Apple logo coming off in 2Gen Shuffle

I have noticed the Apple logo on the back of my 2nd Gen. Shuffle is slowly coming off. The paint is a lil smudged.
I take very good care of it, so I dont understand why this happened. In any case, I thought Apple etched the logos in the back of iPods with laser, but I guess this is not the case with the Shuffle or even Nanos, since they are the cheapest of the iPod line-up.
I left some feedback about it on Apple's website, and if you have experienced the same issue, you should too. Heres the link to the feedback form:

Its sad that Apple chose to get cheap on the Shuffle because its still an iPod and we expect the best products fromt Apple, no matter what the price range is.

It's not etched but painted on. Mine got smudged while
in my pocket with some dollar coins.

It's not worth the effort. Especially since UNDER the logo is an area of aluminun that isn't anodized like the rest of the shufle, sort of like inverse engraving.

Yeah, Apple could have stamped the logo on, but perhaps they have some group purchase plan where a
different logo can be silk screened on the clip...?

  • Apple logo flaking off??

I just pulled my phone out of my pocket today to find that the silver logo on the back had begun to flake or chip off. The phone is always in my pocket alone (definitely no change or anything rubbing on it), and now it looks like about half of the apple logo peeled off.
Has anyone else seen this happen? Know of any way to prevent it after I exchange for a new one?

Wow, I'm almost as disappointed with the help here as I am with the quality of the new casing. No sand in the pockets and I'm well aware of the purpose of a case. The phone has a screen protector on it, but I don't see how a protective case can be a requirement to keep the phone from peeling apart after average daily use.
I guess I'm more interested in hearing if anyone else has seen this, not just a chip or scratch, but the whole logo flaking away like foil as if it wasn't applied correctly.

  • Ipod turns on, Shows Apple logo, Shuts off

My friend took my ipod out with her to jog, came back and all it does now is turn on, show the apple logo, turn off and repeat till the battery is dead. Anyone got any ideas? I have tried reseting it but it just shuts off untill i take my fingers of the buttons and then it goes back to turning off and on.

See if you can force it into disk mode...

If that works, then see if you can hook it up to your computer and have it show up in iTunes.

  • How to get rid of apple logo loop off rebut? tried restore.

I tried the bellow. restored it twice. this morning i tried to update to ios 6.1.2 i'd be updating from like ios 4. something. i had tried to update to 5 but it never would. so i figured i'd give it a try. So i started it. It's said verifying then started. Everything looked like it was working and then it started a loop with the apple logo. it will restart, but only to go back into apple logo. someone suggested this on another page for the same issue. But even this is not working. I've got work, and i've got to get this thing up and running. please help.
First, turn your phone off: Press both the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until your phone turns off...black screen...then release. Then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

    Hi there,
Under +iDVD > Preferences+ in the top menu bar, you can unselect the "Show Apple logo watermark" checkbox. As long as that box is unchecked, your DVD will be logo-free.

  • Light Up Apple Logo Rubbing Off

    Hey Everyone,
I am a fairly new Mac user and absolutely love my mac even though I have had some problems since I bought it August of last year. I really baby the laptop because I am only a college student and paid close to $3,000 for it (which I am still paying off FYI). Anyway, I always clean my laptop with computer cleaning wipes and don't use any abrasive chemicals or anything, but recently I have noticed that when I wipe the Apple Logo that lights up on the front off the case with the wipes (or anything for that matter) that it seems to "rub off" plastic. I don't know what to do because I am completely OCD with this laptop and it makes me feel bad.
Anyway, now it looks like as if there is liquid underneath the logo and honestly, all these small problems are making me loose my faith in Apple.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Damir

That was not the point, the point was to illustrate that wipes (which were fairly expensive and created specifically for the cleaning of electronic devices) clean a Toshiba Satelite well and seem to affect a MacBook Pro in a negative way. I've been a computer technician for several years (Windows based computers) and obviously know how to take care of them. This is my first Mac, but wouldn't you clean a Mac similarily to a Windows based PC? After all, it's all casing (granted that the Apple Mac case is a metal). I don't know, I am very paranoid. Do you think Apple will replace this "cosmetic defect"?

  • Disappearing apple logo when off charge

my iphone shows the apple logo when charging but this goes away as soon as taken off charge.  what does this mean?
I dropped in water and have had it drying for 3 days in rice.  Just wondering if I have to give up the cause.

    Probably. Sounds like it's toast.

