Apple Ipod nano 1GB - FM Radio?

Does the Apple Ipod Nano 1GB have an FM radio or not? Thanks

The nano itself doesn't have a built-in radio selector, remote, etc.; none of the iPods do.
You can get a radio remote for your iPod for $50 at the Apple Store (this is compatible with nanos and video iPods). See this link for the display page for this product:

I hope this helps,

I lost an Apple Ipod nano wayback in Feb 2009 in Bangalore, India.
Just wanted to report it in this community..and get help on this. Can we block it somehow.
Please let me know if there is a site where we can add the serial number o the lost IPOD.

There is nothing you can do to block it.February 2009 was a long ways away even if there was something to have been done. I hope you have another iPod to enjoy by now.

  • My Apple iPod Nano stops playing shortly after plugging in the correct headset, but works on docking station. I've tried enabling and disabling crossfade in settings. Any suggestions?

Make sure your headphones are plugged ALL the way in, meaning the white part of the headphones is flush with the Nano and you cannot see any silver from the plug still showing.

I have a new ipad mini.  I want to download all the music I have on my old Apple iPod nano MA428.  Can I do this?  If so, how do I go about it?

You should be storing your music on a computer that you sync your iPad mini to. You can then sync your iPod to the same computer to copy over the music to the iPod.

    Bob:
I'm sorry, but that's how things are done in America. IE, not very shocking !!! .. For example, you buy a coffee, say for $1, but the material only costs Cents ,, get my point?? ..
My thing is that there really aren't any cases immediately available to buy 'now' .. You either have to wait or . hmm you have to wait ie nano tubes (no longer available) or the incase folio (shipping was changed from 1 to 2 weeks to 2 to 3 weeks???) ..
    Chow for now...

  • Apple iPod NANO Lanyard

I would really like to buy the Apple iPod Nano Lanyard, it would be perfect for me. However after reading the reviews from the Apple store, I am afraid that my Nano will fall off and break or get lost after a short period of use. I can't afford to keep buying Nano's. Does anyone know if Apple has taken this problem to heart and fixed the problem, making it more secure? I can't believe that they would continue to sell a product that could cause you to loose such an expensive investment? If there has been a fix, does anyone know of a date to "buy after"?
    Thank you so much, Cinta

I have the lanyard and while I don't subject it to extreme pressure I have run around with it quite a bit with no ill effects. I am disappointed though that there is no mechanical release though. There are other options available that would have a separate lanyard earphones options. I love it and had to pick it up after having a shuffle but personally it's great.

  • IPod Nano (1GB, 1st Gen.) can't be recognized by iTunes

I have been having problems Sync'ing my iPod nano with iTunes, however, the more I read help articles and follow the steps, the worse the problem gets. (I'm on a PC using Windows XP)
I've gotten to the point where I updated my iPod software in Disk mode (up until then it was being recognized only in Disk mode), but when iTunes failed to recognize it when not in Disk mode I preceded to restore my iPod to factory settings, as instructed in the help articles.
Now, up until then, I still had music in my iPod, and I was being able to charge it and listen to my music even though I couldn't sync the iPod anymore. After restoring, I not only lost my music (which I was aware of), but it STILL did not fix my problem. So I started to get annoyed.
I then noticed that my iPod was being recognized by My Computer, just not by iTunes, so I began to perform the steps indicated in the following article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
I restarted my iPod service - no luck
I removed iTunes - no luck
I emptied my Temp directory and restarted...
That's when iTunes stopped recognizing my iPod altogether, not even in Disk mode. Not only that, but it seems to have affected the iPod itself, since it won't turn off or exit Disk mode anymore. So now I'm scared of going though with any more steps on whichever "help" articles and making the problem even worse than it already is (if that's possible).
The only other information I can provide is that windows is still recognizing my iPod, no problem, and when I connect my iPod, iTunes actually launches... but DOESN'T recognize a thing. So I ran a diagnostics using iTunes and here's what I got (iPod diagnostics):
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
    INTEL_ D945GCL_
    iTunes 7.3.2.6

All green lights, and as you can see, according to iTunes, NO PROBLEM! Except that it won't recognize the iPod that the diagnostics says exists and reads... ?!?!?!
If anyone could shed some light on my situation, i would be VERY greatful!

I've experienced the same issues, but apparently went to the next level. My computer does not recognize the ipod at all. As soon as we put a 2GB nano on and updated the software the 1GB started having problems. When we went through the diagnostics and web support it got worse. When we called support and spent 90 minutes on the line it completely stopped working and I felt lucky that the new ipod worked. The 1GB now plays and works fine away from the computer and will recharge in the dock that is not hooked to the PC, but itunes does not recognize it and we cannot update with new music.
I took it to Mac authority who could not diagnose the problem and said they'd never seen or heard of this issue. They could not even make the Mac recognize it as an external drive. After spending $20.00 to just have it diagnosed, they told me it needed a new logic board which would cost between $59 and $89 less the $20 I'd already blown. I am MUCH less than satisfied with the results, and have been told that I could buy another one for $20.00 off and a small discount.
The problem is, the 1GB worked until the moment we added the 2GB, now my son is being penalized because my daughter got a new nano, and I'm expected to shell out more money....If you find a resolution that doesn't cost more than the worth of the ipod, I would love to hear it.

  • Help connecting new iPod Nano to iHome radio

I got an iHome radio with a iPod Nano recharge station (and Nano played through radio's speakers). When I lost that, I got a new Nano, but the belt clip means I cannot push down so that the Nano's insie port connects with the iHome's outsie port. Is there some sort of cable or connector available so I can still play the Nano and also recharge it on my iHome?  iHome is model iH10B

Well, to use it, I guess I'll need to purchase snow leopard, is that correct?
It depends upon what computer model you have.  If you have a G series computer such as G4 or G5 you cannot run anything higher than Leopard, and may not even be able to run that if it is a really old G4 or lower.  If you have an older Intel model you may not be able to run anything higher than Snow Leopard.  You might possibly be able to run Lion.  To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number.

  • Ipod nano, my new radio connector wont work ;0

I have a 1st gen. ipod nano. i just bought one of those ipod radio connectors that plugs into the dock connector of the ipod and is wired to a little control pad then headphones are pluged into that. My problem is when i plug it in it doesnt show up a spot to click RADIO on the main screen. I took my moms ipod nano 1st and plugged it in and it came up with the spot to click on radio and works fine. Does anyone know how to get it to work with MY ipod?
    I tryed:
unplugging and blowing out the connectors
    restarting my ipod
and yet it still doesnt show up.
just like to add that i am not talking about a transmitter it acctually plays radio threw the ipod headphones
and the it is APPLE brand so i dont understand why it wont work with my ipod at all.
anyone that can help is greatly appreciated
    thanks alot
    -gabi

First of all, are you up to date with iPod software?
On your iPod look under settings/about, and it should read 1.3 for the latest.
Then, when you connect the radio go to settings/main menu and turn radio to 'on'. The radio option will only appear in the menu when you have it connected.
    Now does it work ok?
