Apple is asking me to update my security code to update and download free apps, I enter it correctly and it still tells me its invalid. Help?
I am entering everything over and over and correctly each time, and it still says invalid. I don't want to call apple themselves cause I can't deal with them, I've tried to so many times and no help. This is downright ******* me off and I want it fixed. Help?
What sort of card are you trying to use ?
If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

Thanks diesel....tried that as well, but failed to mention it in my OP. No luck. Also rebooted, unplugged, reset, etc....no luck as well. It has to be something on the ATV though since it rented just fine on my phone. I have 13 $1 pending charges on the 2nd credit card I tried, so it was looking, just not verifying.....strange. Have to think it wouldn't be my bank though, since again, renting on my phone went fine.

If you're being prompted that your payment information needs to be veriefied, then there is some aspect of your payment type which is being denied by your financial institution. I'd like you to please follow the steps below to verify your information.
Open iTunes. If you are signed in to iTunes, skip to step 4.
Note: Verify that you are signed in to the correct iTunes account. If you are unsure which account you're signed into, choose Store > Sign Out and proceed to step 2.
Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your account name and password, then click the Sign In button.
Choose Store > View My Account.
Click the Edit Payment Information button.
In the Payment Method section, choose None.
Click the Done button at the bottom of the page.
Click the Edit Payment Information button again.
Enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your credit card statement.
Select your credit card type in the Payment Method section.
Enter your credit card information, your card's security code, and the expiration date.
Click the Done button at the bottom of the page.
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.

how can i fix my iphone i can't update or download apps, when i try it tells me toput my credit card info and i do but when i push done it tells me my payment has been declined, but why do i have to pay to update or download free apps. How can i fix this?

Try doing it on your computer with iTunes and then sync to your iPad to see if it clears the problem.

Unable to update or download free apps
My payment method was declined and it is forcing me to use a new one (which I don't have, by the way) which is not the concern, but I cannot update my apps, nor can I download free apps without updating my billing info.
? Why is this happening? My card info works with everything else, and it has cash on it, so what gives?Some folks have gotten these types of cards past the system in the past, but with the need to beef up security for Apple accounts, the system recognizes and kicks these cards quite regularly now.
If you don't have a None option in the payment methods for your account you need a usable payment method. It could be an iTunes Gift Card.
You need a replacement payment method to remove the current method. -
Billing Info needed in order for me to update or download free apps?
Two weeks ago I began to experience problems with my Apple Account, if I ever attempt to update or download any apps, it will come up with a message "There is a problem with a previous purchase," I later clicked on "Billing Info" to find that I needed to insert a credit card, I do not have a credit card! I checked my account balance expecting it to be negative something to find it was "$0.72," this issue is driving me insane, I currently have 11 updates on my iPod and 3 updates on my MacBook Pro (Including Yosemite which I was extremely excited to get), I am very disappointed and now apps are begging to close mid-way through use or not show images etc, so if you could not already tell my question is how do I fix this without getting a new iTunes Voucher (Getting a new iTunes voucher was a solution to the same issue that happened a couple years ago). If you have an unpaid balance or payment due
You can't select None as your payment type until you pay your balance. To see which order you need to pay for, view your purchase history on a Mac or PC. When you sign in to the store, you might see a message that there was a billing issue with your last order. Click the Billing Info button to see the order.
After you pay for the order, you can change your payment information to None.
Adding payment information like a Credit Card, or redeeming an iTunes Gift Card with a value that exceeds the amount owed, should resolve the issue with your previous order.

When I go to updaye my apps on my IPhone it tells me my passowrd is incorrect and wont let me log in. I changed my passowrd on this site just to be sure I had it correct and it still wont let me log in and still tells me it is incorrect. What can I do?
Updating your Apps is different from the Support Communities and use different passwords. Your best bet is to start with the support links here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/account/ If one of those suggestions doesn't work, then hit the "Contact Support" link from the list to the left for additional options.

Getting security message when trying to download free apps
It wants 3 security questions, but I try to choose a question, I get a blank screen and I can not download the app.
Tried going to the apple site but there are no 3 security questions there.
Annoying!
Canceling the security question leaves me without an app.
What can I do?
And yes, have done the reboot, App Store behaves the same.
Help!!!These are security questions specific to your account. You should call AppleCare and speak to account security to have them reset your security questions.

There are two options, the default is enter your password once every 15 minutes, the other is a restriction that asks for it every time. If you haven't activated the restriction in Settings/Restrictions/Require Password, then yours is good for 15 minutes. -
My Apple ID will not download free apps without entering a credit card.
When I try to download, it says the ID has not yet been used in iTunes and to review my account. When I do, it requires a credit card. There is no 'None' option for payment. I've searched the message boards and cannot figure out how to get past this. I should not have to enter a credit card until I want to buy something. I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks.
The only way to have the "None option is to buy a free app then choose create appleid. Setting up any other way will not have none option. You will need card to continue. You can remove it afterwards in itunes on the computer.

I use iPad3 64GB and have been buying and downloading from App Store but recently, each time I want to buy or down load apps from the store, I will receive a popup, "your apple ID has been disabled". I have made efforts to download to no avail and have also change my password severally and later my username and still I get the same message. Now, I can neither buy nor download free apps from the store. What do I do? I need help!