  • Apple logo flashing off and on

I have basically dropped my iphone so many times that it is now not working
I bought it in the UK but I am now living in the US - It is our of warrenty
It has no glass on the back and little on the front - the home button is also off
I am happy to repair all of this myself however my phone wont start
It does power but only has tthe flashing apple logo (as it wont start I also cant sync it)
    any help would be good
I would take it to an apple store but not sure how it works with being a UK phone
    thanks

While the Apple warranty for the iPhone is not international, you mention the phone is out of warranty. There is always the chance they will take it and allow you to make an Out of Warranty replacement. That is $149US for all but the 4S which is $199. They will do the OOW swap for the same model, color and size of iPhone that you bring in. It is worth a shot!

  • Why won't my bright Apple logo turn off?

All recovered on its own now, but I want to know what to do if it happens again.
Had just completed online application for $100 credit and was receiving the text message with the code when my iPhone froze. All attempts to reset failed. The Apple logo, with a back light, refused to go away. Tech support tried solutions, but all failed.
Made an appointment with neighborhood Genius Bar. Kept it in charger all night per tech support's suggestion. When I unplugged it in the morning, the first sign of life was a low battery alert. Plugged it in again, started to charge, and all came back.
But, I was iPhoneless for 12 hours, and what would have happened if there was an emergency?
Has anyone encountered the same freeze: a bright Apple logo that refuses to go away?
    Thanks!

A runaway process is preventing sleep and delaying shutdown. Need to use Activity Monitor to identify the miscreant.  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1473

  • Apple sign coming off on the cover of macbook...

my mac book is a little older then a year and a couple of days ago i noticed that the apple on the back of the screen is coming of or actually is pressed inside from one side ...... any suggestions of why it may have happened ?? should i just leave it ?

Maybe you dropped your MacBook on its back a few times. If you do not like this condition, perhaps you should visit an Apple Store and see if they can replace the cover/logo - it shouldn't cost too much. Other than that, I am aware that the MacBook's finishing is far inferior to that of the MAcBook Air and MacBook Pro, and therefore, over the lifespan of your MacBook, you might encounter several scratches and dents, etc., on your MacBook.

  • I have an iPod Nano, It dont turn on, and when is conected to the computer or the power, appers the apple logo, then turn off again, the turn on with the apple logo, turn off... infine loop.

I dont know how to restore it. I push the buttoms to restore it, but doesnt work because is in an infinite loop...

Which generation iPod Nano is this? How old is it? It could have a worn out battery. You can make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store to have it checked.

  • Brand new IPhone stuck with the Apple logo

My phone is brand-new, bought it yesterday together with two more for my sisters, and it asked for an update. After it finished updating, it told me to connect to Itunes, which I did. As soon as I connected it to Itunes, the only option left was to restore. I waited 10 minutes for it to restore until it came to the finishing point, but in the end, there was an error, and since then, my phone has been stuck with the apple logo on it. I tried turning it off by pressing the sleep button and the home
button at the same time until it turns off, but when I turn it on, the apple logo comes back and stays. I left the apple logo on the entire night to see if it would go off, but the apple logo only came off when the battery ran out. When I started charging it this morning, the only thing that happened was the apple logo coming on again and staying. I tried restoring it twice yesterday and in those two times there was an error. My sister also had an update and her phone didnt ask to be connected to Itunes, it just turned on and had a start up as if it was the first time she was turning it on. I don't know whether the problem is my computer or the phone... Can anyone help me?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPhone fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPhone freezes at the apple logo

suddenly, today, I can't get my iphone to work. it should be plenty charged, as it charged all last night and was working this morning before it just stopped. at first it was freezing up when i went into apps, and I'd be able to reset only to have it freeze up again periodically.
but now, when i reset...it comes on with that apple logo and goes nowhere from there.
when i hook it into my macbook pro, where itunes will normally recognize it, it doesn't recognize it now. the macbook pro doesn't recognize that i'm even hooking anything in
    i got 2 modes now:
    1) the apple logo
    2) off
so...any ideas? i bought this back in October

i'd give it atleast 15 min for sure.
the other tip is pretty nifty...said to hold down the home button while i connect the USB cord. it showed me a new screen on the iphone and was detected by itunes, asking me if i wanted to a recover... and i said yes.. it would extact software, go through a process.. but then at some point, it would just giving me a continuous status bar graphic... and the iphone showed an empty status bar with no progress.... each time, i'd let it do this until itunes would pop up with the "iphone could not be restored. unknown error occured"
