my laptop it gives me "software not found", "this device will not work properly". It doesn't show up in itunes, disk management or windows explorer, however it does show up in device manager with an X on it like its missing a driver. Anyone have any ideas. Maybe IRQ conflict?
hmmmm. what make and model is the laptop, drmll?
are there X's showing up next to any of the other entries in Device Manager? (especially anything to do with your USB?) -
Trying to load my new I Pod Nano onto my pc. Have tried numerous times and keep getting same message..."Error 2...Apple Application Support was not found. When I look at my control panel the only program that shows is "I Tunes". No other supporting programs are showing up in the control panel nor the Common Files nor in the Program Files (x86).
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. When I look at my control panel the only program that shows is "I Tunes". No other supporting programs are showing up in the control panel nor the Common Files nor in the Program Files (x86).
That's an extreme case of this.
We'll try doing standalone installations of all the supporting programs.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install.
Doubleclick the AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi to do a standalone Apple Software Update install.
Doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.
Do those four installs go through okay? If so, does your iTunes launch without any errors now? -

I am having tremendous difficulty installing I Tunes onto my new Dell XPS (Windows 8). First it downloaded but my library wasn't there and it would not recognize my ipod.
Then I uninstalled it and now it won't reinstall saying:
Apple Application Support was not found.
Apple applicationSupport is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.
Error 2 (Windows error 2)
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times.......not working.
Any ideas??With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
I cannot get iTunes to load -- "Apple Application Support was not found". I have tried multiple things to fix it and nothing works including re-installing.
Try b noir's post Standalone Apple Application Support install to see if that can repair the problem or provide futher information, otherwise try reinstalling again as shown in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Re: Disc Burner or Software not found... -
my iPod wasn't downloading any of my music so i restored the settings and tried to put everything back on it. well it had been uploading for quite a while and when it stoppedi believe it said "iPod could not be synced software not found." there was no error number with it just that. so i pressed okay and then at the topof itunes where it says syncing ipod or shows what music is playing, it said iPos sync is complete. i looked at it under devices and it appeared to have all my music on it. so i pressed the eject button and when i unplugged the ipos nothing changed on the screen so i restarted it. when i did that none of my music or ANYTHING was left on the ipod.
